4 THE CIRCLE OF THE ROYAL OPERA Become a sponsor and ambassador of our season of shows The Circle of the Royal Opera brings together companies that support the opera and music programme of the Palace of Versailles. By joining, your company becomes an ambassador of the artistic life of Versailles and participates in the dynamism of this club. The corporate members are concerned to foster the cultural vitality of the region, actively involved in its economic development and desirous of widening their network of contacts. For your annual subscription, five levels of contribution are proposed : from 4,000 to 45,000. You can deduct 60% of the value of the donation paid from your corporate tax bill. The members of the Circle of the Royal Opera Attractive recompenses are reserved for all the members of the Circle : You receive regular invitations to the shows of our season for the guests of your choice depending on your contribution level, from 6 to 48 places per season. You benefit from privileged access to the Royal Opera: cocktail reception after the performance, tours for small groups, access to certain rehearsals and, for some members, rooms made available. You choose to be associated with the life of the Palace of Versailles : dedicated news bulletins, priority reservation, regular encounters with the management, participation in private viewings and receptions for sponsors. You are listed among the sponsors of the Palace of Versailles and mentioned in all the advertising of the Royal Opera. Partnerships can take extremely varied forms that go as far as genuine collaboration. Supporting our shows financially Your support allows you to deduct 60% of the donation from your corporate tax bill (law of 1 August 2003) and benefit from recompenses equivalent to 25% of the amount of the donation. You can also support our shows in the form of direct patronage or sponsorship; the outlay is then deductible from your financial statement as operating costs. 6 ADVERTISEMENT INSERTS Associate your image with the shows of Versailles Each artistic season features the publication of 15 to 25 programmes for one or more artistic projects. A programme is a record of the artistic season, the unifying thread of the place s history and an irreplaceable souvenir for each spectator. Often kept, it becomes an evocation of a unique evening s entertainment. So we design these programmes with special care. Your company can propose an advertising insert in these programmes and thus link its image to a cultural monument and prestigious shows. The spectators of the Royal Opera, ever increasing, form a wide audience that will be receptive to your advertisements. Advertising inserts are proposed for the season or individual programme. They can appear on the inside front cover or either side of the back cover, on the opening spread or on a plain full page. 8 A ROYAL SETTING Discover the magical places of the Palace of Versailles HALL OF MIRRORS JM Manaï The most emblematic room of the Palace of Versailles, 73 metres long, the Hall of Mirrors was designed to exalt the political, economic and artistic success of France. A concourse for courtiers passing through and for meeting people, it was intended to dazzle all the visitors of Louis XIV, then at the summit of his power. Its exceptional dimensions and the profusion and size of its 357 mirrors make it a veritable masterpiece. Today, the Hall of Mirrors hosts prestigious recitals and concerts. Agathe Poupeney ROYAL OPERA The masterpiece of Ange-Jacques Gabriel and Blaise-Henri Arnoult, First Architect and First Stage Mechanic of Louis XV, the Royal Opera was officially opened on 16 May 1770 as part of the festivities to mark the wedding of the Dauphin, the future Louis XVI, and the Archduchess Marie-Antoinette of Austria. The vast dimensions of the stage, the quality of the acoustics, the perfection of the proportions and the refinement of the decoration make it one of the most beautiful court theatres in the world. Today, this magnificent 700-seat theatre hosts fifty performances every year. ROYAL CHAPEL The chapel is a true masterpiece of the art of the 17 th century. Among its treasures are the superb painted vault and an organ made by Cliquot. The setting for all religious events masses, royal weddings and christenings until 1789, the Royal Chapel is now the setting for concerts of sacred music.
