carmel del mar

Summary Carmel del Mar requires the most significant modernization. The proposed master plan calls for a full modernization of the campus including technology infrastructure. The existing portable buildings could be replaced with a permanent building to house the ESC programs as well as four additional classrooms on the second floor. The new construction also provides space for custodial storage, alleviating the current crowding that happens in the existing MUR. The proposed master plan also includes reconfiguration of the Library into an Innovation Center. There are additional reconfiguration components shown, aligning the master plan with the strategic plan and the vision and input provided by the Outreach Committee. SCOPE CATEGORIES 1 modernization* 2 technology infrastructure 3 collaboration space (classroom adjustments) 4 flexible furnishings 5 innovation center (including technology) 6 MUR upgrades (kitchenette + AV) 7 front office improvements 8 science, music, art, pe (esc program + adjacencies) 9 professional learning center 10 parent workroom 11 reconfigure administration 12 portables to permanent 13 security 14 covered dining 15 covered play 16 replace woodchips with rubber 17 parking and/or drop off 18 outdoor learning opportunities
del mar heights

Summary At Del Mar Heights, there is a significant need for modernization, especially in the existing classrooms, administration and MUR. The proposed master plan includes reconfiguration of the Library into an Innovation Center and replacement of portable buildings with new construction, giving appropriate space for the ESC classrooms and dedicated storage rooms. There are additional reconfiguration components shown, aligning the master plan with the strategic plan and the vision and input provided by the Outreach Committee. SCOPE CATEGORIES 1 modernization* 2 technology infrastructure 3 collaboration space (classroom adjustments) 4 flexible furnishings 5 innovation center (including technology) 6 MUR upgrades (kitchenette + AV) 7 front office improvements 8 science, music, art, pe (esc program + adjacencies) 9 professional learning center 10 parent workroom 11 reconfigure administration 12 portables to permanent 13 security 14 covered dining 15 covered play 16 replace woodchips with rubber 17 parking and/or drop off 18 outdoor learning opportunities
del mar hills

Summary At Del Mar Hills, there is a significant need for modernization and some reconfiguration of existing spaces. By converting the existing nodes between the classrooms to shared spaces that connect internally, the students will be able to circulate safely through the campus. The proposed master plan also includes replacement of portable buildings with new construction and reconfiguration of the Library into the Innovation Center. By moving Art, the Kindergarten classrooms can be adequately sized with dedicated student restrooms. The replacement of portables on this site will result in a need to find an alternate location for the District Technology offices and the District book storage. There was also discussion in the outreach meetings to relocate the Board meetings that occur here to allow for more site specific access and activities. SCOPE CATEGORIES 1 modernization* 2 technology infrastructure 3 collaboration space (classroom adjustments) 4 flexible furnishings 5 innovation center (including technology) 6 MUR upgrades (kitchenette + AV) 7 front office improvements 8 science, music, art, pe (esc program + adjacencies) 9 professional learning center 10 parent workroom 11 reconfigure administration 12 portables to permanent 13 security 14 covered dining 15 covered play 16 replace woodchips with rubber 17 parking and/or drop off 18 outdoor learning opportunities
torrey hills

Summary At Torrey Hills the modernization need is moderate; however, there is a potential to increase class size by converting the existing focus rooms to become part of the larger classroom space. Like the other campuses, the proposed master plan also includes reconfiguration of the Library into the Innovation Center. New construction proposed on this site provides a small storage room for the science program. There is also new construction shown for the relocation of the CDC, including improving drop-off and parking. There are additional reconfiguration components shown, aligning the master plan with the strategic plan and the vision and input provided by the Outreach Committee. SCOPE CATEGORIES 1 modernization* 2 technology infrastructure 3 collaboration space (classroom adjustments) 4 flexible furnishings 5 innovation center (including technology) 6 MUR upgrades (kitchenette + AV) 7 front office improvements 8 science, music, art, pe (esc program + adjacencies) 9 professional learning center 10 parent workroom 11 reconfigure administration 12 portables to permanent 13 security 14 covered dining 15 covered play 16 replace woodchips with rubber 17 parking and/or drop off 18 outdoor learning opportunities
ashley falls

Summary The proposed master plan for Ashley Falls includes a light modernization as well as the conversion of the Library and Technology classroom to an Innovation Center. The proposed master plan at Ashley Falls also shows replacing the existing portable campus of CDC with a new construction building. There are additional components shown, aligning the master plan with the strategic plan and the vision and input provided by the Outreach Committee. SCOPE CATEGORIES 1 modernization* 2 technology infrastructure 3 collaboration space (classroom adjustments) 4 flexible furnishings 5 innovation center (including technology) 6 MUR upgrades (kitchenette + AV) 7 front office improvements 8 science, music, art, pe (esc program + adjacencies) 9 professional learning center 10 parent workroom 11 reconfigure administration 12 portables to permanent 13 security 14 covered dining 15 covered play 16 replace woodchips with rubber 17 parking and/or drop off 18 outdoor learning opportunities

sycamore ridge

Summary The proposed master plan for Sycamore Ridge is mostly impacted by relocating the existing CDC classrooms to another site. This gives classrooms back to the campus to create K-6 capacity for enrollment growth and to help balance the enrollment in the district. A light modernization, reconfiguration of the Library into an Innovation Center and reconfiguration of the front office are also illustrated. There are additional components shown, aligning the master plan with the strategic plan and the vision and input provided by the Outreach Committee. SCOPE CATEGORIES 1 modernization* 2 technology infrastructure 3 collaboration space (classroom adjustments) 4 flexible furnishings 5 innovation center (including technology) 6 MUR upgrades (kitchenette + AV) 7 front office improvements 8 science, music, art, pe (esc program + adjacencies) 9 professional learning center 10 parent workroom 11 reconfigure administration 12 portables to permanent 13 security 14 covered dining 15 covered play 16 replace woodchips with rubber 17 parking and/or drop off 18 outdoor learning opportunities
ocean air

Summary The proposed master plan for Ocean Air identifies fewer improvements are needed than at other campuses since it is a newer school built in In addition to the significant improvement for technology infrastructure needed at Ocean Air, the proposed master plan includes creating an Innovation Center and a dedicated Professional Learning Space.
