Clearly Fujitsu resent the gains you have achieved locally for fear fellow workers at other sites will also see the benefits of joining a union. Your fight reveals how unfree the 'free market' is. Huge companies like Fujitsu make their massive profits from 'free' trade yet will not share some of those profits with the very workforce that made them. They use their freedom to exploit their workforce yet the workforce do not have their freedom to have collective bargaining. You know you have your work cut out but your fight reveals to a new generation of employees why unions were formed and why they are still essential today. Congratulations on the action you have taken so far and hoping you will not need to take much more to win. You have Fujitsu to deal with, we have Gordon Brown. AMICUS and PCS fighting on in the 21st Century - a fight started in England in 1834 with the arrest of the Tolpuddle Martyrs. Their fight then is your fight now - for union recognition and the right to have a say in the price of your labour. Whilst the establishment congratulates itself for the abolition of slavery 200 years ago they're rather quiet about wage slavery still oppressing millions today.

I think that you and your colleagues are doing some great work with your campaigns/events and general organisation in an effort to stand up against issues that left UN-challenged will ultimately affect us all. I also know that issues of this nature can be personally stressful, and extremely hard work. To have the support of the membership is vital and reassuring, but it is you, and your close colleagues, that will be awake long into the night planning your next moves, while others are resting. I get the impression reading your up-dates that you are making progress albeit slow. you must be becoming a real thorn to your company who will not like the type of attention they are currently receiving. If the dispute continues, I don't know the level of financial support that you are currently receiving from Branches, but most of us will know another Branch close by. it may be an idea to notify all the current Branches that are contributing to see if they can involve a second Branch to offer financial support to your worthwhile cause. and if successful this will double your current support financially and may further, be worth advertising to Fujitsu. Anyway, as I have already stated you will continue to receive Loughborough Central Branch support, and if they are not already contributing, I will contact the Loughborough General Branch in the next few days. And finally, I know it will be difficult, but try to give yourselves a little rest from the dispute, if only a day off each, once in a while, it will do you all good, these issues can take more out of you than you sometimes think.
