7 - 7 - MOUNTAIN BIKING Take advantage of the picturesque bush location & riding direct from the camp participants can experience the beauty of the local forestry trails taking in the awesome coastal scenery. Excellent Instructors, multiple route choices & good quality bikes of all sizes enable the team to cater for all age & skill levels from Lower Primary through to High School ROCK CLIMBING Climb to new heights on the largest Rock Climbing Tower in South-East Queensland, an impressive 12- meters high. This activity can cater from beginners to expert climbers with up to eight different climbing routes, depending on the participant s ability. Our qualified instructors will give climbers one-on-one tips and techniques to ensure they get the most out of their ability. CANOEING This activity offers the opportunity to learn useable skills, have fun and develop an understanding and appreciation of rivers and their surrounding environments. Canoeing can be successfully mastered by participants of all ages and encourages the development of communication, support and teamwork. INFLATABLE WATER PARK This is quickly becoming one of our most popular activities, with the entire group taking part together. Just a short walk away, we visit Red Jacket Aqua Fun Park. Everyone is sure to have blast with a 50-minute on water session time with inflatable obstacles, slides and jumps. PFD s are worn throughout the session and on-site lifeguards provide a full safety brief prior to the session beginning. This is sure to be a favourite for the group! *Additional waivers are required for use of the park INTERMEDIATE SKILLS RAFT BUILDING This session is conducted on the Maroochy River, a short walk from Camp. Raft Building involves group problem solving, team work and construction skills. Basic instruction in knot tying and lashing is included. Participants are then required to construct rafts from resources provided and complete set challenges using their vessels. This is a fun and often wet session, fostering teamwork and friendly competition. FENCING Fencing is a unique opportunity for participants to try their hand at a new skill. We supply all the safety equipment and resources whilst under the supervision of a specially qualified fencing instructor. This is an interactive team based activity where participants learn the history of the sport, practice some fun pirate skills and Olympic style duals. Fun team challenges finish off the session where everyone gets to test out their new skills.

8 - 8 - SOFT SKILLS ARCHERY This is one of the most popular traditional school camp activities that can be enjoyed by all children regardless of their age, ability or skill level. Using an array of bows suited to specific age and participant abilities under skilled supervision, this activity is sure to hit the mark. BEACH GAMES Designed for fun and laughter to wear energetic campers out. Games are tailored to suit the group s age and program objectives, including traditional beach relays and competitions. This activity is best suited to primary school ages. Visiting the beach is a must, particularly for non-coastal schools. Conducted at North Shore patrolled beach, approximately 25-minute walk from Camp. NOTE: This activity does not involve free swimming, though participants may get wet during some games. BUSH SKILLS Bush Skills are a practical activity teaching participants skills and knowledge about surviving in the bush, camp craft and emergency situations. It includes hands on activities such as fire lighting without matches, shelter construction, damper making, water collection and navigation. CATAPULTS Incorporating the history and the use of catapults in medieval wars, participants are taught basic knot tying skills and design so that they can build their own team catapult. They then shoot sponges at each other to test out their skills and aim. MUD PIT CHALLENGE This session focuses strongly on team work and communication as participants work through various challenges of our army inspired Mud Pit Course. The Course has many traditional challenges including: rope swings; cargo nets; tyres and a mud trench. This is the perfect activity for anyone with a sense of adventure and fun and a willingness to get a little muddy. FIELD GAMES Includes all enjoyed field games such as Soccer, AFL, Rugby, Cricket and Lacoste. FISHING Enjoy a relaxing session on the banks of the Maroochy River wetting a line in hope of landing that big catch. All equipment is supplied and instructed by our staff. LOW ROPES AND INITIATIVES Cables, logs and ropes run throughout the trees for participants to challenge themselves in different ways, approximately 30cm off the ground. This activity requires team trust through a series of exercises. Participants do not wear harnesses therefore the use of spotting by team mates is a must. The low ropes are accompanied with an introduction session where the participants must demonstrate a series of basic trust exercise before being allowed on the course. ORIENTEERING How do you teach maths skills in the outdoors? Hand out the compasses and we re set for fun in the sun learning how to find your place in space. This session looks at compass use, pacing, recording data and working together as a team. This activity is sure to get everyone thinking and communicating effectively.

9 - 9 - RADIO ROGAIN This team based, timed, competitive challenge focuses on communication, spatial awareness and group dynamics. Participants are provided with a site map identifying the location of a series of check points. Working together each team must locate as many check points as they can within a given timeframe. Bonus points are earned by completing a radio based task at each check point. The use of radios as the communication media necessitates the relearning of basic communication etiquette (turn taking, listening skills, thinking before talking, being clear in communication) and provides some excellent talking points for debrief on communication. It s also a lot of fun and can be completed as a night activity TEAM BUILDERS Together Everyone Achieves More as groups rise to the challenge and fun of our many adventurous scenarios. On the educational side these sessions focus on developing the 5 Cs of team functioning (Communication, Co-operation, Commitment, Care & Concern). Groups have to work together negotiating solutions too increasingly and sometimes hysterical challenges. BUSH TREKKING Take a leisurely stroll through our conservation reserves as our leaders discuss the ecology of the area. Topics include: ecosystems, adaptations of organisms, transition of environments, bush tucker & remedies, catchment health, dune formation, foreign invaders & impact of human activity on the environment. This activity can be tailored to fit into any environmental subject students are currently studying at school and is modified to suit the age group. Various environmental activities are also enjoyed to further enhance Group s knowledge and understanding of environmental issues. Whole Group Round Robin Whole group round robin is the perfect way to get your entire group working together. This budget friendly activity is completed in the oval with students rotating through various team challenges and sporting games. PREMIUM ACTIVITIES SURFING Always a favourite, the Learn to Surf Program is designed to have all students catching waves, controlling surf board, paddling, standing up and riding the waves to the beach. A budget friendly option is to complete Surfing with the Buddy System where there is one board between two children. Both will be in the water at the same time taking turns, this helps the children feel more confident and have a more enjoyable experience. This activity is best aimed towards Upper Primary & High School children. Conducted at North Shore patrolled beach, approximately 25-minute walk from Camp. BODY BOARDING The Body Boarding Program is a great introduction to surf skills aimed at Primary School aged students. Students are taught how to catch waves, control, and learn to turn on the body boards. A budget friendly option is to complete Surfing with the Buddy System where there is one board between two children. Both will be in the water at the same time taking turns, this helps the children feel more confident and have a more enjoyable experience.
