It will not be available until early summer however, the encouragement would be that if you might be interested or know people that this would be good for then get the business plans dusted off so that your ready when the money becomes available. Last week we heard the government announcements that: 8m investment for the new university of Hereford NMiTE 2.8m investment fund for the Cyber Security Centre in the enterprise zone in Hereford We are working hard and trying to apply pressure on the Cabinet members and BBLP regarding the state of the roads and the quality of the work that is being undertaken by the contractors. There are ongoing conversations as to the road conditions outside of Pontrilas sawmills, including the fact the lines are badly faded and cats eyes not working. BBLP have been out this week clearing the entrance, and concerns as to the condition of the bus stops and kerbsides has been reported as a requirement of work required

Slips on Standard Lane have been done but as bad as before Litter Pick done Notice Board at Kilpeck requires treatment again where repairs were carried out Leaves along side Village Green require removal In the area there are some branches that need removing for safety 6.0 Public Question Time Designated maximum period of 10 minutes to accommodate members of the public who may wish to either raise or ask the Parish Council questions No matters raised 7.0 Neighbourhood Development Plan Councillor Mr M Parsons Vice-Chairman had been advised by his employer Dwr Cymru Welsh Water and the Herefordshire Association of Local Council (HALC) to declare A Non Declaration of Pecuniary Interests (Non DPI) for this item. This Non DPI will remain current for the entire process of the Neighbourhood Development Plan process. Ward Councillor Mr Jon Johnson gave a brief overview of the Neighbourhood Development Plan process. Next Steering Group meeting is Wednesday 5 th April 2017 at 7.30pm in Kilpeck Village Hall Open Day Consultation Saturday 22 nd April 2017 in Kilpeck Village Hall time to be arranged 8.0 Highways and Footpaths 8.1 To receive new information on any Parish Highway including Public Footpath Issues Various Highway issues were reported to the Locality Steward, many of which had already been reported but were still awaiting action 8.2 Update on Lengthsman finances and to agree Works Plan up to 31 st March 2017 Clerk to provide budgeted scheduled at the next meeting

Her training begins on March 27th, and her last working day with West Mercia will be 10th March. Lucy joined us in the Golden Valley in November 2015, having already served nine years as a PCSO in Worcester and Ludlow, and she is a valued, hard working member of our team. We will miss her, but wish her every success in her future career. We have had no reported property crime since the last briefing which is great news - we must be doing a good job One Sunday morning a couple of weeks ago, the team here had a joint operation with the Brecon Beacon wardens and colleagues from the Operational Policing Unit or OPU for short(tom's new gang!) up in the Olchon Valley and Longtown areas. We were targeting the scrambler bikes that illegally ride up onto the mountain causing considerable damage, and danger to walkers and wildlife. These individuals have no regard for the law, and in the past have refused to stop for police. They usually have no number plate displayed so it is very difficult to trace the culprits. Three bikes were seen going up onto the mountain at Craswall that morning, displaying no registration plates, but a good description was given by the witness. Later, they were seen by a patrol in the road, presumably having come down from the mountain, and were signalled to stop. One did but his two colleagues decided against it, and strangely when questioned, the one who didn't get away couldn't remember his mates names. The male that was stopped hailed from Ewyas Harold, and he was given a ticket for failing to display a registration plate and will have to pay 100. He had the plate in his rucksack which had just broken off apparently! The O P U spent some time in Peterchurch one morning recently along with officers from DVLA and Customs and Excise and stopped several vehicles; two tickets were issued for traffic offences (no registration plate and a

8 bald tyre), 4 prohibition notices were issued (for vehicle defects that needed rectifying there and then), two drug swipes were carried out and a medical form completed as the competence of a driver was in question. Scams Carers for an elderly resident of Madley reported to us that an unknown male had cut down a tree for the resident and she had written him a cheque for Luckily, the bank did not cash the cheque as they didn t recognise the signature - the handwriting had deteriorated from the one originally given to the bank and they did not match. An officer attended and advised the carers to remove all money and cheque books from the premises for safe keeping, which was just as well as there was another call to the same property on Friday 24th February. The carers arrived and found the kitchen had been ransacked; the resident said two men had called for money and when she said she didn't have any, they began searching for some. Enquiries are ongoing, there is a suspect for this. Please ensure that elderly and vulnerable members of your family and community are warned against allowing strangers to carry out work - these individuals are known to have left a flyer advertising 'garden services' and they prey on vulnerable people Incident ref 380-s The below is another scam received by one of our readers.. 9 Kingstone A white Ford transit van was stolen from the side of the road by the High School overnight on Saturday 4th/Sunday 5th March. It was found later on 5th March in a car park in Llanwarne, but with false plates on. Another stolen Ford transit van, stolen from Hereford, had been spotted in the same car park by a local resident a few days earlier but had gone by the time police got there. A third stolen Ford transit van, also displaying stolen plates was found in the car park of the Axe and Cleaver at Much Birch, this van had been stolen from Malvern. Please report any vehicles parked in unusual places for a few days to 101 Incident ref 232-s Suspicious vehicles A silver Rangerover on Belgian plates 1ANS499 called at a farm just outside Peterchurch on Thursday 9th March, the driver was looking for 'spare diesel' as he was running low. He also said he was looking to start up a business sharpening steel. The only description was that he was a white male, and sounded foreign. The same vehicle had been recorded by police as part of a group of French travellers that had been parked on Merton Meadow car park in Hereford for a few days earlier. Please report any other sightings Incident ref 433-s Scams Another demand from the tax office landed in my work inbox the other day - I think my UK tax affairs are in order, it's news to me that I owe the US tax office now!
