Strategically located at the intersection of I-85 and US 27-29, Bridgeport is equally served by CSX Rail and the adjacent Coweta County Regional Airport. The Mega Site designation affords presentation of the property to major potential employers whether moving to Georgia or expanding within the state. Similar recent announcements include Caterpillar in Athens and Baxter Pharmaceutical in the Covington-Madison area. The Master Plan for Bridgeport is equally constructed to focus on the components desired by major users in a competitive and changing marketplace. While the plan capitalizes on the confluence of transportation components and their accessibility, it equally focuses on three major elements key in today s global marketplace. First is flexibility, second is proximity of suppliers and third is a long term ethic of sustainability. The plan will accommodate both large users as well as a diverse mix of medium to smaller business opportunities. West of US the plan could accommodate a single user desiring a large corporate campus, a mixture office and manufacturing served by the adjacent CSX line or a single large assemblage operation. East of US over 200 acres are set aside for potential suppliers and/or businesses which would derive value from the adjacent airport. As with any development small or large, alteration of the existing landscape creates the potential for impacts. To proactively address important water resources within and adjacent to the property, Bridgeport s Master Plan calls for enhanced buffers and green space along key drainage ways and streams. Addressing water as an important regional element will continue to be a stewardship ethic throughout the development of the property.
