16 FINE DINING One of Belgium s 40 best restaurants and member of the Alliance Gastronomique, newly refurbished gourmet Restaurant La Source holds 2 Michelin stars and is rated Gault&Millau 4 toques, 17/20 points. Chef Ralf Berendsen has headed the kitchen at La Source since 2011 and is instrumental in its success. Before coming to Lanaken, Chef Berendsen worked at other Michelin-starred and top restaurants and Relais & Châteaux hotels. His finest haute cuisine creations prove that opposites do attract and global culinary influences can merge in perfect harmony with signature dishes such as Trio of Langoustine with Tandoori Masala, Miso and Couscous and French Foie Gras with Chinese Yuzu Tangerine and Belgian Ginger Beer. The fine dining chef s exquisite dishes can be enjoyed in the stylish surroundings of La Source with a view of the partially glazed kitchen and the landscaped garden. In warmer weather dining is offered outdoors on the terrace, named Belgium s most beautiful restaurant terrace by the 2015 Gault&Millau Restaurant Guide. The wine list at La Source currently features around 400 fine wines. 16

17 CLASSIC, REGIONAL DISHES WITH A TWIST A second restaurant, Le Bistrot, is open throughout the day for light meals inspired by classic regional specialities using best quality, seasonal produce sourced from the Limburg region. Le Bistrot extends a warm welcome to corporate diners with excellent value for money options, from a quick lunch of starter and main, to a 6-course dinner including starter, soup, entremet, main, cheese and dessert. A relaxed smart-casual ambiance is enhanced by the open fireplace and in warmer weather dining is offered outdoors on the terrace. 17

18 ACCOMMODATION The Domaine s 59 stylish rooms are located in three buildings Le Manoir, La Villa or La Forêt. Rooms are luxuriously decorated and offer a welcoming atmosphere and absolute tranquillity in natural surroundings. Accommodation sizes range from 20.5sqm to 45sqm depending on the category. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, minibar, flat-screen TV and Nespresso coffee machine. Guests at the Domaine also benefit from complimentary Wi-Fi, car parking and daily access to facilities at Spa Retreat La Forêt between 7am and 10pm. LE MANOIR 23 rooms The grand main building also houses La Source and Le Bistrot restaurants, eight salons and 23 Flamant-style rooms. In ambience and layout, Le Manoir exudes classic elegance. 18

The Limburg region s canals are an ideal opportunity for canoeing, kayaking or sailing, with over 2,000km of car-free, signposted paths alongside the waterways for cyclists, joggers, Nordic walkers and hikers. For easy and interesting day trips, La Butte aux Bois is surrounded by attractive towns and cities in three countries, including Düsseldorf, Cologne, Brussels, Bruges, Antwerp, Liège and Aachen.
