3 Bucket List Program Card Participation A fun way to track your summer activities and A-Ha moments. Use the ideas listed on the Bucket List Ideas card, or add your own. Once your Program Card is full, drop it off at any Los Alamos County facility to enter the Los Alamos Staycation drawing at the 100 Days of Summer Sunset Event. Sunset Event & Drawing Friday, September 8, 7:00-10:00pm Drawing will be held at intermission. Need not be present to win. Pick up a program card, and start checking off your summer bucket list! Available at any County facility, or stop by the Community Services 100 DAYS OF SUMMER tent during a Summer Concert. Photo Contest #100AHA Moments Photo Contest Capture and share your A-Ha moments as you get out and about this summer, then post them on Instagram with the hashtag #100AHAMoments, and watch to see if your photos are featured. Los Alamos County will post a series of weekly favorites on their Instagram page - throughout the summer. For more information, visit the 100 DAYS OF SUMMER table during a Summer Concert. All featured photos will be entered to win a Los Alamos Staycation in a drawing at the 100 Days of Summer Sunset Event. 9 High Mountain MudFest Mud Volleyball Tournament July 8 Have a mud-slinging good time at our round-robin mud volleyball tournament. Footwear is required, and the use of duct tape is highly suggested to keep them on! 12 LOS ALAMOS RANCH SCHOOL Celebrating 100 Years Visit the Los Alamos History Museum Campus Nestled in the heart of downtown, the Los Alamos History Museum presents the stories of Los Alamos from multiple perspectives via indoor and outdoor venues, historic buildings, artifacts, documents, photographs, audio and video recordings of personal stories, and interactive visitor experiences. The Museum Campus is ADA compatible. 12

13 Los Alamos History Museum Programs Flight of the Cranes Before July 20 At the History Museum, create YOUR origami crane to send to museums in Japan. The Museum staff and volunteers will deliver Los Alamos cranes to Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August. Visit losalamoshistory.org for detailed information. Volunteer Docent Training June 12 & 15 The training includes engaging discussions on Los Alamos, covering the homestead era on the Pajarito Plateau, the Los Alamos Ranch School, the Manhattan Project, and post-war Los Alamos. There is also an emphasis on visitor engagement and customer service throughout. Training is open to the public, registration is not required, and anyone high school-age and above is encouraged to attend. Join us for a hands-on history activity. Activities are aimed at children in grades K 3. Tuesday Mornings, June - July, 10:00am and 11:00am Fuller Lodge East Lawn (No meeting July 4th) This summer s adventures will include: The Aparejo burro packers A presentation from the Jemez Historic Site A Sec Sandoval-inspired activity by Fuller Lodge Art Center A celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Ranch School...and more! Guided Walking Tours Every Monday - Saturday The 1.5-hour guided tours include information on the Ancestral Pueblo people, homesteading, the Los Alamos Ranch School, the Manhattan Project, and post-war Los Alamos, as well as visits to Fuller Lodge, the homestead-era Romero Cabin and, of course, the sculptures of General Leslie Groves and Dr. J. Robert Oppenheimer for a photo opportunity. Mondays - Saturdays, Daily at 11:00am Los Alamos History Museum Guest Cottage $15 per person - 18 and under are FREE Homestead Tour Self-Guided Driving Tour Imagine yourself back in a time of isolated log buildings, fields planted with pinto beans, wagons laden with produce everyday life for the homesteaders who lived here before the dawn of the nuclear age that brought Los Alamos to international attention. This driving tour will introduce you to seven sites that indicate where 17 of the homestead families established their farms. Maps are available at the Los Alamos History Museum, the Visitor Centers and Los Alamos County Municipal Building, or download one at losalamosnm.us. Historic Downtown Walking Tour Self-Guided Walking Tour Journey through time from the days of the Ancestral Pueblo people through the atomic age on a newly revised walking tour. Learn about the buildings in the Los Alamos Historic District as well as people who lived in them and made history that changed the world. Maps are available at the Los Alamos History Museum, the Visitor Centers and Los Alamos County Municipal Building, or download one at losalamoshistory.org. 13

Whether it s a road trip, a trip around the world, or a trip down memory lane, the fun is in the journey. The show continues on through July 29. Friday, June 16, 5:00-7:00pm Field Trip to Canyon Road in Santa Fe June 23 Join the Art Center for a stroll down Canyon Road in Santa Fe to meet the artists for the 4th Friday openings at many of the galleries. Friday, June 23, 4:00-9:30pm Field Trip to Museum Hill in Santa Fe July 15 Join the Art Center on Museum Hill in Santa Fe to explore the variety of museums, botanical gardens, and rotating exhibitions. 15 Field Trip to Origin Cave July 29 Join the Art Center in exploring an area wonder, the Origin Cave. World-renowned cave digger Ra Paulette has created a one-of-a-kind art-lined chamber, bored into the center of a sandstone butte that towers majestically above the high desert floor near Ojo Caliente, New Mexico. We ll meet for a group lunch in Ojo Caliente before returning home. Sign up at the Art Center to carpool and reserve a spot. Saturday, July 29, 8:00am-1:00pm Meet at Fuller Lodge Art Center Summer Art Camp Showcase August 1-5 A celebration of artwork created during our 20th summer of Art Camp! Stop by and view the work our Summer Art Camp students have created. On Saturday the 5th, we will have an artists reception with cookies and Kool-Aid. Tuesday, August 1 to Saturday, August 5 Artist Reception, August 5, 1:00-3:00pm Meanwhile, Back at the Ranch Opening Reception August 11 Help us celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Ranch School the American West, and why we re Home on the Range. The ranch evokes a sense of place, homecoming, and safety. Friday, August 11, 5:00-7:00pm Field Trip to O Keeffe Country August 19 Join the Art Center to see where Georgia O Keeffe worked and lived, and be inspired! 16 Manhattan Project National Historical Park One of the few National Parks that focuses on American science, technology and industry during WWII, the Manhattan Project sites interpret the social and cultural life of the individuals and families that lived and worked in the secret cities, as well as the structures associated with the research and production of the atomic bomb. Visit the Manhattan Project National Historical Park online at NPS.GOV/MAPR Bandelier National Monument Bandelier provides an opportunity to explore Ancestral Pueblo dwellings, broad mesas and steep-walled canyons where ladders provide access to small-carved dwellings built in natural recesses, as well as 33,000 acres of designated wilderness ranging from 5,000 feet to 10,000 feet above sea level, including a wide variety of outdoor activities.
