Siemens has a number of MoUs signed with stakeholders including Engineers Australia, Simulation Australasia and the South Australian Government; as well as an MoU with Defence Science and Technology Group and Queensland University of Technology to advance High Temperature Superconductors. Siemens has contributed over $AU5 million of technology and software in support of these MoUs. Other recent investments include new Service Centres built in Rockhampton, Perth Airport, and Tonsley Technology Precinct in South Australia. Dan van Holst Pellekaan MP Minister for Energy and Mining Dan van Holst Pellekaan was elected to the South Australian Parliament as the Member for Stuart in He was appointed as the Minister for Energy and Mining in the Marshall Government, in March Dan previously served as the Shadow Minister for Energy and Mineral Resources from 2014 to 2018 and has developed a broad understanding of these portfolios. Growing up, he enjoyed playing sport and eventually made it to the National Basketball League, playing four seasons with Hobart Devils. During his basketball career, Dan completed a Bachelor of Economics which later led to a career change with BP Australia where he worked for more than ten years. Dan moved to Pimba in the state s mid north and ran numerous roadhouses before relocating to Wilmington to be with his now wife, Rebecca. Dan is passionate about regional communities and has been a volunteer CFS member for his local brigade.
5 speakers Martin Hablutzel Head of Strategy, Siemens Martin Hablutzel is the head of strategy for Siemens working across all divisions along the electrification value chain that extends from generation, transmission, distribution and smart grid to the efficient application of electrical energy through automation and digitisation. Martin began his career at the (then) Hydro Electric Commission in Tasmania, joining Siemens in 1997 as a protection and control engineer. Subsequent roles in project engineering, project management, asset management, sales, marketing and executive management have given Martin broad exposure to the deployment of electrification, automation and digitalisation in diverse industries including utilities, resources, infrastructure, transportation and manufacturing. Martin holds a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Tasmania and an MBA from Deakin University. Steve Masters Chief Executive Officer, ElectraNet Steve is a resources industry executive with over 20 years experience. Appointed as Chief Executive of ElectraNet in December 2014, Steve previously held a number of senior and executive roles with key Australian energy companies, leading commercial, marketing and corporate development functions. Steve s formal qualifications include a Bachelor of Science (with Honours) and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance And Investment. He has attended University of Chicago Business School s Executive Program in Corporate Strategy, and Oxford University s Advanced Management and Leadership Program. 6 Mark Vincent General Manager Network Management, SA Power Networks Mark Vincent is the General Manager Networks at SA Power Networks. In this role, Mark is responsible for ensuring that the SA distribution network meets the safety and reliability expectations of the community and that network assets are prudently and efficiently managed for the benefit of future generations. facilitator Lucy McEwen General Manager Major Survey Projects, Fyfe Lucy is an economics and commerce graduate with more than 20 years management experience in a number of industries. She is currently the General Manager, Major Survey Projects, and oversees the Fyfe operations in Northern Territory, NSW and the planning and surveying teams in SA. Lucy has been involved in the management of projects across the property and oil and gas sectors including electrical and instrumentation packages; coal seam gas; water, oil and gas pipelines; engineering and survey.
