Competitions are important, but not as much as developing individual basketball skills. The camp is designed for players who seriously want to improve their game. The basketball facilities are carefully selected to ensure the best conditions for players and avoid the heat and humidity of the summer months on the Mediterranean coast. Language courses are specifically designed for teenagers and make use of an active, practical and communicative methodology to guarantee that students learn as quickly and effectively as possible. 20 Lessons are in small groups with a maximum of 7 students per classroom to ensure that students receive personalised teaching. Although students work on a variety of skills including speaking and fluency, listening and reading comprehension and writing, the predominant focus is on communication skills. On the first day of the course, students take a written test and have oral interview with the teacher responsible for level placement. International levels atmosphere Our aim is not only to teach another but to introduce teens from different countries to each other to discuss and compare their lives, issues and concerns while speaking a new. 26 accommodation Players live in a modern Residence- Dormitory in mini-apartments *** Hotel accommodation The housing for the residence camp participants has been carefully selected and inspected by Zador staff. Players staying overnight live in 4 person apartments with 2 twin ensuite rooms and a small common living area with a small fridge and a microwave. All rooms are equipped with air-conditioning and internet connection. It is a modern building with a canteen and restaurant, TV rooms, a computer room, laundry facilities and several common areas to relax as well as a swimming pool. 28 quick facts about the residence Basketball coaches and live-in adult supervisor for every 15 players The Villa Universitaria is a modern residential complex and one of the best student residences in the Valencian Autonomous Community, with excellent levels of quality and comfort. Quality facilities Full board accommodation All rooms are exterior-facing and and are exceptionally bright. Each room has a fully-equipped bathroom, wired internet connection, TV, air-conditioning and a kitchenette. These 18 square metre rooms are fullyfurnished with a bed, wardrobe, bookshelf and study desk. From Monday to Friday participants have full board meals consisting of daily buffet-style breakfast, lunch and dinner. At the weekend players have breakfast and an evening meal at the residence and are provided with a packed lunch to take on excursions. One camp counsellor for every participants During their stay, participants take part in planned activities alongside both Spanish and foreign participants from the tennis, sailing, windsurfing and golf camps. Various Ac vi es schedule A wide range of age-appropriate activities allow participants to learn about Spanish culture, discover places on the Costa Blanca, try Spanish cuisine, play at the beach, practice new sports and have fun at an amusement park with teens from Spain as well as other countries. On Monday to Friday activities last for approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, from 18:30 to 20:30-21:00. On Friday evening there is a farewell party after dinner until 02:00. 38 insurance health care Private medical, travel, accident and civil liability insurance coverage for all participants Private insurance All participants are covered by a health, accident, travel and civil liability insurance included in the camp fees. This medical assistance, with one of the highest coverage limits on the market, covers: Illnesses or accidents, with repatriation and relocation to country of origin 38 Travel and baggage delays Search for and localization of lost baggage Compensation in cases of stolen baggage Loss of services previously contracted Accidents while travelling in Spain If required, participants may opt to purchase a cancellation insurance policy. 39 insurance health care Please do not hesitate to ask for insurance policy and cancellation insurance details... In case of emergency, Zador staff will immediately contact the person indicated at enrollment. Insurance Zador purchases a private insurance for every student and acts merely as an intermediary between the insurance company and the student. A copy of the policy will be sent to parents /guardians. Procedure policy in case of illness As stated in the parental permission form, if a minor requieres medical treatment, a physiotherapist/nurse will provide appropriate medical care during the camp programme. If campers are seriously ill or injured, they will be taken to the hospital or an ambulance will be called. In less severe circumstances, campers will be immediately taken to a doctor indicated by the insurance company. In both cases, Zador staff will immediately contact parents and/or guardians. Cancellation insurance If desired, participants may purchase an optional cancellation insurance policy. Cancellation insurance must be purchased at the time of reservation and payment. 40 pick-up drop-off Participants may book a transfer service from Alicante airport, train or bus station Optional Transfer service Alicante has excellent connections with other cities in Spain and Europe. Alicante airport (El Altet) is located 11 km from Alicante and it is about 30 min from the airport to the city centre. Transfer service from Alicante airport, bus/coach or train station is NOT included in the package price. Upon request, a pick-up service is available from the airport, train or bus/coach station. The cost for this service varies depending on the time and place of arrival or departure as well as the age of the participant and if he/she is flying as an unaccompanied minor (UM). 40 Language Basketball Camp ALICANTE Spain

41 pick-up drop-off Zador provides a 24-hour pick-up service on request to go directly to the accommodation... The conditions under which airlines accept unaccompanied minors vary. It is always important to check directly with the carrier before booking the flights. Arrival normal transfer transfer for UM normal transfer As Alicante airport and the train and bus/coach stations are small, campers will quickly see a person with a name sign waiting at the terminal exit (only one in Alicante airport). Arrival Please inform us if the camper will travel as an unaccompanied minor (UM) in order to organise the pick-up and drop-off service. Please take into account that if you do not notify us, the airline will not allow your child to leave the terminal. Departure Campers must leave the residence 3 hours before their flight, 2 hours before their train or 1 hour before their bus/coach departure. Please, take these times into account when booking the tickets. A person working on behalf of Zador will accompany your child during check-in. Departure transfer for UM The name, address, phone number and passport number of the person picking up the minor at the destination airport must be provided. 44 overnight check-in check-out All overnight participants should arrive on Sunday evening and leave the accommodation on Saturday morning Par cipants coming with their family Arrival Day: Sunday before the camp start date Arrival Time: From 16:00 to 20:30 For early arrivals, participants can go to the apartments from 12:00 to leave their luggage and return for dinner at 20:30. 47 useful information Every day participants must wear appropriate sports clothing and extra clothes to change into for the school and Alicante city centre. It is forbidden to wear swimsuits on the street. How can I enroll my child on the camp Complete the online registration form: If there is more than one participant, please complete one form for each. Please check that you have completed all the items with * Otherwise, it is impossible to submit the form. After submitting the form, the website becomes blank and a message will appear at the top of the screen beginning with: "We have already received your registration..." indicating that the information has been saved in our database. Within two working days you will receive an with the camp price including all the services requested and instructions on how to make the payment. You can either pay a deposit or the payment in full. The registration is not valid until we receive the payment in full. Participants will be placed on a first come first serve basis after receiving registration forms and payments. If a participant decides to travel during the period of the reservation and he/she does not attend some lessons or training sessions, no refund will be given. Are campers supervised? Yes to both questions. The residence is in the suburbs of Alicante, in a very quiet and safe neighbourhood, in the University of Alicante area. If Basketball Camp participants have residence accommodation, they are highly supervised. Only during their free time or during the time to rest can they be in the common rooms or watching TV without camp counsellors, who remain available in the building. Campers must participate in all scheduled on campus and off campus activities, for which there are always adult supervisors. Campers cannot leave the camp premises alone. Only campers can go out alone with prior parental permisssion. How many players are in the same room? The majority of rooms are twin rooms, although there are several triple rooms. Single rooms are available on request.?? How do I handle roommate requests? There is a question on the enrollment form where you can specify if the camper is travelling with a companion and write the companion's name. If they are the same gender, we can accommodate them together. Can parents join the Basketball Camp? 51 ? Is there accommodation available before or after the Camp? Yes, this is possible because the tennis, sailing, windsurfing and golf camps are from June 29 to August 17, and therefore there will already be adult supervisors at the residence dormitory. Additional accommodation is available at an extra cost, but the camper may have to change his/her room at the residence dormitory. The extra cost depends not only on the accommodation price but also on the activities scheduled for the extra days, as participants cannot be alone in the residence. Is there a laundry service provided? The residence has a laundry room with coin operated washing machines and dryers (approx per load) and players can do laundry in their free time. Are the campers placed into groups based on age or ability? Both. Coaches first divide campers into groups based on age. Then campers are evaluated by staff as they go through a series of skill testing drills. What are the ratios between staff and participants? At the training sessions we typically have 7 8 players per coach, plus additional staff on campus, including trainers, directors and assistants. At the school, there are 7 students per classroom. Are all fees included in the camp price? Yes, except arrival or departure transfer services, lunch on the first day for early arrivals, lunch on the last day for late departures, optional laundry service, and personal expenses (beverages, ice creams, etc.). What is the best time for phone calls Although mobile phones are not forbidden at the camp, they will not be allowed at training sessions or in classes, and their use may be regulated. Please also be aware of the possibility that phones may run out of battery, break or be lost. Campers have free time at: 8:00 to 9:00, 12:30 to 14:00 and 21:30 to 22:00. Please arrange suitable calling times with your son/daughter. Parents, please note: If your son/daughter has a mobile phone, please avoid calling every day to check if everything is ok. Among the educational merits of a teenager attending the camp is the experience they gain of being away from home. Furthermore, if you are based abroad, it is important that you avoid night time phone calls by taking into account the time difference with Spain.
