3 CORVETTES OF FRESNO, INC Is a non-profit organization formed by those owners who are proud to drive America s only true sports car THE CORVETTE Our club meetings are held at 7:00 pm on the third Tuesday of the month at Yosemite Falls Cafe 4020 North Cedar Between Dakota & Ashlan on the East side of Cedar If you are an interested Corvette owner, we invite you to attend. The one time initiation fee is $30.00 and covers the cost of your Corvettes of Fresno window sticker, membership directory, club by-laws, nametag and many other goodies. The annual dues are $95.00 per year per couple, or $77.00 per year per individual. The convertible was discontinued after the 1975 model year and would not reappear again until GM cited declining sales for convertibles (only 4,629 units in '75) and safety concerns as reasons for killing the ragtops. 5 CORVETTES OF FRESNO - GENERAL MEETING MINUTES OCTOBER 18, 2016 Call to Order: President Bert Sherman called the meeting to order at 7:03 P.M. Board Members present were Nancy Teixeira, Chuck Feccia., Gerri Ware and Clay Mumby. Jim Agar was absent. The Pledge of Allegiance was shared by all. Secretaries Report: Minutes of the meeting September 2016 are published in the COF newsletter. A motion to waive the reading of the September 2016 minutes was made by Carol Trauger and seconded by Chris Campbell, Motion carried. A motion to accept the minutes as printed in the October newsletter was made by Louie Biglieri and seconded by Jackey Christani, motion carried unanimously! Treasurers Report: Gerri Ware reported the accounts activity for September, which is on file to be reviewed by members only. A Motion was made to approve the treasures report as read by Lee Delap and seconded by Angie DiLiddo. Motion carried unanimously. Membership:. Clay Mumby reported we have 66 members present including 7 guests. Guests were John Maddox and Shawn Brooks, John and Jeff Kuykendall, Roger Williams, and Tom and Pat Rebello. Corvettes of Fresno have 125 members and 86 corvettes. October Anniversaries and Birthdays were acknowledged. The name tag drawing for October is $ Communication: Jim Agar was absent Webmaster: Webmaster Chris Campbell said the site is up to date but the Kozera drone run video was removed from the website by the owner of the video. WSCC: Allen Teixeira reported he will be sending the membership dues in to WSCC in the next couple days. He also wrote an article about Tahoe 48 which should be in the next Redline. He has not received notice of any upcoming meetings. Activities: Please refer to the Calendar of events in the club newsletter, or on the club web site, for more details and up to date information. Guests are encouraged to attend any event, come join the fun! Remember all sign up sheets are on the side table. Past Events: Sept 24 Meet and Eat at Sakura Chaya, Clay Mumby reported 32 attended Oct 4 COF Board Meeting Spaghetti Factory 6:30 pm Oct 11 Tahoe 48 wrap up meeting 7pm Denny s Blackstone and Herndon Allen reported that Tahoe 48 made $ and in December the checks will be delivered to the three charities picked which are Marjaree Mason, Ronald McDonald House, and Hinds Hospice. He will again co-chair Tahoe 49 with Jim Agar and the next planning meeting will not be until January. We also would like to get a committee together to start planning Tahoe 50, so if you are interested please come to Tahoe 49 meeting in January. Up Coming Events: Oct 22 Grapes and Grits Run, Wares and Feccia s chair, Wine tasting and dinner at Lee s Kitchen on Ave 12 Madera Ranchos, meet at 12:30 at Applebee s Friant and Fresno. Wine tasting costs $5.00 per person and will be stopping at 2 wineries and then be at Lee s at 3pm.and cost there is $15.00 per person including tip and beverage. 6 Nov 15 COF General Meeting 7pn Yosemite Falls on Cedar at Granite Park Nov 19 Melodrama Oceano Biglieri s and Trauger s chairing need to make your own reservation for Melodrama and Condos, 2 tickets for melodrama available and also a room. We will meet at 8:30 in Lemoore at 41 and Bush Chevron Station. Dec 3 Christmas Party at Pardini s $35.00 per person Angie DiLiddo chair please indicate if you want chicken or beef on sign or when you pay. Jan 3, 2017 Board meeting 6:30 Spaghetti Factory Jan 10, 2017 Tahoe 49 meeting 7:00 P.M. Denny s Herndon and Blackstone Jan Ice Breaker Monterey Steve Profera chairing, get your room reservations by Dec 13 th. Will leave at 7:30 a.m. from Herndon and 99 and route is a mystery April Trip to St George, Bryce Canyon and Zion chaired by Jim Agar and Allen Teixeira make your hotel reservations NOW if you haven t already and the run is now full. Sunshine Report Ruth Looney was absent so Gerri Ware reported we received 2 thank you notes for plants sent from Gwen Cox and Billie Talley. Betty Foster broke her hip and had surgery and is now in Rehab at Pacific Gardens and Dave said she is doing okay but will probably be there 2 to 3 more weeks. Old Business: Allen Teixeira said if you have any changes not already reported for the directory please let him or Kerry Dehmel know as soon as possible so Kerry can get them printed. Allen also wanted to again thank everyone who helped with Tahoe and also his committee of Jim and Lynn Agar, Jerry and JoAnn Najarian, Nick and Angie DiLiddo, and Nancy Teixeira. New Business: Angie DiLiddo commented on the new microphone and Bert Sherman thanked Chris Campbell for getting it for the club. Nominees for the Board are the following Chuck Ware President, Dave Trauger 1 st Vice Pres(Activities), Robb Kochevar 2 nd Vice Pres(Membership) and Ruth Looney Secretary. Since none of the offices are being challenged we just need a motion to accept the nominations, Louie Biglieri made the motion and Carol Trauger seconded. Every one was in favor, motion passed to accept the above new officers. Betsy Lindegren has volunteered to be the new Sunshine person. Bert Sherman thanked all the outgoing Board members. Name Tag Drawing:.The drawing is $40.00 for October, Jeanne Dehmel s name was drawn and she was wearing her name tag so she won the $ November drawing will be $ /25/25 Raffle: Lan Mumby s had the first ticket drawn in the 50/25/25 raffle for $53.00 and the second ticket was also Lan Mumby for $ A 10% discount and free shipping on any order placed with Mid America was also given to the 50/25/25 winners. There being no further business a motion was made by Angie and Nick DiLiddo to adjourn the meeting and was seconded by Carol Trauger the meeting was adjourned at 7:53 pm. 11 ICE BREAKER 2017 The event is scheduled for Saturday, January 28, 2017 and the route will be a mystery type of run. The Club will be leaving from (restaurant parking lot) at Highway 99 and Herndon Avenue in Fresno at 7:30 AM. Please arrive at least 20 minutes early to sign the insurance sheet, a quick drivers meeting and receive typed instructions regarding the route, it will be different from last year. The route will include a winery stop, a point of interest and lunch. Reservations at Casa Munras: Hotel address: 700 Munras Avenue, Monterey, CA You must make your reservations no later than TUESDAY December 13, 2016 to receive the Corvettes of Fresno special rate. Reservation telephone Monday Friday between 8:00 AM 6:00 PM please be advised only at those times and number will the special rate be given. If you call at any other time or reservation number the call will go through to central reservations and they will have no clue as to our special rate. Deluxe Q/Q with fireplace - $ for Saturday January 28, 2017 Traditional King - $ for Saturday January 28, 2017 Deluxe King with fireplace - $ for Saturday January 28, 2017 Upon check in you will receive a coupon good for a 10% discount on food in the restaurant at the hotel.
