PAGE 2 Introduction If you want to gain an insight into the Andean country of Peru, with its Incan and Spanish Colonial history, its Quechua heritage and amazing landscapes, this new discovery holiday is hard to beat. Flying in to Cusco, we ease the process of altitude acclimatization by spending the first 4 nights of the holiday at a rather lower elevation, in and around the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Our cultural immersion begins here, spending time with Quechua families at remote villages, learning about traditional methods of agriculture and textile weaving. Hiking to fascinating Inca ruins, we also visit the traditional Sunday Market at Pisac, before taking the train to matchless Machu Picchu for a guided tour. Visits to the salt pans at Maras and the Incan terracing at Moray end our time in the Sacred Valley, as we travel back to the Andean capital of Cusco for a city tour. By now well-acclimatised and ready to explore, a free day in Cusco, one of Latin America's most exciting cities, is a welcome and appropriate addition to the holiday. We then make a spectacular crossing of the Altiplano (and the continental divide) to reach our final destination, Lake Titicaca. Here, a host of new experiences awaits us, as we stay with a local community, before taking a boat trip onto the lake to visit both Taquile Island and the very unusual floating reed islands of the Uros people. A final-day visit to the pre-incan burial site at Sillustani is a great way to sign off. Visit the sites, meet the people. Viva El Peru! Explore International. This holiday is part of our Explore International range. Participants on these trips can book through KE or through one of our international partners. This helps us to gather together sufficient numbers of like-minded adventurers to get your holiday up and running quickly. Led by an English-speaking guide, the cosmopolitan nature of these groups can be an important part of the experience! Is this holiday for you? This is a discovery and sightseeing holiday aimed at those with a thirst for adventure. It is not a trekking holiday. There are, however, lots of village visits and sightseeing tours that will involve walking, sometimes for an hour or more at a time. The longest continuous walk is likely to be the 3-hour descent from Pumamarca to Ollantaytambo on Day 3 of the Land Only itinerary. These hikes are not particularly strenuous but it should be borne in mind that walking at even moderately high altitudes does make extra demands and you should aim to have a reasonable level of fitness before embarking on the holiday. Spending the first 4 nights of the holiday in and around the Sacred Valley of the Incas, well below the 3350 metres elevation of Cusco, helps considerably with our initial acclimatization. The holiday includes a number of relatively short transfers by private vehicle, 2 one and a half hour train journeys and a longish transfer from Cusco to Puno by public tourist bus on Day 8. Holiday Itinerary Day 1: Meet at Cusco Airport. A single transfer to the Sacred Valley is provided. Arriving in Cusco, KE Land Only package services begin with a transfer to our hotel in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The Sacred Valley of the Incas is a very scenic 1 hour drive from Cusco across the highlands known as the Pampa de Anta. We ll stop en route at Awana Kancha to get up close and personal to some llamas, alpacas, vicunas and guanacos. These camelids were traditionally used as pack animals by Andean people since Incan times. They were also prized on account of their soft and lanolin-free wool. Awana Kancha (literally palace of weaving ) allows encounters with all 4 camelids and facilitates learning about them and the process of textile making from shearing, textile weaving and dyeing to the finished product. Travelling on to Huaran near Calca in the Sacred Valley, we ll check into our hotel for a well-earned rest. Starting our tour in the Sacred Valley is a good way to

PAGE 3 acclimatize to the higher altitudes of the Peruvian altiplano. Around 500 metres lower than Cusco, the Sacred Valley is also much warmer and rich in Inca sites and heritage. The valley is so-called because it was at the heart of the ancient Inca Empire. The Urubamba River runs through the valley, with the most important sites in the stretch between Pisac and Ollantaytambo. The Incas sculpted the steep valley sides with terraces and irrigation channels, allowing them to produce a large variety of corn and potato crops. Day 2: Amaru Community weaving workshop visit. Return to the Sacred Valley via the Pisac Market. An early start for our transfer via Pisac to the community of Amaru, where we will meet our hosts, the local people of the Laraypas Indigenas de Amaru Association. This Quechua community is remote and accessible from the main valley only by a dirt road. After a short briefing we ll go into the fields to learn something of the Quechua people s agricultural traditions ; weaving and handicraft are important aspects of local culture. Quechua people are the indigenous inhabitants of the high Andes found throughout this part of Peru and were part of the Incan empire. They have traditional animist beliefs, but are largely Roman Catholic due to the efforts of Spanish missionaries following in the footsteps of the Conquistadores. Belief is still strong in the Pachamama (Mother Earth) who grants fertility and to whom offerings are frequently made. Quechua became Peru s second official language in There are many dialects and the language is similar to that spoken by the Aymara, a people found in the southern reaches of the Andes. Our weaving workshop begins with a short walk through native forest to collect the plants that will be used to dye the wool fibre. We ll also learn a little about the medicinal and culinary properties of each of the plants. The women of the community will demonstrate their ancestral weaving techniques (still used today) and we ll enjoy a delicious local-style lunch. Driving back to the Sacred Valley, we can enjoy the views of the impressive agricultural terracing of the valley sides. We ll stop off in Pisac to visit the famous market which has scores of stalls exhibiting and selling local products. Modern Pisac is a typical Andean village and the market draws locals and tourists alike. Goods for sale include local ceramics, textiles and handicrafts. Pisac is also home to an important Inca ruin site, which clings to a mountain spur above the valley. Later in the afternoon we ll return to our hotel in Huaran. MEALS BL Day 3: Visit the Quechua community at Pallata and Ollantaytambo. Take the train up the Sacred Valley. Today we leave Huaran and drive up the valley to Ollantaytambo. Leaving the main valley road, we take a dirt road up to the Patacancha Valley to the community of Pallata. Here, we ll be able to meet some local Quechua families. A steep ascent to the trailhead brings us to the small ancient archaeological ruin site at Pumamarca, a small Inca settlement overlooking the Patacancha Valley that managed the irrigation system of the Inca terracing below. After a visit to the site, we ll begin walking through the terracing complex of Choquecancha and will enjoy great views of the surrounding landscape. A 3-hour descent on foot through the terraces will bring us to the outskirts of Ollantaytambo where we will take lunch. Ollantaytambo is at the heart of the Sacred Valley and is one of the few Inca settlements that have survived entirely as the Incas constructed it hundreds of years ago. Viewed from above the town is laid out in a trapezoid shape favoured by the Incas with a central area and main square forming the baseline and the streets narrowing uphill. Many people still live in the ancient buildings, Inca canchas, enclosures of multi-family living quarters. In the afternoon, we ll make our way to the train station for the dramatic and spectacular 2-hour rail journey down the Urubamba gorge to Machu Picchu Pueblo, the town below Machu Picchu. This small settlement was formerly known as Aguas Calientes on account of the nearby hot springs. On arrival in Machu Picchu Pueblo, we ll transfer to a hotel for the night.

PAGE 4 MEALS BLD Day 4: Full day guided tour of Machu Picchu and the ruin site. Return to the Sacred Valley. We make an early start to take the half-hour bus ride up the road to Machu Picchu for a guided tour of the citadel. Nothing can prepare you for your first sight of Machu Picchu, as the city is perched on a high saddle above the Urubamba Valley, surrounded by high and spiky peaks. The sugar loaf mountain of Huayna Picchu stands watch over the citadel, which was famously only rediscovered by the American archaeologist Hiram Bingham in As the site had been largely undisturbed for many years, it remains one of few Inca sites with well-preserved buildings. Given its dramatic setting, and the beautiful Inca Trail route needed to reach it, many think that Machu Picchu was a sacred city. The ruins are labyrinthine, with terraces, temples, staircases, towers and windows with incredible views. One of the most important monuments is the Intihuatana, the hitching post of the sun, so-called because the Incas are said to have ritually tied the sun to the stone pillar on auspicious solstices. The sun stands still at the pillar on midday of the March and September equinoxes when there is no shadow cast at all. After the tour of the main buildings and structures with our expert guide (which should take around 3 hours) we ll take lunch at the citadel before descending to Machu Picchu Pueblo by bus. From here, we ll take the train to Ollantaytambo, where a vehicle will be waiting to transfer us to our hotel in Huaran. MEALS BL Day 5: Cross the altiplano to Cusco, the former Inca capital city. Another early start as we depart by vehicle from the Sacred Valley to the altiplano in the direction of Cusco. We ll make for Maras, with its famous saltpans, a series of ponds on the hillside from which salt is still harvested. The solid salt granulates and is then packed into sacks and sent to the region s markets. Today the salt is treated with iodine. Also close by is Moray, a unique archaeological site where enormous natural depressions in the ground surface were used for constructing irrigated farming terraces. The depth of the depressions is such that there are notable temperature differentials between the terraces at the top and at the bottom, allow for a range of microclimates which were used to cultivate a range of crops. We ll have a picnic lunch in the area before making the journey to Cusco in the afternoon. We ll stop off en route in Chinchero, which was the chief centre of population in the Pampa de Anta, the rolling highland plateau between Cusco and the Sacred Valley. The Pampa de Anta is fertile and a centre of production for potato, wheat and barley. The town is spread out at the head of a valley and on a clear day the views across the altiplano to the dramatic snowy peaks of the cordilleras Vilcabama and Urubamba are amazing. There are some impressive Inca ruins here, including a system of staircases, water channels and an intricately carved drainpipe cut vertically into the rock. The village is strategically placed at the junction of three roads that connected Cusco, Yucay and Pumamarca. At the time of the ancient Inca Kings it was located on a road that ran directly to Machu Picchu. We ll have the chance to visit the Inca ruins, the colonial Church and some weaving centres to learn about the making of traditional cloth with natural dyes. Later we ll transfer directly to our hotel in the former Inca capital, Cusco. MEALS BL Day 6: Cusco city tour, including visits to all the main sights and Sacsayhuaman. The morning is free for independent exploration or for time to relax, enjoying a coffee or a coca tea in one of the many excellent Cusco cafes and restaurants. Cusco was the religious and administrative capital of the Inca Empire, and there are many interesting sites and buildings to visit. The city is visually stunning, combining original Inca stonework with elegant Spanish colonial architecture. There is something for everyone in Cusco; excellent

PAGE 5 handicrafts shopping, good food, fine buildings and traditional Andean music. Colourfully-dressed campesinos mingle with city dwellers and tourists. Sitting at 3350 metres above sea level, most people feel the effects of altitude when they arrive, but having spent the previous 5 days at more moderate altitudes in the Sacred Valley, we will be acclimatized to the altitude and able to enjoy our visit. In the afternoon, we ll board our vehicle for the drive up the winding road to Sacsayhuaman, a vast fortress built on three platforms which stands sentinel over the city of Cusco. Sacsayhuaman is remarkable for the huge stones used in its construction. Shaped by hand and manipulated into place without machinery, these have remained in place for hundreds of years without mortar. From Sacsayhuaman, we continue to Kenko, a site of worship with a high rock carved in the shape of a puma. The road continues uphill to Puka-Pucara and Tambochay, a site with Inca baths. Returning to Cusco, we visit the main sites around the main square, the Plaza de Armas, including the cathedral and the famous Koricancha, Inca Sun temple which is now within the church of San Domingo. The Koricancha, or the Court of Gold, was the most important Inca temple and was originally lined with gold sheets, housing both a golden altar and a ritual font lined with gold. There was a field of corn made with silver stems and leaves, with ears of gold, golden llamas, figurines, jars and pitchers. Sadly, none of these artefacts remain as they were all taken by the Spanish conquistadores and melted down to be taken back to Spain. The temple included shrines to the sun and the moon, as well as to other planets, thunder, lightning and rainbows. The Koricancha was also an observatory, where high priests studied the skies. Equinox and solstice dates were all important to determine times for sacred rituals and the planting of crops. The monastery of Santo Domingo was built over the ruins of the Koricancha, but the surviving walls are an excellent example of the best Inca stonework. After the tour we will return to our hotel. MEALS B Day 7: A free day in Cusco to explore the city and soak up the atmosphere. Today is a free day for you to enjoy visiting the most amazing city in Latin America. There are many museums and sites of interest to visit. Alternatively, you can take it easy, soak up the atmosphere and relax. We spend a final night at our Cusco hotel. MEALS B Day 8: Take the bus to Puno, on the shores of Lake Titicaca. En route we'll visit Raqchi and Pucara. Taking the excellent public tourist bus, we head south-east towards Puno on the shores of Lake Titicaca. Crossing the continental divide, the journey is scenically stunning with high Andean peaks and the rolling altiplano. The bus journey has several scheduled stops at ruins and sites of interest such as the 17th century church on the road to Andahuaylillas, which has a beautiful interior of painted murals. We will also stop off at at Raqchi to see the ruins of the Temple of Viracocha, the largest roofed building constructed by the Incas. The entire complex is surrounded by large stone walls. Another stop-off point will be at the summit of La Raya Pass at 4321 metres, where we can visit the nearby hot springs and look across to the snow-capped Andean peak of Chimboya (5489m). Making a final stop at the town of Pucara, there are more Inca ruins to see and, whilst here, we might also want to buy one or more Toritos de Pucara. Gaudily decorated ceramic bull figures, these are locally considered to bring good fortune to the buyer s home and family. Lunch will be taken en route and we should arrive in Puno in the late afternoon. The journey takes around 7 8 hours, with plenty of stops on the way. On arrival in Puno we ll check into the hotel where we ll spend the night. MEALS BL Day 9: A visit to the Llachon community on the shores of Lake Titicaca where we spend the night.

PAGE 6 At 3812 metres above sea level, Lake Titicaca is the highest navigable lake in the world and sits on the border of Peru and Bolivia. By volume, it s the largest lake in South America. Five major river systems feed the lake, the Ramis, Coata, Ilave, Huancane and Surchez. There are 41 islands on the lake, some of which are inhabited by the Uros people, who are pre-incan in origin and who traditionally made floating islands from the local totora reeds. Today, after breakfast at our hotel, we ll take a scenic 2-hour drive along the lakeshore to the Llachon Peninsula, with stunning views of the lake and local communities. Our accommodation for the night is at a community-based homestay project at Llachon, which is at the southern tip of the 20 kilometre long peninsula. Here, we are allocated rooms in family houses which provides us with a unique opportunity to learn a little about the way of life of the local people. After time to settle in, we ll go for a hike into the community, meet the villagers and experience at first-hand how they make their living on the shores of this great lake. The afternoon is free to relax, do some independent exploring, stroll on the beach and interact with the farmers, fishermen and weavers of the local community. Overnight in a homestay at Llachon. HOMESTAY MEALS BLD Day 10: Boat trip to Taquile Island and a visit to the floating Uros Islands before returning to Puno. In the early morning, a motor boat will pick us up from one of the landings at Llachon and take us out to Taquile Island. A little over 5 kilometres long and home to some 2000 Quechua-speaking Taquilenos, the island s economy is based on fishing and the growing of crops, mostly potatoes, on intensively terraced farmland. Tourism also plays its part and the island is famous for the quality of its handicrafts, especially textiles. Knitting is the preserve of the men who take up this tradition as youngsters, whilst the girls and women make yarn and weave. The secret to the island s success over several centuries has been the setting up of a communal economy, with everyone contributing to the common good. Arriving on the island, we will climb the paved track that leads to the extensive main plaza, where the views extend across the lake. Taking a walk around the village, we will stop for lunch at a restaurant run by the local community, before returning to the boat landing. On our boat ride back to Puno, we will stop off at the Uros Floating Islands. Constructed out of bundles of dried totora reeds, up to 2 metres thick, these islands have to be continually maintained by their inhabitants. The islands are of different sizes, typically between 30 and 100 metres across and can be home to as many as 10 families, living in houses built from the same reeds. The Uros people make their living from fishing, using reed boats. They also hunt birds, keep a few animals and run handicraft stalls for the tourist visitors. It s fun to check out these islands, which give just a little at every step. After our visit, we complete our boat ride to Puno and make the short transfer to our hotel. MEALS BL Day 11: Visit Sillustani then transfer to the airport at Juliaca for departure. After breakfast at our hotel, we drive out to nearby Lake Umayo to visit the pre-incan burial ground of Sillustani where the nobility of the ancient Colla people were entombed above ground in cylindrical stone towers known as chullpas. Whilst such towers can be seen elsewhere on the altiplano, Sillustani has the largest example, some 12 metres high and the most impressive location. Some of the massive blocks involved in these constructions are decorated and there is a well-documented carving of a lizard on one of the chullpas closest to the road. Sillustani was probably a sacred place for the people of this region for millennia, although most of the chullpas are believed to have been erected around the 15th century. After our visit to Sillustani, we have just a short drive northwards to Juliaca Airport, where KE Land Only package services end. Depart Juliaca. MEALS B

This is not something that you should worry about; the human body is quite capable of adapting to a very wide range of altitudes, but it is important that we follow some simple rules in order to acclimatise successfully. Before coming on this holiday you should read the advice on trekking at high altitude. page/altitude.html Spending Money We estimate that $400 will be sufficient to cover your requirements including the non-included meals and other personal expenses, such as tips for drivers and local guides. There is no need to purchase local currency (Peruvian Soles) prior to travelling. It is possible to withdraw your money in local currency from ATM's in Cusco Airport, Cusco itself and in Puno. If you are bringing your travel money with you we recommend you bring it in the form of US dollars in cash as this provides for the easiest exchange and in emergency can even be used to purchase goods. Credit cards can be used to purchase goods and to pay for meals in Huaran, Cusco and in Puno. Guidance On Tipping Tipping is common in Peru, however you must remember that it is voluntary and how much you give depends on how you feel about the service you have received. Airport baggage carriers are the only exception and tipping is compulsory. These people are unwaged and make a living by carrying your luggage. The general rule is 1 or 2 soles per bag. For hotel staff, tipping is not expected, but is welcome. For hotel porters 1 or 2 soles per bag is reasonable. Drivers of standard taxis do not usually expect a tip. As with most countries, it is usual to tip in restaurants and 10% is expected for good service. For the local crew (your guide and drivers) it is recommended that each client contributes around 50 to a group tipping pool. Free KE Gift We give you a free gift as a way to thank all our clients who book a KE holiday. Choose from KE T-shirts, buffs, KE trek bags* (where applicable) plus many more. Alternatively you can choose to make a 10 donation to the Juniper Trust Charity. You can make your selection in your My KE account after booking. Baggage Allowance For this holiday you should take one piece of luggage and a daypack. Luggage with wheels is useful for this holiday. Malarial prophylaxis is not usually required for trips in the mountains, however if you are visiting rural and remote low lying areas then they might be necessary. On holidays to more remote areas you should also have a dentist check up. A good online resource is Travel Health Pro. Zika virus has been confirmed as active in this country. It is a tropical viral disease spread by daytime biting mosquitoes, like dengue and malaria. There is currently no vaccine or prophylaxis available and therefore the best form of prevention is to avoid being bitten. We recommend you take the usual precautions to avoid mosquito bites. The mosquitoes that transmit ZIKV are unlikely to be found above 2,000m altitude. For more information, visit the website of the National Travel Network and Centre (NaTHNaC) at Dengue fever is a known risk in places visited. 11 PAGE 11 Electricity Supply & Plug We recommend you check if you require an adaptor for your electrical items at: Preparing For Your Holiday It makes a lot of sense to spend some time before coming on an active holiday getting some additional exercise. The fitter you are, after all, the more enjoyable you will find the experience. Although not physically demanding this trip does have some easy walking at a high altitude. We would suggest that you adopt a weekly exercise regime. Jogging, squash and swimming are good for developing aerobic fitness and better stamina. You should gradually increase your exercise leading up to departure, and in the month before setting off, we suggest that you try to fit in a number of long walks in hilly country. To enjoy the country and the people to their maximum you may wish to read some of the books in the following section, which will give you some background and insight into Peruvian culture. Travel Aware As a reputable tour operator, KE supports the British Foreign & Commonwealth Offices' Travel Aware campaign to enable British citizens to prepare for their journeys overseas. The 'Travel Aware' website provides a single, authoritative source of advice for all kinds of travellers and we recommend that prior to travel, all KE clients visit the official UK Government website at travelaware.campaign.gov.uk and read the FCO Travel Advice for their chosen destination. We receive regular updates direct from the FCO and are in constant touch with our contacts on the ground. If you have any questions about government travel advice, please call our office. Climate The climate of Peru is very varied across different regions and at different elevations. Generally, the pattern is for warm and wettish summers, with cool dry winters. The Southern Hemisphere winter season runs from April through to November. The climate beside 4000 metre-high Lake Titicaca during this period is dry, especially from May to September, with average daily highs of around degrees Celsius. In Cusco and especially at the lower elevation of the Sacred Valley and at Machu Picchu Pueblo, it can be rather warmer, reaching 20 degrees Celcius on some days. Once again, the period from May to September is quite dry, with some light rain possible in the months either side of this period. During the coldest nights of winter the temperature can fall to 5 degrees Celcius and, extremely, to 0 degrees Celcius anywhere on this holiday. Why Choose KE Adventure Travel? Experience KE has 34 years experience of adventure travel worldwide. All of our holidays are accompanied by an experienced leader, some of whom have worked with KE groups for many years. Many are professional guides and instructors with an unrivalled knowledge of the areas in which they work. In many parts of the world, we recruit local guides with appropriate training and experience. In addition to having the technical skills to ensure your safety, KE expects its leaders to be active members of the group. A leader should be fun to travel with and ready to share with you their enthusiasm for adventure travel and their knowledge of the area. Alongside the group leader, there

PAGE 13 will be a local support crew, which could be just a driver, or a complete team of guides, drivers, porters, muleherders and cooks. The hard work of our support crews, along with the fascinating insight they can offer into their local culture, is integral to providing you with the very best adventure travel experience. The team of KE office staff is amongst the most experienced in the business, with the proven ability to set up and operate a worldwide programme of adventures. Every one has adventure travel at heart and joins at least one trip a year. It is this depth of experience that makes KE stand out from other adventure travel operators. When you contact KE, by phone or , or visit our office, you will find the help and advice you need, from someone who has actually done the trip and can give you the benefit of their first-hand experience. KE can guarantee the very best in trek support, excellent food, a good standard of hotel and camp accommodation, plus the back up of one of the most respected companies in the business. Client satisfaction is at the top of our agenda and almost 50% of our bookings each year come from repeat business. If you are looking for adventure then look no further than KE. RESPONSIBLE TOURISM AND AWARDS Responsible Tourism has always fitted naturally with KEs travel ethic. It is important to us that our clients are not the only beneficiaries of the travel experience, but that we share a two-way relationship with the areas that we visit. We make sure that our local staff are well treated and well paid, we respect indigenous cultures, take care to protect the environment and make the most of every opportunity to make a positive contribution wherever we travel. In addition to holding an AITO 5-star Sustainable Tourism rating, we are recipients of AITO s Achievement in Sustainable Tourism Award in recognition of the work carried out over the past 20 years, giving back to the communities and areas we visit. We have been awarded Highly Commended status in the Best Tour Operator category of the Virgin Holidays Responsible Tourism Awards, and were named Best Trekking Operator on Earth by National Geographic Magazine, whose criteria included commitment to responsible tourism. We continue to travel responsibly, and more information on our policy, practice, and specific projects can be found at and on the website of our partner charity the Juniper Trust: KEs Mountain Code is issued to our staff, trek leaders and overseas agents, and we recommend it to our clients, too! Your Complete Financial Protection KE Adventure Travel is a fully licensed and bonded tour operator. We are a member of the Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO), bonded with the CAA (ATOL 2808) and ABTA licensed (W4341). You can book your trip with KE Adventure Travel in complete confidence that all monies you pay for a trip are fully protected. BOOKING YOUR HOLIDAY Making a Booking The easiest way to make your booking is online. You will need to pay a deposit at the time of booking. This is normally 200 but for some holidays with special permit fees or internal flights, this may be more. The amount of deposit required for an individual holiday is given on the dates and prices page of the holiday. Late bookings will require full payment. We cannot confirm any booking until we receive your fully completed booking form.

PAGE 14 Adventure Travel Insurance IMPORTANT - It is a condition of joining any of our trips that you are insured against medical and personal accident risks (to include repatriation costs, air ambulance and helicopter rescue services). We also strongly recommend that you take out holiday cancellation insurance, as all deposits paid are non-refundable. Please ensure that your insurer is aware of your KE Adventure itinerary and can agree to cover the activities being undertaken. You will then need to advise us of your policy details and complete an Insurance Declaration Form. CAMPBELL IRVINE DIRECT travel insurance is available to EU residents and will cover the majority of KE Adventure holidays. It has been designed to provide cover for activities normally excluded by other insurers such as trekking, mountain biking and climbing. Please note that certain activities may attract a higher premium. In addition Campbell Irvine Direct cannot provide cover for KE climbing trips above 6000m. Cover for these can be obtained through either the British Mountaineering Council (BMC) or Snowcard. TRAVELEX is a USA based insurer offering travel insurance, which can be used by US citizens and US residents only. KE recommends the "Travelex Select" package for our holidays. If your holiday involves using mountaineering equipment (ropes, harness or crampons), for climbing or glacial travel, you should consider the "Adventure Plus Pak" optional upgrade on the Travelex Select Plan. Please refer to the 'Description of Coverage' for a summary of the terms, conditions, exclusions and limitations of the applicable Protection Plan. This policy will also cover KE climbing trips above 6000m. We hope that this trip notes has answered most of your questions. Please feel free to contact us and speak to one of our experts.

PAGE 15 Equipment List The following checklist should help you with your packing. As a general rule, you should always try to keep the weight of your equipment to a minimum. This is principally a touring trip but there are several opportunities for small hikes and our sightseeing programme will include a reasonable amount of walking.
