Day 2, Friday, 7 APRIL Your cruise holiday will start in Amsterdam, undoubtedly one of the jewels of Europe. The city of Amsterdam, capital of the Netherlands, is often called Venice of the North with a history dating back over 700 years. It is home to countless canals and more than a thousand bridges. You embark the ship from 3:00pm today and in the evening you will enjoy an Amsterdam canal cruise to take in this beautiful city at night. Day 3, Saturday, 8 APRIL This morning explore Amsterdam on a guided city bus & walking tour. With its characteristic canals surrounded by narrow, low and crooked 17th-century houses, Amsterdam is, w ithout a doubt, one of the most charming capital cities in Europe. Amsterdam is also a real treat for art-lovers and is home to over 50 museums, many of them famous across the globe. And of course you ll fi nd out why everybody in the Netherlands owns a bike! After this morning s tour enjoy lunch on board. This afternoon, MS Bellejour departs its mooring to begin your Tulip Time Europe River Cruise. Day 4, Sunday, 9 APRIL This morning wake up in Enkhuizen, one of the largest marinas in the Netherlands. Take in the rich history of Enkhuizen as you walk through the old inner city with its numerous state mansions, canals, churches, city walls and harbours. After the walking tour enjoy cheese tasting in one of the local cheese shops. MS Bellejour will set sail at midday with lunch served onboard as we make our way to Hoorn. In Hoorn, you ll uncover the history of the powerful Dutch East India Company, which sent beautiful ships to trade with Asiatic countries during the 17th and 18th centuries. Enjoy a guided walking tour through Hoorn followed by free time at leisure. The ship will overnight in Hoorn so you can discover the town by night. Day 5, Monday, 10 APRIL Enjoy the morning sailing and after lunch on-board MS Bellejour, you ll enjoy visiting the nearby village of Kinderdijk. The most important aspect of UNESCO World Heritage listed Kinderdijk is undoubtedly the unique collection of 19 authentic windmills, which are considered a Dutch icon throughout the entire world. We will visit one of the windmills and take a look inside. Following this, a quaint boat will pick us up and sail the canal of the Overwaard. You will have a beautiful view of all the windmills and the area from the water. We set sail from Kinderdijk late afternoon to arrive in Rotterdam where you can experience this dynamic city on a nighttime tour. Day 6, Tuesday, 11 APRIL Your floating hotel will be docked in the heart of Rotterdam while you explore the city of Delft, known for Delft Blue, the House of Orange and Johannes Vermeer. When you think of Delft, you fi rst think of Delftware - and that is no surprise when you consider that Delft ceramics have been an important export product for more than 400 years. Nevertheless, Delft has more to offer guests than just ceramics; the New Church on the Market dates back to 1381 and is closely connected to the House of Oranje- Nassau, the Dutch Royal Family. And then there is Johannes Vermeer: one of the best-known artists from the Dutch Golden Age. In the morning we will visit a Delft Blue factory where you ll get an explanation and demonstration on how this beautiful ceramic is made. After the tour you will have plenty of time to have a look around the shop and maybe even find a nice souvenir to take home. Before we head into the charming city centre of Delft for a guided walking tour we will enjoy a delicious lunch in a local restaurant. The coach will take you from the magnifi cent St. Michael s Cathedral to the world famous Atomium, the Chinese Pavilion and the Japanese Tower. Via the Royal residence van Laken and the impressive Court of Justice, we drive to the remarkable King s Square and the Royal Palace. Your coach will continue to the centre of town from where you will continue walking to the beautiful Grote Market. Your guide will explain the history of the unique City Hall and the beautiful Guild houses. Day 8, Thursday, 13 APRIL Belgium s second largest city and biggest port, Antwerp, is defi nitely worth a visit. In the mid-16th century it was considered one of Europe s most important cities and home to baroque artist Pieter Paul Rubens. Despite severe WWII bombings, the city retains an intriguing medieval heart with café-filled cobbled lanes, a riverside fortress and a truly impressive Cathedral. You will explore Antwerp s historical centre with a guided walking tour. Belgium is a real culinary treat, with a range of edible specialties that the country is famous for. One of them is the mouth-watering Belgian chocolate which you will be able to experience after your guided walking tour. This morning you will have a guided walking tour of Nijmegen. The rich cultural history of Nijmegen dates back 2000 years, when the Romans arrived and Nijmegen grew to become the biggest city of The Netherlands from that time. Some centuries later Emperor Charlemagne chose the Valkhof to build a palace and it became one of the most important places of his empire, mainly because of its strategic point, on top of the hill with a perfect view over the River Waal. Day 10, Saturday, 15 APRIL Enjoy the charming city of Düsseldorf with a guided city coach and walking tour that will take you on a journey back in time, helping you to better understand how this city came about. After the extensive coach tour, you will arrive in the centre of the old town, where you will continue with a walking tour with your guide. From there you can decide to return to the ship by coach or to leisurely return to the ship at your own pace. Experience one of the most beautiful towns in Germany with more than 2000 years of history, on a guided walking tour. The great strategic location, at the confl uence of the Rhine and Mosel Rivers, was the reason the Romans called the city Confl uentes, which changed to the more Germanic spelling of Koblenz in The romantic streets of Koblenz show a variety of famous stories shaped around many local traditions and sites. Discover the picturesque squares and the impressive monument of Emperor Wilhelm I at the German Corner. After your tour you may like to make your way to the Fortress Ehrenbreitstein which overlooks Koblenz and is accessible with a cable car. Day 12, Monday, 17 APRIL This morning you ll be transported by minibus all the way to the top of the hill where you ll fi nd the beautifully renovated Reichsburg Castle. Once inside, a guide will walk you through the different castle chambers, explaining the long and fascinating history including how the castle changed hands numerous times and, like most castles, also changed its form over the centuries. Aboard the wine-grower express mini-train, you ll drive from the ship s mooring point into the idyllic vineyards of Rüdesheim. The train will drop you off in the heart of town, from where you ll visit the famous Siegfried s Mechanical Music Museum, with the chance to listen to as many as 350 selfplaying musical instruments from over three centuries. Afterwards enjoy a wine tasting at a local winery in this beautiful town. Day 14, Wednesday, 19 APRIL Cologne is the oldest city in Germany, and we ll be spending a full day here. You ll enjoy a guided walking tour of the city sights to uncover over 2000 years of history dating back as early as Roman times. Your guide will highlight the various cultural and historical sites of Cologne, including the Great St. Martin Church and the Historical Town Hall. The tour will fi nish at the impressive Dom Cathedral, where you are free to explore the city and cathedral on your own. This afternoon experience a real German pub crawl in Cologne with a local guide. 13 Seniors Holiday Travel Team Terms of Trade and Schedule of Fees RESERVATIONS AND PAYMENTS Bookings for this exclusive cruise package must be made with Seniors Holiday Travel Team. On confirmation of your booking, a written confirmation will be sent to you. An option will be given for 7 days. Before the option expires it will be necessary for you to pay a non-refundable deposit of $2,000 per person. The deposit secures your holiday as requested. Failure to pay the deposit by the option due date may result in the cancellation of your booking. Final payment is due 120 days prior to sailing. If your booking is made within 120 days prior to sailing, full payment will be due immediately. FARES a) The fares quoted in this brochure are shown in Australian dollars and are based on a twin sharing basis. Single prices apply to persons travelling alone and offer sole use of cabin. b) Schedules and availability, fare conditions and prices can change at any time with or without notice. Price changes may occur for reasons or matters outside our control which increase the cost of the products or service. Such factors include adverse currency fluctuations, fuel surcharges, taxes and airfare increases. PAYMENTS All prices are based on payment by cash, direct deposit or cheque. A credit card surcharge of 2% for Visa and Mastercard and 3% for American Express Card applies if you elect to use them for payment. If you opt to make a direct deposit into our nominated bank account it may take at least 24 hours to be processed into our account. BOOKING CHANGES, CANCELLATIONS AND CANCELLATIONS FEES a) In the unfortunate event that you should have to cancel your holiday, we must be notified in writing. The day that we receive this notice in writing will be considered the date that your cancellation has been made. Certain cancellation fees apply to your holidays if cancelled after a deposit or final payment has been made. b) A fee of $55 per person will be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. c) Notice of cancellation must be made in writing to us. HEALTH & FITNESS/ACTIVITY LEVEL You must ensure that you are aware of any health requirements for your travel and that you are able to participate in the activities included in your itinerary. If you are unsure about your fitness to travel, please check with your GP or specialist clinic. Payment of deposit to Seniors Holiday Travel Team acts as a warranty that the traveller is reasonably healthy and/or fit to participate in the tour. Seniors Holiday Travel Team reserves the right to remove a traveller from a tour at the traveller s own expense, if their health/fitness interferes with the tour or other traveller s tour experience in any way. We do not, nor are we required to, provide carers or assistants for those with reduced mobility or other health needs. In particular, tour guides, coach drivers, and your fellow passengers will not act as assistants or carers in these circumstances. TRAVEL INSURANCE Travel Insurance is highly recommended for all travellers. Seniors Holiday Travel Team can assist with your travel insurance needs. Please ensure you take note of the special inclusions and exclusions as they may relate to your particular circumstances. Pre-existing Medical conditions and cover for these are approved or rejected by the Insurer. If you have taken out another Travel Insurance Policy or believe you have adequate cover from a credit card policy, please provide a photocopy and details of the insurance cover that you hold. Please note that if you have Insurance from another source and subsequently require our assistance in processing an insurance claim, this will incur a fee of at least $200. TRAVEL DOCUMENTATION Travel documents include (without limitation) airline tickets, hotel vouchers, tour vouchers or any other documentation used to confirm an arrangement with a service provider. Travel documents may be subject to certain conditions and/or restrictions including being non-refundable, non-changeable and subject to cancellation and/or amendment fees. These documents cannot be transferred to another person to use. All airline tickets must be issued in the name of the passport holder. An incorrect name on a booking may result in an inability to use that booking and it may be cancelled. Any errors in names, dates and timings on your documentation are your responsibility if not advised at time of booking. As a general rule, your travel documents are issued two weeks prior to departure. For any amendments after final payment a fee of $55 per document plus supplier fees will be charged. ITINERARY VARIATIONS Sometimes the impact of weather or water levels, and/ or bridges along the river, will require alterations to the itinerary. Changes to itinerary as a result of water levels or other conditions may result in tours being missed. In such instances all attempts will be made to make up the tour or substitute it. Every effort will be made to keep itineraries or hotels. Itineraries are subject to change without notice and any changes to itineraries will not result in eligibility for a refund. FORCE MAJEURE We will take all care and skill to make sure that the holiday arrangements as per the brochure are delivered to all guests. However we cannot accept liability or pay and compensation for the cruise or for any services promoted in our brochure where the cruise or service is not delivered because of, or is affected by circumstances which are outside our control, also known as force majeure. These included, but are not limited to, war, threat of war, act of terrorists, political unrest, riots, natural disasters, health risks and epidemics, disruption to fuel supplies and mechanical difficulties which could not have been avoided or anticipated. LIABILITY We will not be held responsible for any injury, illness, death, loss of enjoyment or loss or damaged property which is the result of an act or omission by the affected person or by a third party not connected with the provision of the holidays as set out in the brochure. We are only liable when the occurrence is due to our own negligence or wilful fault. THIRD PARTY SUPPLIERS Our tour itinerary is a guide only and although we will make every reasonable effort to adhere to the programme, we reserve the right to make any alterations as necessary. Alterations may come about due to weather conditions, strikes, public holidays, local festivals, renovations and/or upgrades or other reasons. Any additional expense incurred by the passenger is not our responsibility. Your travel arrangements are subject to the booking conditions of each travel provider you are using. Seniors Holiday Travel Team is responsible for advising upon travel arrangements and making the bookings. Seniors Holiday Travel Team is not responsible for cancellations of tours, loss or damage directly or indirectly caused by the airline or suppliers and other transport delays or reschedules, or insolvency, loss or damage to person or property, delays, accidents, acts of war and force majeure impacting upon your travel arrangements. Seniors Holiday Travel Team acts only as an agent. Airfares included in your package holiday are provided in economy class. Seniors Holiday Travel Team cannot be responsible for seating allocation. PRIVACY STATEMENT Your contact information will be required by third party suppliers to accept and confirm a booking. Privacy Laws safeguard your personal details from being distributed for marketing purposes. Your information may be used by Seniors Holiday Travel Team for the purpose of relaying travel related information about you to third parties. You agree that our Seniors Holiday Travel Team representative or third party suppliers may take photographs of you while you are on holiday and that these may be used in our Group Brochures and/ or advertising, publicity material or online without obtaining any further consent or payments in respect of such photographs and/or films. OTHER CONDITIONS It is your responsibility to ensure you have read all of the booking conditions and to accurately complete the booking application form and provide relevant associated documentation. Be sure to ask your travel agent for advice concerning passport and visa requirements. BOOKING ARRANGEMENTS Your booking arrangements are with Seniors Holiday Travel Team, and the passenger making the booking shall be deemed to have accepted the booking conditions.
