10 CHILE FIRST PLACE IN LATIN AMERICA IN HUMAN DEVELOPMENT INDEX Accordingly to a recent report from the United Nations Program for Development, Chile reached the first place in Latin-America, in the Index of Human Development (Index 0.822) and the 41 place at World level. The. First place at the world level was Norway with The same report establish that Chile also is leader in Latin America in GDP per capita with US $ Whereas the average for the region was US $ Regarding the life expectance this was 78.8 years compared with 74.9 years average for the Region Source ; PNUD, El Mercurio August 2014

27 10 YEARS FTA CHILE-KOREA Chile quadrupled exports to South Korea This implies an annual growth of 15%, in the last 10 years Korea is the sixth largest trading partner Chile (EU and Mercosur) The FTA Chile-Korea, marked a milestone as it was the first FTA between a Latin American country and one Asian Economy. It was a major step in the penetration of Chile in the Asia Pacific Region Today the main cars, trucks, phones, computers and televisions imported from Korea pay 0% custom tax in Chile For example the import of vehicles of Korean origin has grown by 377% in 10 years
