3 3 The location choice Key factors In order to identify the best location for the Human Technopole project within the Expo 2015 area, the following factors have been considered: Centrality and priorities of the scientific project Strategic positioning within the site Human Technopole as a focal point/hub Compactness of HT structures so as to avoid fragmentation across the campus A balanced mix between refurbishing of existing buildings (ready to be used), thus enhancing the legacy of Expo public investment, and the realisation of new bespoke buildings where specialised functions can be developed. 6 6 Human Technopole - The location Palazzo Italia is the focal point of the campus and the symbol of a virtuous reuse of the Expo 2015 legacy. NEW LAB. The compactness of the site allows to combine a progressive use of the existing buildings with the feature and the efficiency of new buildings.
