While we endeavour to keep you abreast of fluctuations surcharges are levied by carriers at time of shipment and may be subject to change without notification. Airfreight ex Asia With volumes returning to pre Chinese New Year levels, space on aircraft to Australia is tightening and at times demand is exceeding supply. Please continue to liaise closely with our customer service representatives with advance bookings to enable us every opportunity to meet your requirements. Oceanfreight ex Asia Rationalisation of vessels across the board may have some impact on space and price as volumes return to normal levels following Chinese New Year. At this stage this is impacting upon northern China more than southern China. While we are in a strong position to service your requirements across multiple carriers it could mean a rate increase in the near future. Airfreight ex Germany GDF, the air traffic controller's union has announced that a solidarity strike involving tower staff in Frankfurt will take place on 29 February for 6 hours. Currently all cargo flights are operating as normal; however the impact of the solidarity strike remains unclear GDF is also leading the wage negotiations for the some 200 staff employed in Apron Control, Operations Control and Ramp Safety at Frankfurt Airport, and is resuming its industrial action. The strike of apron control staff is ongoing and is set to continue until 05.00hrs on Thursday, 01 March. However, due to the additional possible strike, it remains a distinct possibility passenger flights will have to be cancelled over the coming days on domestic routes in Germany and within carrier European networks.
