(pg 8) President s Message Surprise! On a recent visit with Ralph and Helen through Utah we ran into Karen and Tom who were enjoying the beauty of the red rocks of Moab and the annual music festival. We were elated to have a wonderful dinner together and some great conversation. What a small world it becomes when you own an Airstream and are part of an outstanding Airstream club! Tom, Ralph, Helen, Jim, Karen, Lynda Our membership drive is underway and we welcome you to sign on for another year of Fun, Friendship + Adventure. The benefits include running into club members miles from home, but also Courtesy Parking. On this journey Jim and I touched base with a couple of very talented artists in Utah who provided us with Courtesy Parking and invited us into their beautiful home for the evening. On our return trip (yes, they invited us back!) we were invited to an artist s opening in a neighboring town held at the historical museum. All this fun is due to our mutual passion for Airstreams! Many thanks to Spike + Sue for their warm hospitality in Utah; and to Karen + Tom for sharing their holiday time with us along the way. As full members, you have several options when renewing your membership. With the positive changes on board at our home office in Jackson Center, Ohio, you may now renew by going to our website s Membership tab and click, Renew Now. Or you may choose to renew through the Greater Los Angeles Airstream Club via PayPal or print the form and send via the USPS. As Affiliate members, you may renew directly with our website using your PayPal account (credit card); or print and mail the form and send via the USPS. All renewal information can be found on our club s website under the Membership tab. We extend a warm welcome to our newest member, Dennis, who resides in Los Angeles. Cross L Road (near) Mayer, Arizona October Arcosanti, the city created in the Arizona desert by Paolo Soleri We have 20 sites available for an unbelievable experience at Arcosanti, located an hour north of Phoenix. This special event finds us in an urban environment created by Paolo Soleri, whose dream of a compact city design in the desert of Arizona, where architecture meets ecology and brings us the beauty of Arcology. Please view the website to get a glimpse and feel of how spectacular this event will be. Built by over 7,000 volunteers, this city contains various use buildings where people live, work, visit and participate in cultural programs and education. We will also meet artist and author James Covarrubias, who will give us special story telling and a first hand presentation of his artwork.
