3 editorials 05 Bernard Deladrière, Chairman of the Board Didier Tappero, CEO of Aircalin Didier Tappero, Chief Executive Officer For 30 years, New Caledonia s flagship international airline Aircalin has been keeping pace with progress in the airline industry and, importantly, with ongoing changes in government guidelines on our key role as the country s gateway to the rest of the world. Aircalin has thus, from its inception, played a major part in driving economic and social development in New Caledonia. In 2013, the company committed to implementing a bold and pragmatic new business plan, with the twin goals of optimising our flight schedule, with special emphasis on Asia, and expanding our regional network. Our aim is to boost visitor flows to promote and support «Aircalin plays a key role in driving development in New Caledonia. high-potential major projects, particularly in the field of hospitality services. To this end, and at the request of the local tourism sector and the Government of New Caledonia, in June 2014 Aircalin launched nonstop flights to a new Australian destination: Melbourne. Also in 2014, the airline added a supplementary medium haul narrow body aircraft to its fleet. Finally, I would like to stress that Aircalin also has a vital part to play in serving the public interest. We are proud of our role as the airline responsible for providing air links between France s three Pacific communities: New Caledonia, French Polynesia and Wallis-And-Futuna. Rigour and a can-do attitude are the keystones of Aircalin s development strategy. Rigour is our watchword: Aircalin is duty-bound to meet the highest international standards in terms of both aviation safety and quality of service, in compliance with European regulations (EASA) and the requirements of the French Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC). A member of IATA and an IOSA certified operator, Aircalin is also committed to the ISO 9001 certification process. Our airline is indeed on track to meet the highest expectations of our ever more exacting customers. A forward-thinking airline with a can-do attitude, Aircalin has built a fleet of high performing Airbus aircraft, ideally suited to its operations, and pursues a strategy of active development with robust positioning in target markets to ensure increased international visitor flows, particularly from destinations in North Asia and the Pacific region. Aircalin also plays a major role in ensuring passenger flights between New Caledonia and France, thanks to a strong partnership with Air France. And the airline also has a proactive home market strategy, concluding Interline Agreements which allow us to offer home customers codeshare flights to over 150 destinations worldwide. In addition to passenger traffic, Aircalin has developed a dedicated efficient Cargo strategy ensuring air freight carriage and services between New Caledonia and the rest of the world. Buoyed by the enthusiasm and commitment of our male and female staff, Aircalin is ready to take on fresh challenges and meet the ever more exacting demands of the aviation industry!
