As far as the verge mowing contract, most of the Wormside has now been completed, but I still have some issues in Birch and Llangarron.I will be talking to the Contract supervisor to get an update. 7 June 2016 Golden Valley Police Briefing 9th June - 26th June 2016 Crime Trends Madley Between 22nd May and 12th June persons unknown have entered a property in Madley and proceeded to take 10 large goldfish from the pond. Nothing was seen or heard as occupants were away at the time Incident ref 889s Outbuildings located on farms in Madley (Canon Bridge) were entered, some were already unlocked, others were secure with padlocks. The secured building had nothing taken but the unsecure had a Sthil Strimmer and a pressure washer taken Incident ref 177s and 278s Dorstone Fraud phone scam to an elderly gentleman, company name of KA Trader. Contacted the person stating he needed to replace his carbon monoxide alarms in the property and charged him 129 each, they were very convincing and he passed his card details over the phone before realising and contacting police Incident ref 248s Eaton Bishop Outbuildings entered at 2 properties in Eaton Bishop, persons unknown entered private property currently under refurbishment but was disturbed by occupants staying inside and nothing taken. The other property is currently empty and access was gained to garage by side of house taking a husquvana motorbike (off-road). These are linked to the outbuilding break ins in Madley (above) occurred between 12am and 1am on 17th June. Clehonger Persons unknown entered a shed in the village, setting off the alarm. This has frightened off the thieves and nothing was taken. Suspicious Incidents In Peterchurch a suspicious Black Ford Fiesta registration FL52 RYY was seen entering a farm, it had 3 males in the car all with strong Welsh accents. When challenged by the farm manager, they stated they were looking for land to metal detect on, they were asked to leave but noted for looking at the buildings on the farm Incident ref 460s Around Vowchurch and Turnastone a suspicious White pick up type car with a white male driving, described as having curly hair and a moustache was seen, he would stop occasionally as if looking at buildings and when approached by public would drive off. Nor registration taken at the time Incident ref 351s and 155s On the Glan Wye estate in Cusop a Silver Ford Transit was seen acting suspiciously on the site by one of the unit owners but was not challenged. The registration is NU65 FYO Incident ref 638s Suspicious male attending properties in Rowlestone and Ewyas Harold, driving a blue Jaguar with Dutch registration, selling catering equipment from a recent kitchen build completed by him and his father. He wanted to sell the spare items before returning back to Holland. No registration Incident ref 113s Reporting to police We would like to issue a reminder to our communities that the best way to reach us is via 101 in non-emergency situations. Over the past few months we have received a number of calls from residents who have left voic messages with us. In order for us to provide the best service we can, we need to get your reports via the appropriate channels so we can act accordingly. 101 should be used for non emergency calls and all other enquires, including advice on police matters and to report crimes which have already happened, where there is no sign of an offender. A few questions have been asked about the terminology of some of the defect types, particularly the way Potholes are described

8 1 CAT1 Emergency 2 hrs to make safe, 24hr Repair. 2 CAT day response. Normal day to day repairs. 3 Routine Up to 6 months. Larger type works that are not urgent. 4 Asset. Works of this nature are placed on a long term program resurfacing/drainage/structural etc. For example, where the defect type is : CAT 2 CWAY10mm (Driven ins) This means: CAT 2 - Priority CWAY - Carriageway - location 10 mm - Materials - to repair pothole Driven insp-statutory driven inspection-as opposed to an ad hoc or enquiry from member of the public And based up on these responses and outcomes this is how the client can monitor the performance of Belfour Betty within the contract.
