4 Featured FOCIS Adapter Tips 2018 The FFLX-01-ULCHD (tip ID LCNGU) is an LC PC/UPC adapter tip for ultra high density Optical Distribution Frames such as the NG4 access trays from CommScope. The FFLX-01-ALC2 (tip ID ALC2) is an LC APC bulkhead adapter tip that includes an internal prism to optimize endface illumination level. AFL T&I is now offering an adapter tip for MPO-16 UPC connectors and bulkheads. Part number is DFS MR and the tip ID is MTP16, as shown. The DFS MR Dual Axis (up/down & right/left) mechanical scanning base is now recommended for all MPO and MPO-16 ferrule inspection applications, especially APC. The ability to adjust in both spatial dimensions can help accurately image angled end-faces. For dense LC bulkhead environments, the short (~60 mm) extended adapter tip for APC ferrules (part number DFS MR, tip ID LCA-S) is recommended. 4
