2 eek PREVIE : OYMPIQUE YONNAIS GFC AJACCIO Feature Preview Olympique yonnais entertain Gazélec Ajaccio on Saturday evening and both clubs have their reasons for wanting to claim a maximum haul. O climbed to second following their win at inform Toulouse, while Gazélec climbed out of the drop zone thanks to their success at home to Bastia in the Corsican derby. Chasing a second straight runnersup finish in order to secure direct qualification to the Champions eague group stage, O have caimed an impressive points in since Bruno Genesio succeeded Hubert Fournier. The club in its current guise was founded in as a merger between two local teams, FC Ajaccio and Gazélec. The name Gazélec comes from that of a team formed by workers with energy firms Gaz de France and Électricité de France. Nicknames include e Gaz and e Bistrot, because their headquarters were at the back of a bar called e Claridge, which had the same sobriquet. Gazélec have spent seasons in the second tier but only two since. The club play at the Stade Ange Casanova, which was refurbished in the summer of to increase capacity to,.
