4 One World Observatory The New York Stock Exchange The National September 11 Memorial HISTORIC DOWNTOWN + SEPTEMBER 11 MEMORIAL + ONE WORLD OBSERVATORY (MONDAY, MAY 6, 2019 Three-Night Package) Discover how New York became what it is today! Visit Battery Park where the Dutch first settled in a town they called Nieuw Amsterdam. Drive through the financial center that sprung up during the British Occupation and established a commercial center, now the site of the New York Stock Exchange. Across the street, visit the exact spot where George Washington was sworn in as the president of the newly-founded United States. Following, you ll visit the World Trade Center site and the National September 11 Memorial where the Twin Towers once stood. The Memorial Park surrounds two square waterfalls the largest constructed waterfalls in North America - which cascade into reflecting pools finally disappearing into the footprints of the former Twin Towers. The names of victims who were lost in the 1993 bombing and 2001 attacks are etched in bronze around the edges of the pools. Your tour culminates at the spectacular One World Observatory described as much more than views from the top! With a million things to experience in New York City, there s only one way to truly see them all. Start your tour by ascending to the top of the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere in less than sixty seconds, then look toward the horizon and feel the city s invincible spirit. Note: Approximate tour time is 8:30 am 12:30 pm. You ll have the opportunity to grab lunch on your own before boarding your coach back to the hotel. 5 Harbor to Ellis Island offers splendid panoramas of the lower Manhattan skyline and brushes past the Lady in the Harbor who stands 151 feet tall on an 80-foot pedestal. The Statue of Liberty has welcomed visitors to our shores for more than 125 years and is known around the world as a symbol of freedom and liberty. Most people don t realize, however, that the best photos of the statue are from the boat and not the island. You will disembark at the Ellis Island Immigration Museum, which pays tribute to the millions of brave individuals who fled oppression to start over in the New World. Visit the Baggage and Registration Hall where 40 percent of Americans can trace an ancestor who arrived here. Fascinating exhibits explain the history of the people who came to begin new lives in a city of streets paved with gold. Note: Approximate tour time is 8 am 1 pm and does not include Liberty Island. A boxed lunch will be provided on Ellis Island. Upon arriving back at the hotel, you ll have the full afternoon and evening to explore the city on your own.
