16 Things to do in Brisbane Streets Beach A South Bank icon, Streets Beach is Australia s only inner-city man-made beach and it boasts a sparkling lagoon surrounded by white, sandy beaches and sub-tropical plants. Streets Beach is free to use and is patrolled by qualified lifeguards all year round. The lifeguard s hours change throughout the year, so please contact the South Bank Visitor Centre on to see when they are patrolling. River City Cruises River City Cruises is the original and best sightseeing cruise on the Brisbane River. Cruise past Brisbane s most iconic sights including the Kangaroo Point Cliffs, City Centre and the Story Bridge. Daily departures 10.30am and 12.30pm - Jetty A South Bank Parklands. Take advantage of the onboard Coffee Shop and enjoy a Souvenir Map including other discount offers. Australia Zoo Australia Zoo, home of the Crocodile Hunter, is world famous and much more than a wildlife park - it s an adventure of a lifetime! Every corner turned reveals another amazing animal discovery with world-class enclosures and interactive opportunities galore. Kids will love feeding the kangaroos, camels and farm animals, and the unique wandering wildlife team will personally introduce you to snakes, talking cockatoos, baby alligators, lizards and all kinds of mammals as you navigate your way through 28 hectares and visit more than 1000 animals. Segway Tours Glide, spin and twist your way around Brisbane on a Segway. These eco-friendly machines are safe and easy to learn. The best thing to do and the best way to see Brisbane, this is a family friendly activity suitable for beginners to experienced riders. Shopping The city s Queen Street Mall is home to some of your favourite retailers, big international chains and luxury brands. Fortitude Valley is home to local designers and high-end fashion on James Street and the Emporium, while Paddington is best for homewares, books, vintage and designer fashion.
