The new season starts Tuesday, Oct 11 th 2011, 9:15 a.m. and ends March, We bowl on TUESDAY Morning at 9:30 AM. This is a 24 week league.you DO NOT have to play all season. Place: Cape Coral Bowland, near the intersection of Santa Barbara and Hancock Bridge Pkwy.
2 Bowling Continued Cost: $8.25 bowling fee each week, if you are not there, you owe nothing. We have eight (8) four (4) person Teams. It is a handicapped league using 80 % of 200. Vacancies get 120 and blinds get their avg - 10 pins. Our averages last year for men went from 170 to 120, and the women from 130 to 110. It is a fun time for a couple of hours a week. Car pools also help keep this entertainment cost to a minimum. Bowland has just recently been renovated, has a wonderful staff, good food and drinks and a great pro shop. It offers a check cashing card, and a players club card in which you earn Q dollars on things you buy, and in return earn money to spend at the lanes for food etc. Please confirm your intentions ASAP so we can make teams. 4 NIMBLE THIMBLE QUILTERS Our new season begins the first Monday of October. Looking forward to getting together once again. Right now I am in the planning stages of different classes that will be going on this winter-spring season. Looking forward to all the "show 'n tell" items. Please remember to bring back your pillowcases if you made them for the Million Challenge. The cases will be given to Quilt Lover's Hangout and they will deliver them. Also remember the crocheted or knitted 12" squares. They will be sewn together and distributed where needed. We will be also working on the next "raffle quilt"; it is going to be beautiful. Our QUILT SHOW is scheduled for March 19th so please mark your calendars. More information will be given later in the season. For you new residents, we meet every MONDAY 10 TO 3 and we welcome any new members. There is a group who knit and crochet also, so you don't have to be a quilter. We will be having a class on an easy Log Cabin Quilt for anyone interested. Take care, drive safely and we will be seeing you soon. Ethel LADIES LUNCHEON The October Ladies Luncheon will be held at the Twisted Lemon on Wed., Oct 19th at 12:30. To get there, turn right onto Pine Island Rd, turn right onto Skyline and take another immediate right onto SW4th St. Go straight until you see Bonefish Grill on the right. Turn in as if going to Bonefish Grill Twisted Lemon is right beside it facing Pine island Rd. We will have the 50/50 drawing with half the proceeds going to Pine Island Food Pantry. Tickets will be $1.00 each or 7/$5.00. Sign up at the clubhouse See you there! Cyndy Eames SHUFFLEBOARD The newly refurbished shuffleboard court is all set and ready to go. It certainly looks wonderful. Please note, be sure you only use the NEW pucks that are in the box. You can tell them by their appearance. The older pucks can damage the new surface.
5 LINE DANCING LINE DANCING SUNDAYS AT 7PM... and... THURSDAYS AT 1:30PM EVERYONE S INVITED! COME JOIN THE FUN! MOVIES There will be movies shown every Saturday for a $1.00 donation and bring your own popcorn and drink. Movies to be shown are posted in the clubhouse and at the Ladyfish Compound every week. They re lots of fun! Come join us! HEALTH AND FITNESS COMMITTEE BLOOD PRESSURE Our next Blood Pressure Clinic will be November 10th, 2011, at 9:00 A.M. until 10:15 A.M.; in the Pool Room in the Clubhouse. There will be a sign up sheet on the bulletin board. Those who get FLU SHOTS are advised to get them early, even before traveling and avoid the long lines that occur late in the season. Pine Island Cove does NOT have a clinic so plan to get your vaccine from your doctor or at one of the numerous clinics available. Remember to wash your hands often and use one of the hand sanitizers when traveling. STAY HEALTHY! CPR AND AED TRAINING The Park's 2 AED's are located in two places. One in the Office driveway next to the shed's door, and the other in Cobiac Compound, attached to the outside wall of the storage shed. Both are under cover, but readily available when and if the need arises. Sharon will be setting up a CPR and AED training class in Please watch for information. Consider signing up for this class. PROPERTY MAINTENANCE/IMPROVEMENTS AVAILABLE Property maintenance/improvements are available by a full-time Pine Island Cove resident (year round). All helpers are also Pine Island Cove residents, not others. Partial or full-home renovations available. Improvements range from new flooring, windows, kitchen & bathroom improvements, to dock repairs and new decks. Ask to see some of our work and talk to homeowners. Jim
