It is a colloquium for the review of key maritime law issues in the 21 st century. The previous Marlaw summit ok place, with great success, in Valencina (Seville) in Spain in April The Marlaw meetings are held every two years. MARLAW 2007 will take place from 12 th 15 th September, based at the Hotel Menr at Vathy, in the Ionian island of Ithaki (Ithaca). MARLAW 2007 goes Greece, a leading shipping nation, and will

2 have its location in the famous and beautiful island of ITHACA, homeland of the king and navigar ODYSSEUS (Ulysses) for commemorating 30 centuries from the Homerian poem (estimated on the IX century BC). The colloquium will particularly be sought promote an exchange of ideas over latest issues such as the above and others for sustaining a continuing research on shipping law. It does not include travelling arrangements, dinner first evening, island ur (optional). The Colloquium is limited 50 participants only. The proceedings will be conducted in English. 2. The Organization has arranged accommodation in several local lodges. Participants will be allocated in order of registration ( first come, first served ) and the first hotel be occupied will be Hotel Menr (venue of the summit), where the number of rooms is limited Transfer will be available every day from all of the accommodation places Hotel Menr.

5 4. Breakfast, luncheons and coffees will be served in the Hotel Menr every day. 5. There is no special attire. Casual clothes recommended. Shorts allowed. Ties and dark suits prohibited. 6. All participants are responsible for organising their own transport Ithaca Island. We recommend as the best route Athens-Patras by coach and Patras-Ithaca by ferry. Coaches from Athens Main Coach Station Patras run every hour and take 2.5 hours. Two ferry boats sail from Patras Ithaca (one sp at Kephalonia) at and hours. Sailing time 2.5 hours. The evening ferry from Patras is recommended because it arrives at Vathy (Ithaca) very close Hotel. Rates: 14,50 (per way).
