4 Notice of Public Information Centre #2 Transportation Master Plan Update During the past 7 years, the County and City have updated their growth forecasts to comply with the Growth Plan. There have been a number of changes to legislated requirements, other ongoing transportation initiatives in the community, as well as a continuing need to balance infrastructure needs with the financial resources of municipalities. As such, the County of Peterborough is undertaking a study to update their Transportation Master Plan. improvement needs up to the 2021 horizon year and recommendations for operational design and transportation policies that the County uses to manage its transportation infrastructure. The existing Transportation Plan also recommends that the County complete a review and update of the plan every 5 years. This study is being undertaken in accordance with the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment document (October 2000, as amended in 2007 and 2011). Public Information Centre (PIC) #1 events were held in Bridgenorth and Buckhorn in September 2011, and presented the status of the existing Transportation Plan recommendations, the changes affecting the existing Transportation Plan and the work to be completed as part of this study. PIC #1 provided an opportunity for the public to review the presentation material and discuss the study with team representatives. Since PIC #1, the study team has completed a review of existing technical information and the current policies and standards set out in the current Transportation Plan. In addition, the study team has carried out technical studies in support of the Transportation Master Plan update. The public is invited to attend PIC #2 to review and comment on the findings of these reviews and technical studies, as well as next steps in the study process.
