10 set up an epic fall battle to succeed John Kasich. There are also primary races for US Senate and Pat Tiberi s old congressional seat. Democrats hope and Republicans fear 2018 will be a wave election to sweep the party in power out of office. Turnout figures from the May 8th primary should provide a leading indicator for the size of the wave. Voters Have Lots to Choose in May Primary April political mailings bring May flowers, especially if you compost. You likely will get many political flyers in your mailbox this spring as central Ohio voters have many issues to decide. Of course, the big decision for Republicans and Democrats is whom do they want to run for governor. Republicans have two candidates to choose from Mike DeWine and Mary Taylor. Democrats have four primary foes Richard Cordray, Dennis Kucinich, Bill O Neill and Joe Schiavoni.
