2 Lima is the capital and largest city of Peru. It is situated on the west central coast of the country, on the shores of the Pacific Ocean. It was founded by the Spanish Conqueror Francisco Pizarro in 1535 and it was the most important city under the Spanish dominions in South America. Depending on your personal preferences and your flight schedule, you can create your own package and choose one or two of the three options mentioned below. CITY TOUR Get deep into the heart of Lima walking along its colonial streets. There you will be able to visit the most important historical monuments like The Plaza de Armas (Main Square), the Cathedral, San Francisco Convent and the Government Palace, among others. Next, you can visit the tourist district of Miraflores, where you can find all kind of businesses, from craft markets to shopping centers, as well as bars and restaurants where you can enjoy some delicious Peruvian dishes. PACHACAMAC Located at the southeast of Lima, the Temple of Pachacamac is an archaeological site which was used by the Incas as a religious center. According to archaeologists, it was the most important pilgrimage site in ancient Peru, and contains various pyramids, temples, and large plazas. You can enjoy a pleasant walk while exploring the site. GOLD MUSEUM OF LIMA Founded in 1968 by Miguel Mujica Gallo, this private collection contains a staggering display of pre-hispanic gold artifacts, Paracas textiles and ceramics. Some replicas can also be found within the exhibits of a number of Peru s different precolumbian civilizations, including the Lambayeque, Chimu, Mochica, Nazca, Frias, Huari, Vicus and Inca. There is also an excellent bookstore and a large display of military objects connected in one way or another to important people in world history. Your itinerary begins with your arrival at Lima airport, where you will be picked up for your first tour, which will last approximately three hours. Next, you will enjoy lunch at one of the restaurants highly recommended by us. You will have about two hours to enjoy your meal. Between 2 and 3 p.m., we will pick you up for your second tour, which will also last about three hours. Once the tour is over, you will be driven to the airport.
