An overnight flight will bring us to the vibrant city of Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands. Meals: D Day 2 Amsterdam, the Netherlands After clearing customs in Amsterdam, we ll board a deluxe motorcoach and begin our exploration of the city. Later, we ll transfer to our home for 7 nights, the elegant Amadeus Silver II. Gather with your fellow travelers for a cocktail welcome party or rest up after your long journey overseas. Meals: D Day 4 Rhine Cruising / Cologne, Germany Enjoy a day of cruising as we travel along the Rhine River. This afternoon, we ll enjoy a walking tour of Cologne, Germany s 4th largest city and a cultural hub. Learn about its 2,000-year history and visit the Cologne Cathedral, a symbol of the city. Meals: B, L, D Day 5 Moselle River / Cochem, Germany Take in a scenic cruise today along the Moselle River and into German wine country. Discover the old town of Cochem, Germany, located in the most romantic part of the Moselle Valley and nestled between the river and ascending vineyards. Cochem boasts narrow streets, twisting alleys, and medieval town gates, churches and walls. Looking up, you ll find the 19th-century Reichsburg Castle atop the town s hill. Meals: B, L, D Day 6 Koblenz / Rudesheim The Rhine and Moselle rivers come together in Koblenz, originally established as a Roman military post around 8 BC. A walking tour will take you through the picturesque town that combines an abundance of culture and history with trade representative of a modern economy. Next, journey up the renown Rhine Gorge to Rudesheim where you can enjoy some leisure time this evening exploring this famous wine village. Meals: B, L, D Canal in Amsterdam Day 3 Amsterdam Canal Tour / North Holland A city tour of Amsterdam and a narrated canal trip will have us taking in the history and unique nature of a city that is always on the move. Our tour will include a trip to Hoorn in North Holland. Here, we will re-board the Silver II for some afternoon cruising along the waters of the Ijsselmeer. 5 Cochem, Germany Day 7 Mannheim / Heidelberg / Speyer Our deluxe river ship will port in Mannheim and we ll board a coach for a trip to Heidelberg, known for Heidelberg University founded in the 14th century. See the red-sandstone ruins of Heidelberg Castle and perhaps buy a Cuckoo Clock from one of the woodcarver shops. Next, cruise to the ancient walled city of Speyer to take in its many churches and its colossal cathedral. A Captain s Gala dinner tonight will bring an incredible day of discovery to a close. Meals: B, L, D Day 9 Basel / Lucerne This morning enjoy breakfast and our final time on board the Silver II. After disembarking in Basel,we ll have a look at the town before continuing south to the stunning town of Lucerne. We ll enjoy a city tour and learn about Lucerne s history while admiring the surrounding Swiss Alps. This evening is at your leisure to relax and enjoy this picturesque city. Meals: B Panorama Bar - Amadeus Silver II Rhine River Day 8 Strasbourg, France Strasbourg, France, will delight you today as our city tour explores this town rich in both German and French influences. Medieval buildings, cobblestone streets, juxtaposed with modern manufacturing and engineering create the makeup of this large capital city. There will be no shortage of sightseeing or learning during our time in Strasbourg. Meals: B, L, D Day 10 Lucerne / Mt. Pilatus Today we will journey to Mt. Pilatus, a mountain massif overlooking Lucerne. Our visit will provide the opportunity to venture to the top and enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding landscape.
