1 Welcome to An Exhibition of Soaring Colors! March 18 th, 2017 Union-Endicott High School 1200 East Main Street 4 PM The school doors will open and tickets will go on sale for spectators at 2:30 pm. The gym doors will open at 3:00 pm. Our National Anthem will be performed at 4:00 pm. Tickets are $6.00 for Adults and $4.00 for Students/Senior Citizens (65+). Children under 5 are free. Guard Check In: Please note, we have moved the guard check in to the gym entrance. Guard check in will open at 1:30 pm. Please do not arrive before this time! Guard members, chaperones, staff, and floor crew will be stamped upon arrival. MYCGC allows a total of 15 staff, chaperones and floor crew combined per unit. Please plan to hand in a filled out staff/crew list. Each participating guard will be assigned a classroom. An adult guard representative must arrive with the members and sign a form stating that the room will be returned to the condition in which it was found and pay for repair or replacement of broken or missing items. Rooms will not be assigned until this has been done. Pre-Performance Announcements & Sound Checks: All announcements should be typed and clearly labeled with your guard name and the class you compete in. Announcements should be turned in immediately upon check in. Sound checks will be available from 3:00 pm until 3:45 pm and again during intermission, which will follow retreat #1 (roughly 6:32-7:02). Cafeteria: Our cafeteria will open at 2:00 pm with a variety of delicious choices available. Videotaping: We will not be videotaping. An area will be clearly marked for units wishing to videotape their own performance. Videotaping the show by other spectators is prohibited. Please no flash photography.
2 Equipment and Props: All equipment and props must be carefully padded and may be inspected before entering the gym. If you have a large number of props, please notify us in advance so we can provide you an adequate amount of space. No props will be checked in before 1:30 pm. To keep the walkways around the gym clear, we are asking guards that perform before intermission to load your props immediately after you perform. After intermission guards can wait until the end of the competition to load. If this is not possible, please contact us prior to the day of the competition so we can make arrangements to store your props until the end of the competition. Please also note that, due to the number of guards competing at our show and the available space, that we will be storing props on our outdoor patio. The patio is covered. If this will be an issue, please notify us in advance so we can try to make other arrangements. Floors: Please note that this description is from the perspective of the spectator bleachers. All floors, props, and guards will enter from the right side double doors in the back of the gym. When your performance is complete, you will fold your floor to the left and then exit through the left side double doors at the back of the gym. Please see the included map for layout. There will be a designated area outside the gym to refold your mat. Please be conscious of time as you do this. Seating: Guard members will be allowed to view the show from the back side of the gym only. Since front side seating is for the paying public, please remind your members to sit on the back side of the gym. Warmup & Guides: There will be an equipment warm up in a full size gym prior to your performance time. Your group will be escorted as it makes its way from your classroom to the equipment warmup area and finally to the gym. It's the director s responsibility to follow the time schedule. Retreat: Captains only please. Please have your captains report to the guard entrance immediately after U-E Black s performance for retreat #1 and Baldwinsville Varsity s performance for retreat #2. Sheets and Music: Will be available outside the athletic office down the hall from the spectator entrance.
3 Post Contest Meeting: The Post Contest meeting will be held in the Library (there will be signs) and will begin following the last performance. We will provide light refreshments for instructors at the post contest meeting. If you have a special request to be in an earlier rotation of the critique due to travel distance, etc., please your request prior to the day of the competition. Smoking: There is No Smoking Permitted on school grounds. Please remind your parents, chaperones and floor crew of this important New York State Law. Prop Vehicles and Passenger Buses: Guides will be available to assist you with drop off of props and guard members. Prop vehicles and passenger buses should follow the directions below and unload at the gym entrance. All vehicles (buses and prop vehicles) will park in the lower parking lot and drivers may reenter at the guard check-in entrance. We will provide a hospitality room for all drivers. In addition, each driver (maximum of 2 per guard) will receive a $5 voucher which can be used to purchase food or drink in the cafeteria. Directions: From the North: Take 81 S to 17 W. Take Exit 67 N Endicott/Rt 26 N. Take the Main St/Rt 26 N/17C W Ramp. Union-Endicott High School will be on your left after the first traffic light.
