2 2 Business of the Month Alternative wellness has come to FM in a unique way. World renown sound-based therapist Dorinne Davis semi-retired to FM to be near family. She brought with her, her Davis Model of Sound Intervention, and offers her model through The Davis Center, now at 5900 N Burdick St, Ste 102F, East Syracuse on Mondays only, and through her NJ Outreaches every three months (because her NJ clients won t let her fully retire). Through her years of research, she discovered a subtle energy system that exists between our voice, ear, and brain and her work helps each person balance the resonance or vibrational energy between those three areas to keep the body in harmonic balance. Her model identifies whether any of the 21 different sound-based therapies that she is trained in will help promote each person s ability to self-heal. In semi-retirement, she administers her proprietary Diagnostic Evaluation for Therapy Protocol (DETP ) and them directs the client towards the correct therapies (she used to offer all of them). She currently only offers BioAcoustics and Cymatherapy which work on supporting wellness. She refers to practitioners for the other therapies who support her overall approach. Her model creates change for those with learning, development and wellness imbalances. She has helped individuals with autism, ADHD, developmental challenges, dyslexia, and many wellness challenges. She does not work on any specific issue or diagnosis, but rather directs the body to self-heal. It is a whole body approach to wellness, which is complementary to all medical approaches. She has worked with physicians, OT s, PT s, Speech Pathologists, chiropractors and many more practitioners to support their patients on the path towards wellness. She is the author of 5 books with a new one coming out next year, and has authored chapters in other books including ones on autism. She had an Autism One radio show for many years and a CBS alternative radio show called Sound Effects with Dorinne Davis. She holds a patent on a device that will help people self-balance daily to function to their best ability. Her work can be found at and Ideally in semiretirement, she is looking for an investor to share her approach for future generations. Contact: or ddavis@thedaviscenter.com. Congratulations Marc Baum of the All Things Oz Museum on being elected President of the neighboring Greater Sullivan Area Chamber of Commerce. Congratulations to Lori Lewis / Eagle News and Cazenovia Republican on being elected 2017 President of the Greater Cazenovia Chamber of Commerce.
