1 QUO FA T A F U E R N T BERMUDA BERMUDA NATIONAL PARKS AMENDMENT ACT : 43 TABLE OF CONTENTS Citation Amends section 25(1) Repeal and replace the First Schedule Amends the Third Schedule Repeals sections 26 and 27 of the Bermuda National s Amendment Act 2009 Commencement WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the Bermuda National s Act 1986 and the Government Fees Regulations 1976; Be it enacted by The Queen s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and the House of Assembly of Bermuda, and by the authority of the same, as follows: Citation 1 This Act, which amends the Bermuda National s Act 1986 (the principal Act ), may be cited as the Bermuda National s Amendment Act Amends section 25(1) 2 Section 25(1) of the principal Act is amended by inserting, next after paragraph (f), the following (fa) prescribing fees, other than fees that are prescribed under the Government Fees Regulations 1976;. 1

2 Repeal and replace the First Schedule 3 (1) The First Schedule to the principal Act is repealed and replaced with the following FIRST SCHEDULE Map No. A1 Abbots Cliff Hamilton CLASS A PROTECTED AREAS NATURE RESERVES The following areas are hereby declared Class A protected areas and shall be managed to protect special or fragile natural features and provide limited public access. 6 C10 White's Island Pembroke Maps of the Nature Reserves and Protected Areas can be viewed (a) on the Bermuda Government portal at (b) at the Department of s; or (c) at the Ministry of Public Works (Department of Land Surveys and Registration).. Amends the Third Schedule 4 The Third Schedule to the principal Act is amended (a) (b) in paragraph 1 by repealing and replacing the number 12 with the number 13 ; in paragraph 1(b) by (i) (ii) repealing and replacing the word ten with the word eleven ; and repealing and replacing sub-paragraphs (i) to (vii) inclusive with the following (i) (ii) (iii) (iv) (v) (vi) (vii) one member from the Bermuda National Trust; one member from the Bermuda Audubon Society; one member from the National Museum of Bermuda; one member from the Bermuda Zoological Society; one member from the Bermuda Tourism Authority; two members representative of users of the System; and four members who may be considered by the Minister to have a sufficient interest or expertise in environmental protection, conservation of natural or historical resources; economic, commercial or entrepreneurial matters. Repeals sections 26 and 27 of the Bermuda National s Amendment Act Sections 26 and 27 of the Bermuda National s Amendment Act 2009 are repealed. 6

7 Commencement 6 This Act shall come into operation on the same date as the Bermuda National s Amendment Act [Assent Date: 20 November 2017] [Operative Date: 01 April 2018] 7
