If your child requires special accommodations (transportation, diet, food restrictions, extra supervision, other, etc.) while at camp, please contact the Director of Camp Administration PRIOR to REGISTERING YOUR CHILD for camp at or summercamp@gswny.org to discuss the possible accommodations that could safely and reasonably be made for your child. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE Girl Scouts of Western New York is dedicated to ensuring that all girls are able to attend camp. Financial assistance can now be requested with online camp applications! Please remember to provide/upload all required income verification documents. Funding for financial assistance is limited and early applications are encouraged. RESIDENT CAMP CARE PACKAGES Order your girl s care package as part of her camp registration. When ordering please include your girl s name, the camp she is attending and the session/ program. Your girl s care package will be delivered to her while she is at camp! Quantities are limited so order your camp care package early! 4 CAMP SEVEN HILLS GOODYEAR Camp Seven Hills is located in Holland, NY, and encompasses approximately 620 acres of woodland paths, sunny meadows, ponds, streams, and hills. The camp facilities includes a lake, pool, central dining hall, shower houses, cabin and platform tent units, a vast sports complex, horse stables and riding areas and a high- and low-ropes challenge course. At Camp Seven Hills girls in grades 1-12 will have an opportunity to participate in a variety of activities such as swimming, boating, outdoor skills, arts & crafts, ropes challenge course program, horseback riding, and out-of-camp trips. This is the perfect resident camp setting for your girl(s) to meet and make new friends, learn more about her abilities and share an authentic summer camp experience with others. Many campers return summer after summer for that special something they say Camp Seven Hills provides. VISITING CAMP Family members, friends, and general visitors can meet the staff and tour the camp during our Seven Hills Open House or when girls are brought to camp on Sunday. OPEN HOUSE AT SEVEN HILLS GOODYEAR Monday, July 1, to 8 p.m. Tours of Camp Seven Hills will be ongoing throughout this evening. While at camp, you will get a firsthand look at our top-notch facilities. Spend the evening meeting our qualified staff and observing Camp Seven Hills in its summer operation. Stop by the Tuck Shop for a look at our new summer merchandise. Open House will be on the Goodyear side of camp only: Olean Road (Rt 16), Holland, NY BUS TRANSPORTATION Bus transportation is available to Camp Seven Hills for an additional fee of $50 per girl per week. The schedule is listed by time, place, and bus stop. Please note that any bus stop stated in this brochure may be cancelled due to an insufficient number of boarding passengers. In this instance, the bus fee will be refunded. Bus refunds will not be given for any other reason or circumstance. The bus schedule and additional transportation information can be found on gswny.org. Please note that the Seven Hills bus schedule consists of one bus stop location for Session 4 only (Sun., July 28 and Fri., Aug. 2, 2019.)

Sleep in the one of our cool lodges at camp, while you swim, play games, make crafts, explore the forest, learn to make a fire, cook outside, and sample so many other fun parts of camp life. Don t forget to bring your best friend along with you! Girls, do you love animals and want to learn more about them? During this week you will tour the horse barn, spend time with the horses and speak to the riding director about what it takes to care for these beautiful animals. You will also learn about animal habitats, the plants they eat and how to follow their tracks. You will also take a day trip to Asha s Sanctuary to go behind-the-scenes with farm animals and learn how we can help them by our food choices. Don t forget swimming, arts & crafts, and lots of laughter is also included. Girls will earn requirements towards the following Girl Scout badges: Daisy Tula s Story (Be Courageous and Strong) Brownie Pets If you are a girl who loves horses, this introductory program is for you! Spend the week learning the basic ins and outs of the horse program. You will get your first riding lesson, take a tour of the barn, meet the horses, and try grooming, feeding, mounting, dismounting, and tack care with these friendly, four-legged friends. Girls will have one introductory riding lesson and one guided horse ride. Girls must wear long pants and boots with 3/4-inch heel. Time to get a little messy with goo, slime, and a bit of mud as we dive into Gross-ology Experiments 101! Join us as we raise gross to an art form. Make concoctions like glow-in-the dark slime and gummy snacks! Are you brave enough to eat dirt?! Come to camp and earn the rank of a Triple G - Gross Goop Guru. Girls will earn requirements towards the following Girl Scout badges: Daisy Clover s Petal (Use Recourses Resourses Wisely) Brownie Home Scientist Put your problem solving skills to the test as you spend this adventurous week searching for clues and solving riddles to find the treasures hidden throughout camp. Girls will practice the art of letterboxing by learning the basics, making stamps, thinking of clues, and creating a camp letterbox. Challenge your camp friends to see who can find the camp letterbox first. All of the other great aspects of camp are also included in this great creative week. Girls will earn requirements towards the following Girl Scout badges - Daisy Rosie s Petal (Make the World a Better Place) Brownie Letterboxer

7 PROGRAMS FOR GIRLS ENTERING GRADES 4-6 IN FALL 2019 Sneak-a-Peek Mini Session Session 4: July 28-31, 2019 Mini sessions run Sunday to Wednesday This program is for those who enjoy all the fun of camp, but would like to spend only a few days to check it out. In this session you can swim, play games, make crafts, explore the forest, learn to make a fire, cook outside, and making new friends. Fee: $245 per person Seven Hills Sisterhood Session 3: July 21-July 26, 2019 Registration closes July 8, 2019 In this program you and your friends make the choices that work for you. Select your favorite programs such as sports, outdoor skills, swimming, arts and crafts, and relaxation. 2 WEEKS! Camp Like a G.I.R.L. Sessions 2-3: July 14-26, 2019 Fee: $560 per person These two weeks are dedicated to you: the G.I.R.L. (go-getter, innovator, risk-taker, and leader). Be an innovator and create really delicious meals cooked over a campfire and then share with your fellow camp mates in the Seven Hills Outdoor Cook-Off. Take the lead and guide your group through the trails of Seven Hills to find the perfect spot for your overnight camping experience. Be that risk-taker who tries new things and explores all that camp has to offer. Girls will earn requirements towards the following Girl Scout badges: Junior - Camper, Simple Meals and Flowers Cadette New Cuisines, Trailblazing, Trees Seven Hills Sorcery Session 4: July 28-Aug. 2, 2019 Registration closes for July 15, 2019 The train to Camp Seven Hills' magic school is leaving! Head to the platform, and get on board! Once at camp join your fellow wizards as you make oozing potions, create your own house wardrobe, and play an exciting broomstick sports match. Who will win the Camp Seven Hills Wizard Cup? 6

8 PROGRAMS FOR GIRLS ENTERING GRADES 4-6 IN FALL 2019 Secret Agent Super Sleuths with day trip Session 2: July 14-19, 2019 Fee: $385 per person Camp Adventure Girl Calling all future CIA and FBI agents to Camp Seven Hills! Turn your unit into your very own Secret Super Sleuth Headquarters as you create secret codes to communicate with your secret agent pals. Put your skills to the test as you crack the code to the Camp Seven Hills Break-Out, then take a trip to the Buffalo Escape Room, where you can challenge your sleuthing skills in real time! Girls will earn requirements towards the following Girl Scout badges: Junior Detective Cadette Special Agent This is your chance to learn some serious outdoor skills and time-honored wilderness techniques like fire and shelter making, finding and purifying water, and identify plants for food, medicine, and utility. What is a solar still? Which way is north? Put your skills to the test. All this and other fun stuff at camp await you. Do you have what it takes to be a Camp Adventure Girl? Successful completion of this program will gain you membership into the Camp Adventure Club. Be Happy, Relax and Namaste Session 2: July 14-19, 2019 Session 4: July 28-Aug. 2, 2019 Climbing Masters! Session 4: July 28-Aug. 2, 2019 Fee: $360 per person Come on, be happy, and join us for a week of camping and relaxation. Create your own Japa Mala bead strings used in ancient Japanese meditation, design thankful jars to share with others, learn, and practice the latest yoga poses, and with help from your yoga instructor, make a special Zen Garden. All of the necessary things for you to relax, have fun, and Namaste. Challenge yourself and master the elements of the Seven Hills Ropes Course. Test your skills on elements such as Islands in the Sky, Two-Line, Catwalk, Dangle Duo, Burma Bridge or Zip-Line. You can do all of this while still enjoying the splendors of camp life. Girls will earn the Seven Hills ropes course patch along with the activity rider for each ropes course element that they participate on. 7

9 PROGRAMS FOR GIRLS ENTERING GRADES 4-6 IN FALL 2019 Climb High at Sky High with day trip Sessions 2-3: July 14-26, 2019 Fee: $610 per person Spend two weeks challenging yourself and mastering 2 WEEKS! the elements of the Seven Hills Ropes Course, once your skills are mastered it s off to Sky High Adventure Park in Ellicottville, NY, for more fun and adventure. All of this while still enjoying the splendors of camp life. Girls will earn the Seven Hills ropes course patch along with the activity rider for each ropes course element that they participate on. Long Reins, Free Walk Registration closes June 26, 2019 Session 4: July 28-Aug. 2, 2019 Fee: $445 per person This program is open to riders at ALL LEVELS beginner to advanced. The emphasis will be on the basics of English riding and how to apply them to dressage. Lessons also include stable management, basic barn chores, grooming, cleaning the stalls, and feeding the horses. Lessons will be given based on ability and girls will perform a dressage presentation at the end of the camp week. Girls will also learn what a judge would be looking for in order to get the most points and what the different rules are in the sport. Campers will earn the horse patch with rider level(s). Girls participating in the two-week program will remain at camp the entire two weeks. A Horse, Of Course Sessions 2-3: July 14-26, 2019 Fee: $690 per person This equestrian program includes all level of horseback 2 WEEKS! riding. Your lessons will focus on balance, seat equitation, control at a walk and trot (canter for more advanced riders), and horse management including basic barn chores, grooming, cleaning the stalls, and feeding the horses. At the end of your two weeks have a Mini Horse Show for family and friends and win prizes for showmanship and sportsmanship. Campers will earn the horse patch with rider level(s). Girls participating in the two-week program will remain at camp the entire two weeks. Seven Hills Firebenders Session 3: July 21-26, 2019 Registration closes July 8, 2019 Learn the ancient art of fire-making. Across the world, cultures have been practicing the art of fire for thousands of years and with that the creations of numerous time-honored techniques including, friction-fire (bow-drill method), the fire piston, flint/magnesium and steel, and more. Learn how to handle matches safely, plus gain a respect and reverence for the flames and heat they provide. Our outdoor professionals will teach all these skills and how to apply them in outdoor cooking with edible plants, and even a few other outdoor skills. 8

10 PROGRAMS FOR GIRLS ENTERING GRADES 7-12 IN FALL 2019 Roller Coaster Mania with day trip Session 2: July 14-19, 2019 Fee: $385 per person Use your imagination! This week is dedicated to being creative! Using a variety of supplies such as K nex Kits and natural materials, you can create your own mini dream roller coaster. You ll get the real experience in life-sized fun when you take a trip to Darien Lake for a behind-the-scenes look at how roller coasters work. There will be plenty of time to enjoy the rest of the park and feel the rush of roller coaster mania. Underwater Robotics Wouldn t it be cool to work with robots like your favorite ones from the movies? Well now you can. Spend this week learning the ins and outs of underwater robotics. Girls will work with engineering professionals while creating and handling robots underwater! Don t miss this one-of-a-kind program. Time will also be left for enjoying the splendors of camp. 9 The Lazy Days of Summer Sessions 2-3: July 14-26, 2019 Fee: $560 per person The Seven Hills Amazing Race Mud Warriors Session 3: July 21-26, 2019 Registration closes July 8, 2019 Duct Tape Art Session 4: July 28-Aug. 2, 2019 Spend your time at Seven Hills lazing your days away 2 WEEKS! with friends. Sleep in late, lounge by the pool, or just catch up on one of your favorite books. In the evenings there are campfires to enjoy and sparkling stars to keep you company. #GirlScoutCampLife is what you make of it. The decision is yours during these relaxing weeks at camp. You have seen it on TV. Now it is your chance to do it at camp! Girls will test their teamwork to overcome and conquer challenges across six countries in camp. Road blocks might include climbing, shelter or raft building, archery, canoeing, tent pitching, fire building, outdoor cooking, kayaking, and more. It s non-stop adventure to the end! Successful completion of this program will gain you membership into the Camp Adventure Club. You and your fellow warriors will face off and compete in mental and physical challenges. Try your hand at a mud scavenger hunt, or a mud slip and slide, or maybe a mud obstacle course. The possibilities are endless! After a day of hard competition relax with a soothing mud bath or mud facial. All of the other great camp activities such as swimming, boating, outdoor cooking and more are also included. For girls with an artistic eye, this is the week and the place to create well, just about anything using duct tape. Use your imagination and creativity and make a purse or a wallet, or even jewelry. The possibilities are endless with just a little imagination and lots of duct tape! Cookouts, hiking, s mores, laughter, swimming and so much more are also included.

11 PROGRAMS FOR GIRLS ENTERING GRADES 7-12 IN FALL 2019 Scuba Diving Explorers Sessions 2-3: July 14-26, 2019 Registration closes June 3, 2019 Fee $635 per person Experience the underwater world through a mask, 2 WEEKS! snorkel, and breathing device. Professional scuba instructors from Dip N Dive will take you through every step necessary for you to obtain your Jr. Open Water Diver or your Open Water Diver scuba certification. Spend a week at camp training in our Seven Hills pool covering the first phase of your certification. Spend your second week completing the second phase: open water dive with overnight conducted at the Windmill Quarry, located in Fort Erie, Canada. When you surface, don t forget to leave time for all of the other great activities at Seven Hills. Participants must meet the basic swim requirements and health requirements set by Dip N Dive. If they do not, they will be placed in an alternate program at camp. (Basic swim consists of 200-yard swim, treading water for 10 minutes, and floating for 10 minutes, and swim underwater for 50 feet with one breath.) All participants are must attend a scuba orientation on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Buffalo Girl Scout Service Center. This is considered the first class of the program. If there is a scheduling conflict please contact Janet DePetrillo, Director of Camp Administration, at Drama Can Be So Wickedly Fun in NYC Session 4: July 28-Aug. 2, 2019 Registration closes April 1, 2019 Fee: $505 per person Add glitter and elbow grease to become a rising star. Learn some of the ins and outs of the theatre maybe try your hand at set design, makeup, designing costumes, and more. Spend Tuesday and Wednesday of this special week traveling to NYC to see the Broadway production of Wicked and partake in a Disney Broadway Classroom with professionals from the cast of Wicked. You will recreate a true Broadway rehearsal taken right from a scene of the famous musical. Time will be left to visit NBC Studios, and GSUSA headquarters, along with a little shopping. Registration for the program closes April 1, Don t miss out on this great program - Sign up now and take advantage of the Early Bird Discount. Girls and parents must attend a pre-trip orientation meeting scheduled for Thursday, June 6, 2019, from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Buffalo & Rochester Girl Scout Service Centers. Night Owls with Lasertron Sleep-in Fee: $405 per person Are you ready to experience nature s nightlife at Camp Seven Hills? Prowl around our trails at night, search the sky for a shooting star, have a glow-in-the-dark party with games, plan a kitchen raid, and shop in the Tuck Shop, all at night. You will also head out to Lasertron for a laser tag sleep-in. Stay up all night playing laser tag and games along with pizza and pop. After a hard night of play, sleep late the next morning with time to enjoy your favorite camp activities in the afternoon. Girls must be at least 46 inches tall in order to participate at Lasertron. 10

12 PROGRAMS FOR GIRLS ENTERING GRADES 7-12 IN FALL 2019 Riders Up! Session 4: July 28-Aug. 2, 2019 Fee: $445 per person This program is open to riders with skills at ALL LEVELS beginner through advanced. The emphasis throughout the week will be on the rider s position, how to control your horse, and learning about dressage. Stable management will also be taught including basic barn chores, grooming, cleaning the stalls, and feeding the horses. The girls will also learn what a judge would be looking for in order to get the most points and what the different rules are in the sport. Girls will receive lessons based on their riding ability and will perform a small horse presentation at the end of the camp week. Campers will earn the horse patch with rider level(s). Crazy for Horses Sessions 2-3: July 14-26, 2019 Fee: $690 per person On Belay Session 3: July 21-26, 2019 Registration closes July 8, 2019 Fee: $360 per person Cave Dwellers & Rafting Rascals Session 2: July 14-19, 2019 Registration Closes July 1, 2019 Fee: $405 per person Limit: 10 participants This equestrian program includes all levels of horseback 2 WEEKS! riding. How far you push yourself is up to you, but it s the experience that matters. You can do all of this while still enjoying the splendors of camp life. Girls will earn the Seven Hills ropes course patch along with the activity rider for each ropes course element that they complete. Back by popular demand, this program will provide you with the familiar adventures of caving/spelunking and whitewater rafting! Spend time out at Laurel Caverns Park in Farmington, PA, caving, rappelling and spelunking, then it is off to Ohiopyle State Park for adventurous whitewater rafting, hiking, exploring and camping. At the evening campouts, you will prepare dinners and share loads of laughs with friends under Pennsylvania s beautiful starlit skies. Some of the Seven Hills favorites (swimming, songs, campfires, and fun) are also included in this fantastic trip program. Girls will receive a special Girl Scout patch for completing the caving portion of this trip. Girls receive training prior to caving/rappelling & rafting. Parent consent letter and release forms will be sent to parents/ guardians at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the camp program. 11

Starting from scratch, raw materials, and girl power, you ll make your own wooden self-bow through traditional woodworking. You ll be instructed on the wisdom and knowledge of traditional bow crafting, how to use basic hand tools, cordage twisting for bow strings, ancient fire-bending techniques to straighten arrows and fletching with real feathers. You will, of course, have the chance to test out your handiwork with target practice in the woods and on the fields to round out this amazing experience. FAMILY AND FRIENDS EVENT AT CAMP SEVEN HILLS Camp Seven Hills Family Camp Weekend July 19-21, 2019 CHILDREN UNDER 5 YEARS OF AGE ARE FREE $60 per person (2 nights) $30 per person (1 night) $20 per person (Saturday during the day only) Minimum Capacity: 30 Make it a family affair at Camp Seven Hills. During your day enjoy swimming, boating, horseback riding, crafts, games, archery, or hiking the forest trails. Junior CITs can access all of the basic camp programs, (e.g., swimming, exploring nature, arts & crafts, and relaxing around campfires.) This is a two-week program, but girls go home over the weekend. No application, interview, or references required. This four-week course will concentrate on the fundamentals of the Girl Scout Camping program, counseling techniques, leadership, self-esteem, and provide skills that are necessary when working with younger campers. Participants will plan and assist with the supervision of activities, as well as assist with instruction supervised by senior staff. 15 CAMP TIMBERCREST Camp Timbercrest is located on 900 beautiful acres of the Allegheny forest in Randolph, NY. The camp facilities includes a 31-acre lake, numerous hiking and horseback riding trails, a central dining hall, shower house, cabin and platform tent units, and horse stables. Camp Timbercrest is the perfect setting for girls in grades 1-12 to experience a great traditional summer camp program. Girls will have an opportunity to participate in a variety of activities such as swimming, boating, sailing, kayaking, arts & crafts, archery, and horseback riding. While at Camp Timbercrest your girl(s) will be able to meet and make new friends, learn more about her abilities and share the joy of summer with others. OPEN HOUSE AT TIMBERCREST Take tours of Timbercrest and get a firsthand look at our top-notch facilities. Spend the evening meeting our qualified staff and observing camp in its summer operation. Learn the basics of baking as you prepare yummy snacks and desserts. Decorate cupcakes you make from scratch, indulge in chocolate fondue, and make your own special creation for the entire camp to see and taste. Create you very own pastry cookbook that you can take home and use with family and friends. Girls will earn requirements towards the following Girl Scout Badges: Junior Simple Meals Cadette - New Cuisines Here s your chance to learn and/or fine tune your outdoor skills. Outdoor professionals will work with and teach you different methods of fire building, outdoor cooking with edible plants, and shelter building. Identify things in nature, take a hike and learn to use a compass and map. Apply your skills and work as a team in the great outdoors. Wizard Camp Sessions 3: July 21-26, 2019 Registration closes July 8, 2019 Welcome to a week of wizardry and adventures! Make oozing and exploding potions, discover helpful plants, and try some magic defense techniques. Spend time conquering your fears with your friends as you play broomstick sports and compete in the Camp Wizard Cup. Learn the basics of Western riding techniques and what a dressage judge would be looking for during your dressage ride. Spend your week analyzing fingerprints, taking DNA samples, and researching hair samples. Think you can figure out who the culprit is? You will have a chance to display your burden of proof during the Camp Timbercrest Stolen Chocolate Chip Cookie Trial. Girls will work on requirements towards the following Girl Scout badge: Juniors Detective Cadettes Special Agent Tent, Trail, N Kayak Fee: $450 per person Discover and explore the natural splendors of camp. Professionals from Adventures in Fitness will spend three days and two nights teaching you the basics of backpacking and kayaking, compassing, knot-tying, building safe fires, outdoor cooking and low-impact camping. You will also learn how to develop an itinerary, pack your backpack and hike and camp out under beautiful starlit skies at Allegany State Park. You will learn the basics needed to prepare yourself for future wilderness trips of Camp Timbercrest. All the other wonderful activities of camp are also included. Create fun craft projects using a variety of supplies such as K nex Kits and natural materials. Create miniature theme park activities or water slides to show off to your friends. You will also get to see your creative park creations come to life when you take a trip to Splash Lagoon with your fellow Imagine and Connect friends and get a behindthe-scenes tour of how things operate. There will be plenty of time left to spend in the park, too. All this and the other great camp activities are included. Girls will earn requirements towards the Think Like An Engineer Journey. The Great Cupcake Challenge Session 3: July 21-26, 2019 Registration closes July 8, 2019 Calling all aspiring bakers! If you enjoy baking and want to learn more, this program is for you. Spend your week spicing it up in the kitchen at Camp Timbercrest. Girls will work with our head cook preparing a variety of different cupcakes and desserts. At the end of the week, compete in the Timbercrest Cupcake Challenge as you display your cupcake creation for your fellow campmates to try and vote on. Turn your drab jeans or T-shirt into something dazzling, or create a new and funky jean purse. Specialists from Fashion Lab NY will help you bring your creations to life and share with you the steps to starting your own design company. There will still be time left over to enjoy all of the wonders of Camp Timbercrest. Timbercrest Mud Challengers Session 2: July 14-19, 2019 Session 5: August 4-10, 2019 Timbercrest at Night with day trip Session 2: July 14-19, 2019 Fee: $385 per person Canoeing the Alleghany Reservoir Sessions 4-5: July 28-Aug. 9, 2019 Fee: $650 per person You and your fellow warriors will face off and compete in mental and physical challenges. Try your hand at a mud scavenger hunt, or a mud slip and slide, or maybe a mud soccer game, or even mud painting and sculpting. The possibilities are endless! After a day of hard competition relax with a soothing mud bath or mud facial. Do you like staying up late? Experience the Timbercrest nightlife. Hike the trails by flashlight, watch for shooting stars and play glow-in-the-dark games, or maybe go on a kitchen raid, and a little shopping at the trading post. You will also take a trip to Jamestown Bowling Company for bowling, and pizza. After a hard night of playing, sleep late into the morning and enjoy some of your favorite camp activities in the afternoon. Spend eight glorious days and seven exhilarating 2 WEEKS! nights discovering the wonderful sites of the Allegany Reservoir as it takes you through the state park and the national forest. Professional guides from Adventures in Fitness will start your trip at Webs Ferry in Allegany State Park and end your journey in Tionesta, PA. Paddle with friends, pitch tents, and share stores around the campfire at night. Girls will receive instruction in fundamentals of canoeing prior to trip departure. Girls must be in good physical condition and also meet the basic swim requirement. If girls do not meet the basic swim requirement they will be placed in an alternative camp program. (Basic swim consists of the front crawl and back crawl, as well as treading water for five minutes.) Girls and parents must attend a pre-trip orientation meeting scheduled for Thursday, June 13, 2019, from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Buffalo/Rochester Girl Scout Service Centers. 19

What a better way to spend a week than at Timbercrest putting your horse skills to the test? Spend time exploring the trails at camp as you prepare for a more challenging adventure off the property. Girls will spend 2 days and 1 night navigating the trails of Pine Hill State Forest, located in Randolph, NY. During the day girls will take exciting trail rides along Pine Loop, Hooks Trail, Frog s Run, Creekside, Zig Zag, and more while at night they will hitch up their horses, pitch tents, cook over an open fire, and share s mores, laughter and fun with their friends.
