25 SEISME13 Exercise Context and objectives Headquarter exercise (2 days) To test the management of a major crisis in the context of the simulation of an exceptional magnitude earthquake of 8.0 in French Caribbean's. How can the space component can be integrated within disaster management procedure? Awareness-raising action. CNES commitment under the Framework Convention with MEDDE Thematic Action n 5 Promote the development of satellite applications for the management of natural and technological risks.
26 SEISME13 Exercise Context and objectives On the basis of a scenario defined by BRGM & MEDDE (CMVOA- Cellule ministérielle de veille opérationnelle et d'alerte) with precise specifications in term of timing, stakes and key elements, forecasted impact of such disasters. Application of International Charter procedures: Triggered by the French Civil Security (DGSCGC/COGIC), CNES as Project Manager, SERTIT as Service Provider for value-added products. Exploitation of Pléiades VHR archives data as reference and for simulated crisis images.
