1 The Annual WHITEHEAD COMMUNITY A S S O C I AT I O N Whitehead Summer Festival 2018
2 Chairman s Address Welcome to the Whitehead Summer Festival This year s festival is possibly the biggest ever with something for everyone local history, pub quizzes, film shows, tea dances, DJs schools, Steam Train Rides, Raft Races, walks, storytelling and, of course, our main event, the Food & Folk Festival. And that s just for starters. Most events are FREE unless stated otherwise. As with the last few festivals, we have a nominated charity who will benefit from various initiatives throughout the Festival Whitehead s very own Hope House. Finally, an event of this size requires a lot of effort, not just by committee, volunteers and staff of Whitehead Community Association but by the whole town its businesses, social groups, cultural and educational associations, sporting clubs, the churches and, of course, individual townspeople. We owe a debt of gratitude to many, many people in this town and so I would like to take this opportunity to offer our sincere thanks and appreciation. Whitehead Summer Festival 2018 Nominated Charity Special thanks this year goes to Chris Lynas who has sponsored our beautiful new bunting. Front cover photo by Alan Campbell -
