3 A great bus for walking The 906 provides unique access to some of the best walking routes in the Heart of the Pennines. The 906 walking guide Metro working with Hebden Bridge Walkers Action have produced a guide to doing great walks from the 906 bus. The walks range from an hour stroll to a full day s walk. The guide has maps and detailed directions for each walk. Hebden Bridge Railway station There are direct trains from Manchester, Preston, Halifax, Bradford and Leeds. The 906 leaves directly in front of the station. The station has waiting rooms with railway heritage exhibitions, an excellent café and toilets. Come for a day s walk or why not come for a weekend of walking, plenty of places to stay (details at heartofthepennines.org.uk). 6 Using our bus stations safely When using Metro s bus stations: Directional signs and notices are there for your safety, please follow them. Please follow instructions given by the station staff in the event of an evacuation of the bus station. Do not walk in the bus area at any time. Ask one of our customer advisors or security staff if you are unsure where to go. Follow any safety announcements or directions given out over the bus station public address system. Do not leave luggage unattended. Keep your own belongings with you at all times. How to use the bus At the stop or shelter please indicate clearly to the bus driver that you intend to get on the bus. When you get on the bus please tell the driver where you are going. If you can give the exact fare, please do so. When you are getting close to the stop where you want to get off please ring the bell once, then stay in your seat until the bus stops. Smoking is not allowed on any buses. For the safety and security of passengers all bus stations, some bus stops and some buses are fitted with CCTV equipment.
