Qatar Airways (QR) implemented from its online station in YUL as well as a few new stations in the USA namely DTW and CLT are now export ready. Next stations to move forward with implementation will be OSL, HEL, WAW and IST. Effective May 1, 2015, US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will be transitioning from the current Air Automated Manifest System (Air AMS) to the new Automated Commercial Environment Multi-Modal Manifest System (ACE-MMM). It is important that your IT capabilities are able to migrate over to the new system. What should air carriers and self-filers expect to happen on May 1, 2015? 1. There will be no changes to the existing CAMIR air import manifest requirements. 2. The CAMIR requirements will have stricter edits. On May 2, 2015 those edits will be enforced so certification with your CBP Client Representative should be confirmed. 3. CBP is currently loading your current Air AMS data into the ACE system and is in a dual process. The data is currently being reviewed and building up shipment history. 4. It is IMPORTANT that you contact your CBP Client Representative to ask for confirmation that your data is being successfully processed in the background by ACE. For more information on the transition to ACE visit the following website: Subscribe to the e-cargo Monthly buzz Sign up now Copyright IATA 2015 All rights reserved.
