2 Jesus at The Sight & Sound Theater & Penn Dutch Lunch The Sight & Sound Theater invites us to experience the greatest story of all time! Jesus is the action packed musical stage adventure that takes us on a miraculous journey alongside the most famous person to ever walk the earth and the everyday people whose lives he changed forever. Not only will we be completely immersed in the spectacular epic events of the story, but we experience this incredible adventure as it unfolds on its 300-foot long wrap-around stage with 40-foot-tall sets, toe-tapping songs, professional actors and a message of hope. Our reserved seats are in the first and second row of the balcony. This is perhaps the best location to appreciate the grandeur of this one-of-a-kind theater. Prior to the show, we enjoy an included buffet lunch in Miller s Smorgasbord. Cherry Blossoms at The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens & Old Westbury Gardens Our day begins with a visit to The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, consistently rated as one of the finest gardens in the USA. Spring is in the air and with it comes a rainbow of colors throughout the 52-acres of these gardens. Now is a special time of year to stroll these gardens since most of the cherry trees, magnolias, lilacs, wildflowers, orchids, and rhododendrons should be in or near bloom. Make sure to explore the Cherry Esplanade and Cherry Walk in the Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden and view the bonsai museum in the Steinhardt Conservatory. After time to stroll through the gardens and browse in the shops, we enjoy lunch on our own in the garden s café. From here we travel to nearby Old Westbury Gardens. After a tour of this elegantly furnished mansion, which contains a priceless collection of furnishings, time is provided to stroll through its fine gardens. 3 The 2018 Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival Independence Hall ~ Liberty Bell ~ Congress Hall ~ Reading Terminal Market Our day begins with a tour of Independence Hall, where the Continental Congress wrote the United States Constitution and signed the Declaration of Independence. We also tour Congress Hall where George Washington handed the presidency over to John Adams. The Liberty Bell is a National Treasure, which we are able to view before lunch. Lunch is on our own in the Reading Terminal Market (1893), one of America s largest and oldest public markets. It offers a wide array of restaurants and shops. This afternoon, we join in the festivities of the Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival, an annual event that takes place in this charming neighborhood. It features fashion, arts, culinary demonstrations, street cafes, live music and entertainment, family fun, beer and cocktail samplings and about 100 booths of various vendors. This tour requires a little more walking than some other tours, though not all at once. Our impersonator, Kavan, has won multiple Elvis competitions around the world and recently won the BBC s World s Best Elvis Competition. 4 Spirit of New York Lunch Cruise During The Parade of Ships l ; l Ahoy! Fleet Week NYC is a week long celebration in New York City, which honors the members of the United States Navy, Coast Guard and Marine Corps. Every year this party kicks off with the Parade of Ships. This spectacular flotilla of visiting vessels and tall ships that cruise along the Hudson River takes place prior to them docking in Manhattan and nearby boroughs. This afternoon, we are treated to a two-hour luncheon (buffet) cruise while the Parade of Ships takes place. From the comfort of our ship, we will view the ships as they cruise past us. It s an exceptional way to view the majesty and beauty of these world-class vessels. This is the currently scheduled time of The Parade of Ships. We stroll at our own pace along the tiny cobblestone alley and take in the charm of this area while enjoying crafts, music and colonial games. 5 Long Island Nature Boat Cruise ~ Historic Stony Brook ~ Three Village Inn Leave the driving to us as we travel to the North Shore of Long Island to the charming town of Stony Brook. Here there is time to stroll its streets, browse in its many unique stores and explore the waterfront area. This afternoon we board a nature cruise in the beautiful wetlands filled with birds and marine life near Stony Brook Harbor. A naturalist accompanies us on our 1 1/2-hour nature cruise and provides us with the history, geology and ecology of the area of West Meadow Creek. Remember to bring binoculars for close-up views of birds and other wildlife. A delightful lunch is included in the Three Village Inn, an historic, elegant inn. This area gem has been delighting its patrons since In case of high winds and or lightning, this boat cruise may be cancelled. Twilight/Evening Cruise of New York City bbbbbbb Dinner in Little Italy ~ 911 Memorial ~ Battery Park Esplanade lllllllll Our day begins with a visit to the lower Manhattan waterfront. Once known as the World Financial Center, after several billion dollars of renovations, it is known today as Brookfield Place. We arrive in time for a stroll along the Battery Park Esplanade and a visit to the 911 Memorial. Time is available for a light snack at Hudson Eats, a new and exciting food hall at Brookfield Place. We then make our way to Mulberry Street, in the heart of Little Italy, for an early included dinner. Next, we enjoy breathtaking views of The New York City Skyline, as we embark on a two-hour Circle Line Twilight/Evening Cruise. Capture magical moments as the sunlight fades onto the harbor of Manhattan and the twinkling of lights make the city skyline come alive. Highlights include: The Statue of Liberty and the spectacular skyline of Lower and Midtown Manhattan. 6 Three Islands in a Day ~ Governors Island - Staten Island ~ Empire Outlets l This morning we visit Governors Island, an historic park, recreation and festival area. We arrive via a short ferry ride from lower Manhattan. Here we are free to enjoy this island on our own. Things to do are a ranger-led walking tour, visit the historic fort, the Admiral s House and other buildings that contain current exhibits. A leisurely stroll around the island (approximately 2.5 miles) affords beautiful views of the surrounding area. Once back in Manhattan, we walk next door to the Staten Island Ferry Terminal. Once on the ferry, we take in beautiful views of NYC. The ferry docks at the brand new Empire Outlets, a world-class retail destination and New York City's first and only shopping outlet. Located on Staten Island's waterfront, it hosts approximately 100 shops of the finest brands, an extensive array of waterfront restaurants and unparalleled views of New York City. After lunch on our own, with time to explore New York City s newest destination, we depart to New Jersey. Who knows who will be seated near us. After lunch, we enjoy a guided tour of the United Nations, the setting for the largest gathering of world leaders in history. Our tour includes an in-depth understanding of the UN as we visit many of its public rooms and view the artwork that is donated by numerous countries.
