2 Hello & Welcome The River Dart Country Park and Holne Park House lie within the Dartmoor National Park in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The River Dart, which flows through the grounds, has been designated as part of the Dartmoor Special Area of Conservation due to its diverse habitat. Everyone who visits is in awe of the beautiful surroundings in and around the Park. We treasure this natural environment and our environmental policy is geared to protecting and enhancing our surroundings. We are now generating our own electricity to be self sufficient for nine months of the year, saving over 260 tons of carbon. Our hydro-electric generator, using water from the river was a finalist in the Regen South West Awards and has won the DEBI (Devon Environmental Business Initiative) Award for We are pleased to announce that once again The River Dart Country Park was included in the Top 100 Parks as voted by Practical Caravan readers and achieved 4 pennants with the AA and 4 stars with Visit Britain. Following the refurbishment of Holne Park House the bed and breakfast option is proving ever popular for families and guests who appreciate the well appointed rooms and facilities. 6 All our guests staying at River Dart Country Park have free access to our extensive adventure playgrounds known as River Dart Adventures! Within the Park there is extensive adventure for all! Please note that we ask all parents to supervise children at all times and that aggressive play causes accidents. In addition to the action-packed fun there are lovely scenic walks through woodland and alongside the beautiful River Dart, including nature and tree trails. 6 Book online

7 Dare Devils Unique to River Dart Adventures. Dare Devils are instructor supervised adventure activities. The activities are operated by CRS Adventures and include: Indoor Climbing and Bouldering Wall 220 sq metres of safe modern undercover fun. Children under 8 to be supervised by an adult. (3 tokens per day) Canoeing On our lake in Red Indian type canoes. Safety equipment provided for 30 minutes of wet fun. (7 tokens per boat and equipment for up to 3 persons) Mega Zip Wire harness up and jump from 15m tree top platform down 80m long wire! (3 tokens per go) High Ropes Course A fun and exciting tree top challenge course, unique to Devon. 14 elements that test your nerve and confidence. Takes about 45 minutes to complete. All safety equipment provided. (9 tokens per go). Commando Abseil from a 15 metre tree top platform (3 tokens per go) Dare Devils run everyday from 24th May to 1st June and new for 2008 some, if not all activities will run Saturdays and Sundays from 7th June to 6th July and 6th September to 28th September, however prior booking is necessary or telephone Dare Devils will open every day during the school holidays from 12th July to 31st August inclusive. Day Activities For the adventurous, who wish to enjoy a challenge, CRS Adventures offer a day rock climbing and abseiling on and around Dartmoor or a day in an open boat canoe on the beautiful Dart Estuary or a day caving down one of our local caves. Led by qualified Instructors from CRS Adventures, these activities are for any member of the family aged 9 years and over. Children can take part unaccompanied by parents or join in and make a family day out! These activities run on week days starting Monday 21st July and finish Friday 22nd August. Pre-booking is essential as only three groups of 8 persons can participate each day, with one group canoeing, climbing and caving. Please book and pay direct with CRS Adventures. 10 Where to stay Fernlea gardens Within our spacious 90 acre parkland setting, we offer all types of accommodation to suit all budgets. Whether you are staying on our award winning touring and camping site, in one of our self-catering properties or in our luxurious en-suite rooms in Holne Park House, you will enjoy the wonderful facilities we have to offer. 13 Bed and Breakfast SUN MON TUE WED THU Prestige accommodation for those of us that enjoy a little luxury Following a major refurbishment in 2006, Holne Park House is now a premier Wedding and Conference venue with its magnificently restored reception rooms and nine principal bedroom suites. We are pleased to be able to offer these luxurious bedrooms, together with the four West Wing rooms on a Bed and Breakfast basis during the summer. The rooms are available from Sunday evenings to Friday mornings, for a minimum of two nights stay. The majority of our impressive principal rooms face south with wonderful views over the lawns and park. There are three family suites with second integral bedrooms for children and four bedrooms which have interconnecting doors which can make two additional family suites. All these rooms have en-suite shower or bathrooms and are equipped to the highest level with comfortable beds and if space allows, sofas or seating areas to relax in. All rooms have a TV, a small fridge and a kettle with a selection of teas and coffee. The West Wing rooms are away from the principal bedrooms in a separate part of the house. The rooms are accessed via a communal area suitable for storing wet weather clothing, bikes and pushchairs. There are three twin rooms and a single room, all with en-suite shower rooms and TVs, all these rooms have shared use of a small lounge and a kitchenette with microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster. Breakfast is served in the Old Saw Mill (café bar) and include a cooked or continental option. All bedrooms are on the first and second floor and accessed by stairs only. Only one car with caravan, tent or trailer tent or one motorhome is included per pitch. Additional vehicles must be parked in the car park unless exceptional permission is granted by the site warden, in which case a charge of 3 per night per vehicle is payable. Awnings (with breathable groundsheets) and pup tents (maximum one of each per pitch) are included in the price. Gazebos are also included but must be securely fastened at least 3 metres from the nearest tent, awning or caravan at the discretion of the site warden. Young people under eighteen years old must be accompanied by parents or guardians. Children under three years of age are free. Any visitors to residents will be admitted only on payment of the day visitor fee. While we endeavour to meet requests for particular pitches we cannot guarantee to do so. We strongly recommend booking early for high season. Please check in between noon and 9pm on day of arrival and vacate pitches by 11am on day of departure. If arriving after 5pm in low or mid season please telephone to make arrival arrangements. Admittance to the campsite is not possible after 9pm. Please note that admittance to the campsite is not possible until check in has been completed. Please note that vehicles will not be allowed access to the camping area in any case between 11pm and 8am: if you return after this time please leave your vehicle in the car park and walk to your pitch. Campfires, windbreaks linking units and clothes lines are not allowed for safety reasons. Gas or charcoal barbecues are permitted provided they are raised off the ground. Electrical equipment must comply with safety regulations for connection to the site supply. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and exercised off the campsite in designated walking areas: owners are required to clean up after them in all areas at all times. Dogs must not be left unattended. We reserve the right to reallocate any pitch not occupied by 9am on the day following its booking unless alternative arrival arrangements have been made. Park facilities including the adventure playground, tennis courts and swimming pool are free to all resident guests, as are unlimited supplies of hot water. 15 Terms and Conditions. By placing a booking with us you are confirming that you and all members of your party (if applicable) have read, understood and accepted our tariffs, terms and conditions. No booking will be confirmed unless registration forms are completed in full and returned to us prior to the arrival date. On booking full payment will be required. You will receive confirmation within seven working days: please check your details and if any are incorrect contact us immediately by telephone. Bookings are not transferable and in the event of cancellation, late arrival or early departure no refunds will be given: we strongly recommend independent insurance cover to limit your exposure in such cases. While we endeavour to give people the pitches that they request we cannot always guarantee this. The swimming pool is open Sunday to Friday from 2 May until 14 September inclusive. Please note that the pool will not be open on Saturdays. Hardball games are not allowed on the campsite. All charges include VAT at 17.5%. We reserve the right to terminate the visit of any person whose conduct is deemed detrimental to other visitors. Please observe the 10mph speed limit and note that all drivers must be licensed and have legally adequate insurance cover. Please respect your fellow guests by keeping noise to a minimum after 10pm and leaving all facilities as you would wish to find them. Any damages will be charged at cost.
