3 Club Activities These pictures are from the All European/British Car Show held back on November 3rd at the Tucson Estates. This will be the venue for the RoundUp car show, the first weekend in March. You can see what a nice place this is for a car show. Thank you George, for the great pictures Second Saturday Breakfast Run (The Mystery Run) Despite the inclement (I mean real nasty) weather on the 8th, a fairly large contingent of brave souls met at the departure point on Campbell and River Road at 7:00 a.m. Some members were actually hearty souls (or fool-hearty), and arrived in their LBCs. Among them were Don and Joan Martin in their side-curtainless Morgan, Jake Jacob and Jonathan Triplett, to name a few. Other folks were a little less masochistic and drove their modern cars. After a short meeting and 100% consensus, the group decided to post-pone the mystery run and go to Mother Hubbard s for breakfast. Definitely a great plan!

5 TBCR Holiday Party The Annual Holiday party was held at the Palo Verde Holiday Inn this year, giving members a taste for the venue for the upcoming RoundUp. The facility is bright, cheerful and spacious...and the food was very good. Attendees had a good time with entertainment provided by the TBCR Choir, a lighting of the TBCR Lucas Christmas Tree, and a fine dissertation by George Skinner, aka Steve Ford on carburetors.

6 TBCR EVENTS December 29: The Mystery Drive revisited. Meet at the Starbucks on River Road just west of Campbell at 7:00 a.m. For a 7:30 sharp departure for parts unknown. 10 Drive Time As the year draws to a close, Megan and I wish you all a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year. The past year was a great year for driving here in the Old Pueblo. After reviewing the past breakfast runs, Cruise & Schmooze runs and the new British Car Café it seems that we had almost 30 driving events. That s pretty good considering we started years ago with 3-5 people driving for cheap eats at Little Anthony s Diner. In 2007 we had a Breakfast Run with 32 people and a C&S with 40. We saw days where we had cars motoring across our desert landscapes. So, since I was newly elected (or conscripted) for 2008, I hope to bring you some new and exciting drives and other related events. This past month we held a C&S on Nov. 24, just after Thanksgiving. I thought we might have a dozen brave souls that needed to get away from family and turkey. Well, much to my surprise, the RSVPs were for 36 and we ended up with 40. After an hour touring the eastside of Tucson, carefully avoiding all shopping centers our travelers enjoyed an afternoon wine tasting and foods at 58 and Holding on Broadway. We enjoyed fun, conversation and a few great red wines for about 2 hours. I received good feed back on this type of not-lunch and not-dinner event, so you can look for more of the same in nd The 2 Saturday Breakfast Run in December is our annual Mystery Run. Just show up on time with a full tank of gas and you get a map and a nice long run to breakfast. Well, we were severely rained th OUT this time on Dec. 8. Nevertheless, 18 intrepid travelers showed up at 7:15 AM and jointly decided to scrub the run and have some warm and dry eats at Mother Hubbard s. The Mystery Run is th now rescheduled for Saturday, December 29. We will depart from the Starbucks at the NW corner of Campbell and River Rd at 7:30 AM for a wild ride through the desert. I can guarantee (weather permitting) stunning vistas and scenery of Old Arizona that is very close to home. We will have breakfast about ¾ of the way through the drive and end up back in central Tucson. As for 2008 what do you want? I ll take suggestions and any help you want to give. If you want to eat at a certain restaurant, make the plan and I ll plan the drive; or, give me the details and I ll see if I can get them to give us separate checks! Our two biggest events in early 2008 that occur before Round Up are the Tubac Car Show on Jan. 12 and the Tucson British Motor Car Classic on Feb. 3. The Tubac Show occurs on the normal 2nd Saturday Breakfast Run, so we ll do something in January to make that one up. I will send out information on meeting times and places for our drive to Tubac, so we can drive there together, as we have in previous years. The Tucson British Motor Car Classic will be a brunch at the El Conquistador Country Club on the NW side. This is a joint function with the Jaguar Club of Tucson and was well attended last year. Watch your and the Octagon for details. Thanks again for all the fun and see you in Ben Ben Cohen, Driving Events Coordinator
