GWRRA Mission and Vision Statements GWRRA Mission Statement Established in 1977, the Gold Wing Road Riders Association provides an atmosphere for fun, safety, and knowledge to Gold Wing and Valkyrie motorcycle owners. GWRRA Vision Statement: GWRRA - is a leader of associational organizations, respected by its Member as well as its competitors and the communities it operates within. GWRRA - strives to offer the highest quality service to its Members. GWRRA - is a family-oriented association of Honda Gold Wing, F6B and Valkyrie owners as well as non-gold Wing owners, our Associate Members. GWRRA Vision Gold Wing Road Riders Association [GWRRA], founded in 1977, is recognized as the world's largest single-marquee motorcycle association in the world. GWRRA provides safety, technical, and educational services to its Members world-wide. GWRRA Mission Dedicated to our Motto; Friends for Fun, Safety and Knowledge, GWRRA Members enjoy the freedom of belonging to a not-for-profit, non-religious and non-political organization. GWRRA Values Friends - GWRRA Members are men and women from all walks of life with varied interests and backgrounds. We have Gold Wing and other touring motorcycle riders of all age groups. Some ride solo and many ride with small and large groups! New Members join GWRRA especially for the technical information we share; some of our Members join for the enjoyment of riding with friends and also meeting new friends. Find your future riding friends with your Region Map.

Fun - As a family organization, GWRRA has certain fun groups to include restaurant, picnic and campout runs. We also have GWRRA groups to include charities, parades, and small or large events across the country. GWRRA Members can participate in live or video seminars through Rider Education Programs. Safety - We strive for improvement through GWRRA safety workshops. We will share technical expertise, news and tips about riding, maintenance and the best touring routes in the world. Safety is for Life on our GWRRA Rider Education Programs page. Knowledge - While generalization about a group of individuals as large as today's GWRRA is difficult, GWRRA Members are likely to be independent thinkers, fun-loving, generous, adventuresome, cooperative and unfazed by the natural challenges of riding in the rain, temperature extremes or highway uncertainties. Many Members have completed CPR and first aid training, making them the best-prepared motorcycle riders on the world's highways! Find " CPR and First Aid Training " on our GWRRA Medic First Aid International Programs.

Hello C3 to March Last year we were left in the cold when Copper Top surprised us by closing the doors in the fall to rebuild into a party center. I don t know as a fact, but another GWRRA chapter met there, too. It was a very sad time for us all. We had a great time there, we had lots of room to socialize and eat. We had the use of the upstairs and had our fundraisers and Christmas party there. Even when we moved downstairs, and it was busy, we still had a semi private place to eat --- it was perfect. In November, our former CD, Dave Hicks, found Four Keys and they accommodated us. Now, we meet at Four Keys at Royalton Rd. Columbia Station, Ohio and we've been there since. They even housed us in an emergency when, in December, our Christmas party had to move from Houlihan's in Strongsville. Gay called immediately, and they were closing at eight, but they unlocked their doors for us, and they welcomed us. Restaurants just don't do that! The owner and waitresses like us being there. For two months, we've talked about looking for a restaurant with a private room. Betty and I have been really busy in collecting names of restaurants with private rooms--back and forth s, texting, calling restaurants and found NO restaurants that can accommodate 20 people at once. Restaurants that have breakfasts are really busy from 9-10 AM--this is our gathering time and it's the busiest. We picked them in area that is firmly in the center of all of us. C-3 is still looking for a better way to accommodate us all. I'm looking towards VFW and The Eagles in the area. They are central, but you need to be a member or know of an active person and that person needs to be there when you are. The Posts have kitchens and enough room to accommodate us all at any time we could have fundraisers, meetings and parties. I'm asking any retired or active military persons to help us to secure a place to eat and more. We have located two VFW Post Springville Rd., Strongsville, Ohio and VFW Post 5563 Center Rd., Valley City, Ohio. If anyone is an Eagles member, that would be great too. In the upcoming months, we'll be preparing for our 2018 riding season!! In April, our riding season starts with a few hard-core riders traveling to Indiana for hamburgers.

Phil N. has once again offered his home for hosting C3 s Maintenance Day on May 12th at 10 AM -?. It's a day of socializing and a potluck. It s a great time to help each other with the bikes. Last year was just a hoot. Thank you Philip Vink GWRRA Crossroads C3 CD philipvink1227@outlook.com The Road Captain class originally scheduled for April 7 th has been. This is the same date as the Spring Officers Meeting in Mansfield. GWRRA Buckeye Rally Hotels (same city) are included in the Events Section of this Newsletter for your convenience for both events). Robert G is considering a Road Captain course at Buckeye Rally if there is enough interest. If you are interested in taking this class, please give your information to Philip to supply to Robert G BEFORE March 30, I took Silver Star out to visit friends had to take it out so I did. Out on the Goldwing FEBUARY 15th.

Happy March!!! So, the motorcycle show has come and gone. What a fun time seeing all the people in the Honda booth viewing the new Wing. We got to see some of the vendors we only talk to on the phone during the year. Seemed so much more crowded this year but, I'm sure partly because the space was smaller. They are saying that everything is new on the 2018 Wing. Well, we found the oil filter, some fuses and the battery are the same as prior GL1800s. The front tire is the same size, but the rear tire is a 200/55R16. So far, no one is advertising tires except for an OEM microfiche from Honda!! We have also learned that the GL1800 Centramatic wheel balancers will NOT fit the 2018 Goldwing. Centramatic is working on getting a new one produced. Some of you went to Cabin Fever and had a great time visiting with friends, playing games and eating good food. I ve heard a lot of great feedback from this event!! Punxsutawney Phil has seen his shadow and predicted 6 more weeks of winter. Fortunately, we are closing in fast on that mark!! We have cleaned all our riding gear, completed our maintenance tasks for each bike and updated our GPS units and we are ready to call it Spring already! Roy has completed the 2018 Ride Schedule Version 1.0 and it is shown on the next page. Sooo exciting! See everyone soon! Betty Ohio C-3--where you're welcomed with a hug or a handshake!

Robert G & Angela Williams With the new changes coming from the Home Office, it is important that the members know how to access their own GWRRA training history. This way you (the member) can keep current in the Rider s Ed Levels Program. Now till May, you can find many Medic First Aid Classes throughout the State. Beginning in May, we will have a Rider Course Class every weekend somewhere. If you are interested in what nearby Districts are doing with Rider Courses, contact Robert G Williams and ask. He has already received Indiana s Rider Course schedule and would be happy to share it. I have attached a nice How to pdf file created by Chuck Jacobs, Team GWRRA Rider Education Asst (Editor Note: Not attached to this newsletter due to size) But the short story is this: Go to: Click on the button titled My R.E. Information Login in using your membership number and password (see attachment). Select the record you want to review. One note to remember if you have any issues logging in and getting your training record, you can always contact your District Educator. 10 By Gary Seith Well, I assume many of you went to the bike show to see the new Goldwing. I was very excited to finally see one in person. I loved it! After sitting on all of the new Goldwings, crawling under them, trying out all of the controls, listening to other people and talking to the Honda reps that were there, I was very impressed. It has sharp lines while being lighter and narrower than the previous models. The seating position was very comfortable, and the size of the trunk and saddlebags look like they will be plenty large enough for my needs. I think it will be a big benefit that all of the lighting is now LED s. I will still want to ride one before deciding that it will be the next Wing for me. Plus, waiting a year or two for Honda to work any bugs out of the design is usually a smart move. So, for now, I will try to pay attention to the comments made by people who have purchased one. We have already received all the new accessories, in addition to many maintenance items, from Honda for the new bike. And we will get any new items that the aftermarket companies come up with in the coming months as well. I think this will generate a lot of interest for new riders who may have never considered a Goldwing before. Great job, Honda! I think he wants one.check out the look in his eyes! Nice to see the Honda booth so crowded at the Cleveland Motorcycle Show!

It's a twelve-day ride covering the breadth of the United States, including four regions, twelve states, and two countries. The ride starts in Wilmington, North Carolina and ends in Chula Vista, California with plenty of stops along the way, including a short ride across the U.S. border into Mexico and back. 40 To Phoenix has grown in popularity each year since the first in 2010, when 27 bikes showed up at the Home Office in Phoenix, Arizona while passing through. Since then we've had years with over 250 riders and we're planning on a big group again this year! Online Registration: NOTICE* Registration for 40 to Phoenix 2018 is CLOSED! March 25: Palm Sunday March 30: Good Friday April 1: Easter HONDA RECALL Honda has recalled some and Honda Goldwings. The NHTSA Campaign Number 18V045 is for AIRBAG MODELS ONLY and states that these models have air bag inflators assembled as part of the air bag module that may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to higher absolute humidity, temperature and temperature cycling. An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the rider resulting in serious injury or death. Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the air bag module free of charge. There is no notification schedule yet but owners may contact Honda Motorcycle Customer Support at Honda s number for this recall is KJ1. You may also go to this website: to check for your motorcycle VIN and determine if yours is involved in this recall. CHECK SCAMS There are a number of check scams going around these days. If you receive a check you were not expecting, make a photocopy of it. If the resulting copy does not show VOID on it, the check is a fake and you should not deposit it. ELUSIVE PART NUMBERS The CB radios for the Goldwings require 3 filters. Many of the microfiche sets online do NOT list these filters part numbers separately. The part numbers are 08E95- MCA FILTER, FAN MOTOR (2 REQUIRED) and 08E95-MCA FILTER, FUEL PUMP (1 REQUIRED).

Banana Pudding Cheesecake compliments of Philip Vink When two of your favorite desserts become one. TOTAL TIME: 6:25 PREP: 0:20 LEVEL: EASY SERVES: 10 INGREDIENTS 2 blocks (16 oz.) cream cheese, softened 3/4 c. sugar 2 c. heavy cream 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract oz. package instant vanilla pudding mix 1 3/4 c. whole milk 1 prepared graham cracker crust 3 bananas, sliced, plus more slices for garnish 30 Nilla Wafers, plus more for garnish Whipped cream or Cool Whip, for serving DIRECTIONS Make cheesecake filling: In a large bowl, using a hand mixer or in a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, beat cream cheese until fluffy and no clumps remain. Add sugar and beat until combined. Add heavy cream and vanilla and beat until stiff peaks form. Set aside in a medium bowl. Whisk together pudding mix and milk. Let pudding stand for 3 minutes in the fridge until thickened. Fold into cheesecake mixture until combined. Pour half the filling into graham cracker crust. Add a single layer of sliced bananas and Nilla Wafers (23 total), then pour over remaining half of mixture. Smooth top and garnish with crushed Nillas. Refrigerate until cheesecake is firm, at least 6 hours and up to overnight. (If the cheesecake stills feels too soft to slice, transfer to the freeze for up to 1 hour.) Before serving, top with dollops of whipped cream or Cool Whip around the border of the cheesecake. Top each dollop with a banana slice and Nilla wafer, then garnish the whole cheesecake with more Nilla Wafers.
