1 ACTIVE LEARNING WEEK July 2017 Y7 INFORMATION BOOKLET This booklet contains information regarding: o The meeting point for each activity. o The meeting time and approximate return time for each activity. o Any additional equipment that you will require for the activity.

2 PLEASE READ CAREFULLY This booklet has been produced in order to give you all the information required for Active Learning Week. Timetable Timetables showing each student s activities for the week will be posted in form rooms for reference, and are also listed on the on-line SCOPAY system. Please make sure that you read all the information enclosed carefully, as each activity has different start and finish times. Make sure that you are on time for each of your activities. If you are going on a trip outside of School, the coach or train will not wait for you and you will not be reimbursed for the cost of the trip. Check that you know the exact location of the meeting point. (You are advised to highlight the activities that you have been allocated in order to avoid confusion). School uniform Uniform does not need to be worn during the week unless indicated, but you must wear clothing appropriate to the activity you are participating in. Students must be dressed modestly (ie no hot pants, low cut tops, belly button showing, vest tops etc) Students must follow normal School expectations regarding jewellery and hair Behaviour Please remember that although the timetable will be collapsed this week our behaviour expectations of all students remain unchanged both in School and off-site. Normal sanctions will be applied throughout the week, and any serious issues could result in students being withdrawn from activities, with no refunds applicable. Catering For In-School activities you may bring packed lunch, or the School Canteen will be open as normal. You will NOT be allowed off the School premises at lunch time or during breaks. For off-site activities the information indicates whether lunch is provided or if you need to bring a packed lunch or money to purchase. Medication If you require any medication, such as an inhaler, hay fever medication or an Epipen, please ensure that you carry it with you each day, when participating in in- School activities and when out on School trips. Absence If you are ill at any time during the week, or there is any other reason why you will not be able to attend an activity, your parents must phone the School at the start of the day to report your absence. The school number is Remember, this is still a School week so you must attend all the sessions you have been allocated unless you have a valid reason. Students with unauthorised absence during the week will not be allowed to leave School early on the last day of School (Friday 21 July) but will have an afternoon detention with Mr Douglas

Product Design TK1 9am 3pm Packed Lunch or Canteen Covered shoes (no flip-flops) WEDNESDAY 19 JULY Local History Day CA2 9am 3pm Packed Lunch or Canteen You will be outside for part of the day so comfortable shoes for walking, hat/suncream & raincoat. Notebook & pen Kidzania Sports Packed lunch Travel by coach. Additional money for refreshments. Journalism LI6 9am 3pm Canteen / Packed Lunch Notebook & pen/pencil Work Shadowing n/a Work shadowing diary will be distributed before Activity Week, to be completed and returned to Mrs Pickford at School on 21 July. Those completing an at-home research project to collect paperwork from Careers suite before Thursday 13 July.
