2 More Hotdog Run A splendid day greeted the throngs of TBCR members and cars for the drive from Mission San Xavier to Alvernon & Lee. The unofficial car count was 30+. The drive went well, with a jump start and few missed turns. Geo Many regalia orders were taken and dues were paid. The elections were brief and everybody was happy. Page 2

We have a limited supply of items left over from last season. They are Tee Shirts in various sizes from L 2XL and Caps (Red, Green, Blue) as well as the Aussie hats. (Tees L-XL $10, 2XL $13; Caps $10, Aussie Hats $15) You will be able to order and pre pay other items at upcoming TBCR events for later delivery. We have some new items to offer this year. With the new season we also have a new vendor who will be able to offer better service and clothing options. Here are our new TBCR items (these must be ordered): Sweater Hat - Fleece Lined Beanie. It's big enough to be pulled down over the ears and the fleece is warm enough to keep them and your head warm. Available colors: Gray, Black, Royal (blue), Navy (blue), Red, Green (forest), Pink. $11.00 each. Adams Baseball Sun Shade Cap - It's "what the dermatologist recommended" to keep your neck, ears and face out of the sun. It features a long bill, wrap-around neck drape with an integral inside zipper pocket, "coolcrown mesh lining inside this hat is designed to promote cooling and minimize staining". Repels stains including "water and oil-based stains". Includes a head cinch and a collar leash to keep your hat from blowing away. UV protection... helps block the majority of UV rays. In addition to a business meeting, club recognitions will be presented, including the Founders Award. This is also the time to hear and discuss what s planned for Tubac Car Show This show, held on the Tubac golf course is coming January 26. The deadline is January 18. New for this year is online registration (see the calendar above). TBCR will drive as a group to the show. Watch for further information by . Dues Renewal 2019 dues can be paid online: go to and click shop. Checks should be mailed to the PO Box. Please note the new PO Box address. Dues are $35, unless you want the newsletter delivered by US Mail. Dues with that option are $45. Page 4

6 Little British Car Company Adventure Part 1 By Dave Germain Beaulieu, Goodwood and The Cotswolds Plus a Surprise on the Isle of Wight August and September saw a band of intrepid travelers head to England for a short view of British motoring and other attractions. Your Tucson British Car Register was represented by Jeff and Bethanne Simpson and Dave and Sharon Germain. In a series of articles, we will highlight Brooklands, Beaulieu and the Autojumble, the Goodwood Revival, the Morgan Car factory, and the Cotswalds Motor Museum with possibly a few tourist things such as Winchester Cathedral, trains, canal boats and Weald & Downland Living History Museum. If anyone is interested, the Little British Car Company is looking for interest in another similar trip this year. It is reasonably priced at about $3000 for 16 days and well-paced with a group of British Car folks, jan@lbcarco.com. Because Jeff and I don t have our pictures sorted yet, this series can start with another British auto event, the 2018 Isle of Wight International Charity Classic Car Extravaganza Special. After over two weeks of great car places, a large car show was found outside Sharon and Dave s hotel at Ryde Esplanade, during our visit to the Isle of Wight. It just happened, I did not plan for it, too close to miss. AND, as a special extra, the 3rd Annual Isle of Wight Gin Festival. 25 boutique gins to taste (with tonic) all right on the hotel grounds. Now in its 17th year, the Isle of Wight Charity Classic Car event had 790 cars. Vehicles from all over the UK and mainland Europe attended this unique two-day show. This was a spectacular collection of vintage, classic, custom and retro cars and other rare vehicles. There were literally thousands of car enthusiasts who descended on the Isle of Wight. Many marque clubs attended, with a pier full of Rolls, a pier full of Bentleys, a pier full of American muscle cars and Aston Martins - alone said to be worth well in excess of 5 million. If James Bond were there he would not know which one to choose. There were clubs for 3 wheelers, mopeds, MGs, Trumphs, Lotus, and many other usual and unusual British makes parked all along the esplanade. If you happen to be anywhere near the Isle of Wight Sep 14 & , this is a great show. Just book your ferry early. Page 6
