Two Crescent Ski Council trips have already been completed and several more trips are ahead. Steamboat Springs Ski School Week and Mt. Bachelor Ski Week both had wonderful snow and many participants from HSC. We want to thank all our trip coordinators for the great work they have done this year in preparing a fantastic ski season. If you are still interested in a ski trip, check with our trip leaders to see if there are any more openings. Membership renewals: If you have forgotten to renew you may find that you will soon stop receiving the monthly newsletter and weekly SNOWBALL . Please take a moment to renew today. Apres Ski Club Meeting: Several of our club members have already decided to join us at the Apres Ski Club Meeting at the Church Street Wine Shoppe, 501 Church Street, after our February meeting. If you haven t checked it out, it s a delightful small bistro, with cozy rooms and local art work, in the same building as the Eaves Restaurant. See for more details or call them at What s Happening in 2016? Even if you are not skiing, there will be plenty of things to do this year and next. Our HSC BoD has approved one ski trip already for next year and will be offering two Cruises for A flyer for the British Isle Cruise is included in this newsletter, however, the Greek Island Cruise flyer has not yet been provided by CSC. Other annual events include the TN Ridge Ride, canoe/kayaking Bear Creek, bowling, cookouts, dances and lots of other things to keep you busy year-round. Also, mark your calendars now for the following events coming up this spring: April 17: Breeden s Annual TN Ridge Ride and picnic and April 21-24: CSC Annual Spring Convention at Kingston Plantation, Myrtle Beach, SC. See for cost and registration information. All rooms are guaranteed to be in the Brighton Towers this year. Call me if you plan to go or if you are interested in serving as a CSC representative this year. Call for Volunteers: Please give some serious consideration about taking a leadership role in our club. It is an honor to serve on the board of directors, but it is time for fresh ideas and innovative thinking to keep our club at the top of the ladder for Ski Clubs in the Southeast and on top of the social scene in Huntsville. Of course, all board positions are open for the election. Several current members have already indicated that they will step down in March Known critical positions needing to be filled for next year are (1) Special Events Director, and (2) Membership Director. 2 From the Ski Trips Director: The ski season is off to a great start!!! Our members have already been on trips to Steamboat, Mt. Bachelor, and South Lake Tahoe. The SNOW started coming down early this year and has continued to build each month. In fact, Mt. Bachelor has already received over 320 inches of snow this season. El Nino sure has been kind to all the western ski resorts this season. The next trip will be to which has a great base as does all of the Colorado resorts. The Club has three more trips in February and one in March along with a CSC trip. Below are shots from Mt. Bachelor and Heavenly resorts from the weeks we were there. The skiing has been great.

We will be staying in the Vintage Hotel which is conveniently located in Village. This is not a ski in/out but the main Zephyr lift can be accessed by a short ride on a Cabrilet lift. We have both standard Hotel rooms and Hotel Suites resevered. All rooms have 2 queen beds. This makes it ideal for families with kids, couples or singles. 7 BIG SKY, MONTANA MARCH 12-19, 2016 Big Sky Resort is the home of America s Biggest Skiing. It has over 5800 acres of skiing for every level of skier from you hot doggers to the first time skier. It has 33 lifts, a tram and no lift lines or crowds. Not only are you going to enjoy a week of wonderful skiing but, I will also be making arrangements to Yellowstone National Park for either a snow coach or snowmobile tour. The Big Sky trip will be the week after the Park City, Utah trip. Jim Randolph and I will work together with you on the best ways to do transportation so you can go on both trips. At the present time we have air Huntsville to Bozeman, Montana to $ Sport America is working on getting a better price leaving out of Huntsville and Nashville. Frontier will open their flights up for March 2016 in Sept. The bus price is for any flights you may come in on. This is a Crescent Ski Council trip organized by Sports America.
