Introduction The inauguration of the Aeroscopia museum was met with much enthusiasm on behalf of the public. The passion of our visitors for this new site has by far exceeded the hopes and expectations of all who contributed to this ambitious project. This great adventure was possible thanks to the active and decisive support of various institutions and non-profit organisations. The project s benefactors the town of Blagnac, Airbus, Greater Toulouse, the Midi-Pyrénées region and the Haute-Garonne District Council have given the region an outstanding attraction for tourism and culture, showcasing a field of activity in which our region excels. The non-profit organisations devoted to aviation, united as Terre d Envol : l Académie Nationale de l Air et de l Espace, les Ailes Anciennes Toulouse, Cap Avenir Concorde, l Aérothèque, Flight Heritage, Spot Air, Virtu Ailes, Replic Air, played a central role in the success of this place of culture and science will bring the challenge of confirming the museum s success. The company that is operating the museum and is also a national leader in the field of industrial tourism, Groupe Manatour, will continue to work closely with local institutes (such as So Toulouse, le Comité Départemental du Tourisme and le Comité Régional du Tourisme) in order to develop the promotion of the museum, as well as with Aerospace Valley Midi-Pyrénées and Aquitaine to strengthen our privileged connections to the professionals of the aviation industry. 3

A record attendance Since the inauguration of Aeroscopia on the 15th of January 2015, 321,000 visitors have come to discover the world of aviation (Aeroscopia and Let s Visit Airbus), which puts the site in the top-three most visited places in the Haute-Garonne district. As of the 31st of December 2015, the museum had attracted a total of 217,619 visitors, of which 6,134 came during evening events. Tours of the Toulouse- Blagnac Airbus sites attracted 103,348 visitors. 12% of our guests chose to combine visits of the two sites, bringing the total number of individual visitors to 283,896 (180,548 visiting only the museum, 66,277 visiting only the Airbus sites and 37,071 combining visits of both the museum and Let s Visit Airbus). Our reception desk also sells tickets for tours of the Ailes Anciennes Toulouse aircraft restoration area. 5,200 admittances were sold, 78% of which were combines with a tour of the museum. Customer satisfaction surveys show that 91% of our visitors were either satisfied or very satisfied with their experience. Our young audience seems to appreciate the theme-based exhibits and the simulator, whereas the adults particularly appreciated access to the interior of Concorde. The three words most commonly used by our visitors to describe the museum were interesting, super and informative. 5

Visitor StatisticS The average age of a museum visitor is 37, and the numbers of male and female visitors are perfectly equal. In terms of geographic origin, 89% of our guests are of French nationality. Amongst the 11% of visitors from abroad, the majority are Spanish more than 4,900 visitors (2.34%) -, followed by German 2,500 visitors (1.22%) -, British 2,200 visitors (1%) -, and Belgian 1,578 visitors (0.75%)-. The museum s customer base is mainly regional. 70% of our French visitors come from the Midi-Pyrénées region. Amongst these, 84% are from the Haute- Garonne district, 4% from Tarn, 4% from Tarn-et-Garonne, 3% from Gers, 2% from Aveyron, and 1% each from the other districts Aude, Ariège, Hautes- Pyrénées and Lot. In the Haute-Garonne district, visitors come mainly from the city of Toulouse (47%) and the town of Blagnac (25%) followed by Colomiers, Tournefeuille and Beauzelle January February March April May June July August September October November December Monthly evolution of Aeroscopia admittances (excluding evening events) in

Our Private Events Area In 2015, the museum hosted 33 corporate events, representing more than 6,000 guests. In the heart of the museum, this heated area of 506 m2 offers an unmatched view of our collection of aircraft and a number of tailor-made or ready-to-use services: catering, activities, artistic shows, technical services and broadcasting. Evening event Manu Movies The Shop With over 800 references (clothes, tableware, books, gadgets, aircraft models, leather goods...), the shop welcomed 50,953 customers for a total of 151,788 articles sold. 7

Additions to the museum s collection A tool for promoting and preserving aviation heritage, the museum enriched its collection of aircraft and aviation articles throughout 2015, thanks to donations or temporary loans from Airbus, les Ailes Anciennes Toulouse and private individuals. The Airbus A400M The long expected arrival of A400M MSN1 entrusted to us by Airbus Opérations SAS, on the 16th of July 2015, was met with enthusiasm from our visitors. Nicknamed Grizzly by the test flight engineers due to her size, this was the first A400M ever to fly in December Heavily equipped with test instrumentation allowed the flight envelope to be opened and was submitted to the most extreme tests. After four years of test flights and 475 landings, the aircraft was decommissioned in order to be put on display at the museum. The Airbus A400M is now a key element of the museum s collection, allowing a better understanding of military transport aviation. The A400M arrives at the museum Manascopia 8

The Microstar Variviggen On the same day, the Microstar Variviggen, a light passenger aircraft, made her entrance. This plane was built by Léo Chagnes, an aviation enthusiast and personality and a former employee of the Dewoitine company. This unique example is based on the Variviggen (1972) designed in the USA by Burt Rutan. The rear part of the aircraft was heavily modified to allow the integration of two small jet engines provided by the company MicroTurbo. This aircraft was stored in her owner s hangar since In 2015, he donated it to the Ailes Anciennes de Toulouse, who in turn presented the aircraft to the museum. The Airbus A380 Engine Pylon The pylon on display at the museum since July 2015 was lifted from A380 MSN004, a test aircraft initially equipped with Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engines before being re-equipped with the Engine Alliance GP The engine pylon is a complex part that is used to attach the engines to the aircraft s wing and to provide an interface for hydraulic and electrical equipment, air conditioning circuits, fuel lines, heating systems and engine alarms. The component was manufactured on the Saint Eloi Airbus site, a centre of excellence in metalworking, which specializes in the development, the manufacturing of individual components, and the assembly, equipping and testing of engine pylons for the entire Airbus range. 9

«tonneau Antoinette» Since the 19th of November 2015, the museum has displayed this replica of the world s first training simulator, le Tonneau Antoinette or Antionette Barrel. In 1910, the Antoinette company, in collaboration with the French Army, opened a school in Mourmelon near Châlon en Champagne in order to train future military pilots. To make learning to fly the Antoinette aircraft easier, the engineer Léon Levavasseur, who designed the aircraft, Hubert Latham, a student then instructor at the school, and three trainee pilots from the military, invented what is very probably the first flight simulator in history. This simulator is made from a barrel cut in to two parts along its length. The first part is fixed to a beam and provides a support. The second half is placed on the former, connected by a flexible joint, and can move along the three axes. For many years, this item could be found in the entrance hall of the Airbus Training Centre, and was donated to the museum. It originally belonged to Aéroformation. Tonneau Antoinette Manascopia 10

The cap avenir concorde exhibition The non-profit organisation Cap Avenir Concorde has produced a thematic area dedicated to the legendary Speedbird. This area, situated beneath Concorde F-BTSB, which belongs to the Académie de l Air et de l Espace, displays fifteen unique items as well as archives and documents that tell the epic story of Concorde. Made up of six modules, this thematic exhibition displays the components in the same areas that they are situated on the aircraft. The items of the collection are classed by family: hydraulics, cockpit components, fuel systems, etc. Sculpture by Michel Batlle In July 2015, a sculpture by Michel Batlle was put on display on the museum s Grand Balcony. It is the preliminary work of a planned monumental sculpture. Artist, sculptor, painter, Michel Batlle was born in Toulouse in His work has been exhibited worldwide since Michel Batlle describes himself as a non-specialized artist, for whom art is above all an experience about questioning the meaning of life, but also an essential commitment to respecting difference, cultures and their territories. 11

Mediation tools and guided tours for all audiences visioguides The visioguide application is a tool to help you visit the museum. With more than an hour and a half of audio commentary, the application is available in French, English, German, Spanish and French Sign Language (LSF). The application so offers a section that provides all the practical information you will need to organise your day at the museum. Information about our collection can be downloaded from the Internet free of charge, from home or on site. Other contents are available only by renting the visioguides from reception (tariff 3 ). 12

The Museum Treasure Hunt This game booklet is for children over 7 (with help from an adult) and up to 14/15 years old. It offers a fun way to discover the museum s collection. The young visitor s mission is to carry out a test in photo recognition and navigation, helped by the aircraft of the collection and a trail of compass roses spread throughout the museum. This game booklet is for individual visitors only. guided tours Discovery Tours A journey that will introduce you to the museum and let you discover, through the aircraft of our collection, the origins of aviation in Toulouse. The tour is punctuated by stops in front of the impressive timeline, the three star aircraft in our collection, but also our diverse media and exhibits to explain some of the more technical notions, such as how an aircraft flies, or how engines and flight controls work, or how cockpits have evolved. The Discovery Tour is the ideal prologue for your visit of our museum, or for other thematic tours. Family Discovery Tours A family tour that will take you back to the beginnings of aviation. Take a closer look at what an aircraft really is, and tackles some of the basic principles of flight in a simple but fun manner. This tour will show you the history and the characteristics of aircraft such as Concorde, the A300B, the Super Guppy or the Alouette helicopter. The Family Discovery Tour answers some surprising questions: What is the connection between an octopus and a jet engine? How does a pilot operate the control surfaces of an aircraft? What is the difference between an aerostat and an aerodyne? 13

Thematic tour: Military Aviation This tour allows you to discover and understand the ever growing importance of military aviation, from its beginnings as a branch of the traditional terrestrial and naval armed forces to the critical role it plays in the security of a nation today. The military aircraft of our collection have been involved in various conflicts (the F-104 Starfighter, the F-8FN Crusader and the Mirage IIIC). Learn all about their mission profiles, as well as the historical and strategic context in which they were deployed. Thematic tour: Concorde, the Legend. A tour devoted to the two Concorde aircraft of our collection, allowing you to understand how the Concorde legend was born. During this tour, our guides will share some of the secrets of a flight on board this incredible aircraft. 17 Our priority: a handicap-accessible museum Development of a visioguide application and a guided tour in French Sign Language (LSF) In April 2015, the museum launched a visioguide application for persons with hearing disabilities. Special guided tours also exist for these audiences: - The Discovery Tour with a French Sign Language interpretor, scheduled once per term for individual visitors. - The Discovery Tour in French Sign Language, accompanied by a deafmute guide (for groups only). For visitors with hearing disabilities who are or are not equipped with a hearing aid (with or without a T position), the museum can provide a hearing amplifier that gives access to the audio content broadcast within the museum. This tour was developed in cooperation with the «Institut des Jeunes Aveugles de Toulouse». 17

Creation of a sensory tour for visually-impaired visitors This guided tour, called Aircraft at Your Fingertips is scheduled once per term for individuals, and can be booked all year round for groups. By using tactile graphics, aircraft models and samples of aviation materials, this tour allows a sensory approach of famous aircraft such as the Ader Eole, the A300B or Concorde. The tour includes a sensory walkaround of the real Fouga Magister jet and its corresponding model, a visit of Concorde s interior and the A300B. Access for visitors with mobility impairment All the items of our collection and our guided tours are accessible to visitors with mobility impairment, including the interior of Concorde and the A300B. The museum can provide a wheelchair designed for ease of access when required. In order to access the smallest details of Concorde s cabin, a collection of internal views is available at our reception area. On the 30th of April 2015, the museum signed a partnership agreement with the non-profit organisation Jaccede, which was created in 2005 and gained the status of being of public interest, with the goal of allowing persons with mobility impairment to take their place as full citizens and play a full role in the life of the city of Toulouse. Its priorities are: promoting accessible places and venues, creating events and festivals, informing the population as well as private and public institutions. The organisation has developed, in particular, a collaborative guide ( an inventory of 70,000 accessible places throughout France, including Aeroscopia. 18

A guided tour for the intellectually deficient This tour will be adapted for the intellectually deficient and persons who require psychological support, allowing them to approach the museum s collection by means of attractive and stimulating themes. The tour is developed in collaboration with La Communauté de l Arche en Pays Toulousain from Blagnac. This a free tour, and reception distributes a guidebook called Easy Aeroscopia, allowing these visitors to discover the museum at their own pace. Cultural events: Les Envolées Cultur ailes During the National Tourism and Handicap Days, on the 28th and 29th of March, the museum favoured diversity by offering something for everyone: - A Discovery Tour translated into French Sign Language - A surprising presentation of the non-profit organisation Les Mirauds volants, allowing the blind and visually impaired to discover the joys of flight. 22 Logbooks: les carnets de bord The year 2015 marked the 60 th anniversary of the first flight of (in the words of General de Gaulle) «the swift, safe, sweet Caravelle» which attracted nearly 800 people. On this occasion, the public enjoyed the chance to board the Sud Aviation Caravelle, the secrets of which were revealed during presentations throughout the day. The artist and painter Jean-Pierre Condat presented his work. Photography by Jean Dieuzaide and wind tunnel scale models were also on display. Personalities from the field of aviation: Michel Rétif, a test flight engineer of Caravelle; Yves Marc, a journalist and author; Bernard Bacquié, an airline pilot of Caravelle, all came to share their memories of this aircraft. Younger audiences enjoyed a chance to try out the creation of graphic novels with the comics workshop C est MA Caravelle with the artist Sébastien Amouroux. Career Focuses Scheduled once each term and aimed at a family audience, these career presentations have so far attracted 2,200 people, with the goal of promoting professions related to aviation in an approachable way. On the 25th of April, the profession of aerospace engineer was in the spotlight with the participation of the organisation Réplic Air, presenting their ambitious project to build and fly the Dewoitine D551. Réplic Air presented the digital model to the public, as well as components of the D551. Other presentations by professional engineers, and members of the URISMIP (a society of scientists and engineers), animated the day. The Airbus Toulouse department of electrical equipment came to present the profession of cable fitter on the 4th of July. Our visitors got to try their hand at the techniques used to strip, crimp and plug electrical wiring, and produce electrical harnesses on a real routing table. On the 5th of December, in partnership with the ENAC (the National Civil Aviation School) and the DGAC (the National Aviation Authority), a day dedicated to the job of air traffic controller allowed our visitors to experiment with a new prototype 22

Our ambitions and projects for 2016 Strategic vectors Upcoming Events 24

Strategic vectors In 2016, Aeroscopia aspires to : Consolidate the very high level of attendance 2015, the first year of activity, was marked by a number of visitors that greatly exceeded our initial objectives will be a challenging year, with a goal of maintaining our target of 320,000 visitors overall (between Aeroscopia and Let s Visit Airbus). In order to accomplish this, our commercial strategy will consist in: - developing special events (privatisation of the museum outside opening hours) and package offers for companies (meetings and guided tours). - broadening our individual audience through the creation of an on line ticket service on the museum s website and on the Ticket Net and France Billet networks, as well as targeted promotional operations aimed particularly at travelers from abroad passing through Toulouse. - strengthening our commercial partnerships with tour operators, travel agencies and coach companies, in order to consolidate tourist group audiences. Reinforcing the scientific and technical influence of the museum Thanks to collaborations with aviation societies and partners of Airbus, the museum expanded its collection in its first year. For 2016, many donation projects or temporary loans have been submitted to the Scientific Council. These projects include: - The arrival at the museum of the Airbus A380 MSN002, the Pou du Ciel ultralight aircraft... and other aircraft restored by les Ailes Anciennes. - The transferal of the Pierre Sparaco collection: Mrs Sparaco, the widow of the famous journalist, has committed to donating the collections and archives of her late husband to the museum. 25

Promotion and research around these items by the Collections and Cultural Promotion Service allows the technical and scientific knowledge of the museum to be shared through university networks and external projects. It is in this framework that Groupe Manatour works actively with the PREAC (Resource Network for Artistic and Cultural Education), driven by the Academy of Toulouse, on scientific and technical themes. The operator is also associated with the MIRO Masters Degree in Cultural Tourism, organised by the University of Perpignan Via Domitia, the Universities of Andorra, Paris VI, the Balearic Islands and Sciences Po Toulouse, and has integrated the FRAMESPA, the Unité Mixte de Recherche Université de Toulouse Jean Jaurès and the CNRS To position Aeroscopia as a multi-activity tourism complex With more than 320,000 visitors, Aeroscopia and the Airbus factory tours have been met with immense enthusiasm. As of 2016, the inauguration of the Aircraft Workshop regrouping the aviation societies (les Ailes Anciennes Toulouse, l Aérothèque, Cap Avenir Concorde...) will complete our existing offer. The Aircraft Workshop will allow the enthusiasts who collect and restore these machines to share their knowhow with the general public. With the opening of the Ferme de Pinot in 2017, a new chapter will begin. Visits of the museum, the Airbus site and the Aircraft Workshop will be integrated into full days out, with the possibility of dining on site. The creation of a restaurant seating 150, operated by Manatour in this reconverted farmhouse, will offer a unique setting for groups and individual visitors alike. Two seminar rooms and a lecture theatre seating 60 will also be created for the development of business tourism. In addition, a documentation centre will allow us to develop the tools required to pass on scientific and technical information to aviation enthusiasts and students who will benefit from three rooms for educational workshops. 26
