4 Tour Itinerary Day 1, Friday, 10 May Fly from Australia to Taiwan s capital city Taipei. Enjoy your overnight flight service with meals provided on board. Day 2, Saturday, 11 May Welcome to Taipei! Upon arrival at Taoyuan International Airport, you will be met and assisted to your coach for your transfer to the hotel. Enjoy an early check-in and rest. Later in the afternoon you will be met in the hotel lobby at 1:00 PM for an afternoon tour of the Northern Coast. This tour visits Keelung City, Keelung Harbour, Buddha Statue, Yehliu Park and Queen s Head rock formation. At Chung Cheng Park, you can view the huge statue of the Goddess of Mercy and also a panoramic view of Keelung Harbour. After your tour, return to the hotel for your Welcome Dinner. Stay: Howard Plaza Taipei or similar Day 3, Sunday, 12 May After breakfast, you will be met by your guide in the hotel lobby at 08:30 AM. Board the coach for an enjoyable Half Day Taipei City Tour. You will be driving past the Presidential Office Building, Chiang Kai- Shek Memorial Hall (Taiwan Democracy Memorial Hall), Martyrs Shrine also named War Memorial, National Palace Museum, Chinese Temple and the Handicraft Centre. In the afternoon, drive to Northeast Coast and visit Pitou Cape and the Nanya Rocks Formation before moving on to Chiufen Village. The villages of Chiufen were once the centre of gold mining in Taiwan. The gold is no longer around but these quaint old villages, built of closely-packed houses clinging to steep mountainsides, continue to offer enchanting scenery and fascinating glimpses into the lifestyles of the past. After your big day, return to Taipei and enjoy dinner at your hotel. Stay: Howard Plaza Taipei or similar Day 4, Monday, 13 May After breakfast in your hotel, meet with your guide in the hotel lobby at 08:30 AM. Board the coach for the drive to Sun Moon Lake, located in the middle of Taiwan and situated 762 metres above sea level in the lofty mountains of Central Taiwan. Along the way the tour will stop at the famous Wenwu Temple, also known as Literature-Warrior Temple, dedicated to Confucius as Master of Pen and to Kuan Ti as Master of Sword, also visit the Holy Monk Shrine and Ci En Pagoda. After touring around Sun Moon Lake you will check in to your hotel, Where the Fleur de Chine Hotel, you can enjoy the natural hot springs available. You can also enjoy the walking trails, biking, hiking or boating facilities available at the Lake. Stay: Fleur De Chine or similar Day 5, Tuesday, 14 May After breakfast, meet with your guide in the hotel lobby and check out of your hotel. Passing by the lovely small and old Jiji Railway Station, drive to Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Monastery, the most famous Buddhist sacred place of southern Taiwan. Here you will learn about Buddhism during the monastery walking tour even getting the chance to visit the Buddha Memorial Center where you ll have the opportunity to communicate with some of the monks and nuns. There will be opportunity to taste a Buddhist vegetarian lunch (at own expense). Afterwards, head back on to your coach and drive to Kaohsiung City, which is the second largest city of Taiwan. The tour will take you to Love River and Liuhe Night Market. Afterwards, check in to your hotel for a night in Kaohsiung. Stay: Grand Hi-Lai Hotel or similar Day 6, Wednesday, 15 May After breakfast you will enjoy a morning tour to Kenting National Park. This National Park is located at Taiwan s most southern tip and has around 37 miles of coral-rimmed shoreline along three sides of the park providing its main attractions. Stops will be made at Eluanbi light house, Maobitou coastal scenic area and Longpan Park. Afterwards, your group will then drive to Taitung via the Southern Link Highway. Tonight you will spend a night in Zhiben where you can even enjoy a natural hot spring within your hotel! Our tour will stop at Xiaoyeliu, Sanxiantai, Shitiping (Stone Steps), marble factory and showroom. Towards the late afternoon, we will proceed to Hualien for an overnight stay in the Taroko National Park. Stay: Silks Place Taroko or similar Day 8, Friday, 17 May After breakfast, head out for a visit to Taroko National Park. Taroko Gorge is an exceptionally beautiful, narrow ravine created by the Liwu River which has cut deep into the mountains of solid marble. A road carved into sheer walls of rock rewinding its way past forested peaks and cliffs towering thousands of feet above it, while hundreds of feet below a river roars past gigantic marble boulders. Passing by Tunnel of Nine Turns, Ci Mu Bridge, stops will be made at Swallow Grotto, Changchun Temple and Shakadang Trail. We will then drive back to Taipei with a stop at Qingshui Cliffs, then a drive through Syue-Shan Long Tunnel (12.9 Kms), to arrive back to Taipei around 6:00PM for check in at your hotel. 7 Travel Team Terms of Trade and Schedule of Fees PRICES Schedules and availability, fare conditions and prices can change at any time. Price changes may occur for reason or matters outside our control which increase the cost of the products or service. Such factors include adverse currency fluctuations, fuel surcharges, taxes and airfare increases. DEPOSITS Travel Team requires a booking deposit which is charged per person and deducted from your final balance. The deposit is non-refundable if you should cancel. i. 1st deposit for this tour is $600 per person and is due within 7 days of booking. ii. Final payment is due 90 days prior to departure. PAYMENTS All prices are based on payment by cash, direct deposit or cheque. A credit card surcharge of 1.41% for Visa, 0.91% for Visa Debit, 1.27% for Mastercard, 0.87% for Mastercard Debit and 3% for American Express Card applies if you elect to use them for payment. If you opt to make a direct deposit into our nominated bank account it may take at least 24 hours to be processed into our account. CANCELLATIONS, REFUNDS & AMENDMENTS Any cancellations of the Tour will result in the following cancellation fees: - 90 days or more prior to departure, loss of deposit plus the cost of the airline ticket if issued. - Less than 90 days prior to departure, 100% of the tour package price. Cancellation must be made in writing for your reservation to be cancelled. HEALTH & FITNESS/ACTIVITY LEVEL You must ensure that you are aware of any health requirements for your travel and that you are able to participate in the activities included in your itinerary. If you are unsure about your fitness to travel, please check with your GP or specialist clinic. Payment of deposit to Travel Team acts as a warranty that the traveller is reasonably healthy and/or fit to participate in the tour. Travel Team reserves the right to remove a traveller from a tour at the traveller's own expense, if their health/ fitness interferes with the tour or other travellers tour experience in any way. We do not, nor are we required to, provide carers or assistants for those with reduced mobility or other health needs. In particular, tour guides, coach drivers, and your fellow passengers will not act as assistants or carers in these circumstances. TRAVEL INSURANCE Travel Insurance is highly recommended for all travellers. Travel Team can assist with your travel insurance needs. Please ensure you take note of the special inclusions and exclusions as they may relate to your particular circumstances. Pre-existing Medical conditions and cover for these are approved or rejected by the Insurer. If you have taken out another Travel Insurance Policy or believe you have adequate cover from a credit card policy we will require a photocopy and details of the insurance cover that you hold. Please note that if you have insurance from another source and subsequently require our assistance in processing an insurance claim, this will incur a fee of at least $220. TRAVEL DOCUMENTATION Travel documents include (without limitation) airline tickets, hotel vouchers, tour vouchers or any other documentation used to confirm an arrangement with a service provider. Travel documents may be subject to certain conditions and/or restrictions including being non-refundable, non-changeable and subject to cancellation and/or amendment fees. These documents cannot be transferred to another person to use. All airline tickets must be issued in the name of the passport/photo id holder. An incorrect name on a booking may result in an inability to use that booking and it may be cancelled. Any errors in names, dates and timings on your documentation will be your responsibility if not advised at time of booking. As a general rule, your travel documents are issued by the service providers two weeks prior to departure. For any amendments after final payment a fee of $55 per document plus supplier fees will be charged. THIRD PARTY SUPPLIERS Our tour itinerary is a guide only and although we will make every reasonable effort to adhere to the programme, we reserve the right to make any alterations as necessary. Alterations may come about due to weather conditions, strikes, public holidays, local festivals, renovations and/or upgrades or other reasons. Any additional expense incurred by the passenger is not our responsibility. Your travel arrangements are subject to the booking conditions of each travel provider you are using. Travel Team is responsible for advising upon travel arrangements and making the bookings. Travel Team is not responsible for cancellations of tours, loss or damage directly or indirectly caused by the airline or suppliers and other transport delays or reschedules, or insolvency, loss or damage to person, property delays, accidents, acts of war and force majeure impacting upon your travel arrangements. Travel Team acts only as an agent. Airfares included in your package holiday are provided in economy class. Travel Team cannot be responsible for seating allocation. PRIVACY STATEMENT Your contact information will be required by third party suppliers to accept and confirm a booking. Privacy Laws safeguard your personal details from being distributed for marketing purposes. Your information may be used by Travel Team for the purpose of relaying travel related information about you to third parties. You agree that our Travel Team representative or third party suppliers may take photographs of you while you are on holiday and that these may be used in our Group Brochures and/or advertising, publicity material or online without obtaining any further consent or payments in respect of such photographs and/or films.
