9 In-situ vision of the Ostrava Zoo 1. Philosophy of modern ZOOs is not only ex-situ, but especially in-situ species conservation, i.e. in the place of their natural range. 2. We want to be modern institution which points to the trend of the modern zoos. 3. We want to be one of the exemplary modern zoos in Europe / World. 4. Really make a difference and help to protect animals.

The research is realized by Berlin Leibniz Research Institute for Animal Research (IZW). 2. World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) entrusted leadership of International Studbook of Vietnamese sika deer to the Ostrava Zoo. 3. Approval of the project 1 CZK for Wildlife!

The Kukang Rescue Program - protection of slow loris and fight against illegal trade in animals in Sumatra, Indonesia 2. Derbianus Conservation - saving the critically endangered western Derby eland in Senegal 3. Coffee and Primate Conservation - protect a silver gibbon in Central Java, Indonesia 4. Project Sahamalaza (AEECL) - protecting the Sclater's lemur (Eulemur flavifrons) in the national park of Sahamalaza - Nosy Radames, protecting the local forest and supporting sustainable development in local villages

Tonkin snub-nosed monkey project (TSNM) - rescuing and doing research on the critically endangered Indochinese langur in Vietnam 2. Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Program (SOCP) - preventing the extinction of the Sumatran orangutan and protecting its natural habitat in Sumatra, Indonesia 3. Green-books.org - providing children's books in Indonesian language in Indonesia about animals, plants and nature 4. Saola Working Group (SWG) - protecting the Annamite Mountains on the border of Laos and Vietnam in order to save (not only) the saola from extinction 5. Mořskéželvy.cz - protection of sea turtles in Indonesia in Borneo 6. Project Poksai - research of the sumatran laughingthrush (Garrulax bicolor) an endemic songbird from Sumatra Island 7. Vulture Conservation - protecting and restoring populations of vultures in Europe, including protecting their habitat
