1 THE 2018 GRAND OLE TOUR WILL IN THE SONORA AREA OCTOBER SONORA IS A QUAINT SMALL TOWN AND HAS NUMEROUS HISTORICAL ATTRACTIONS THERE WILL BE ROAD TRIPS TO GRANITE RANCH AND TO THE AGRILIFE RESEARCH STATION AS WELL AS TO THE SONORA CAVERNS. IF YOU LIKE TO GOLF THERE WILL BE A 9 HOLE GOLF SCRAMBLE IN SONORA AND AT THE GRANITE RANCH. IT WILL BE LOTS OF FUN AND EDUCATIONAL FOR EVERYONE. CAN T WAIT TO SEE EVERYONE THERE. 4 Donna Johnson Call to Order: 6:55 pm Old Business: Pate workers there are 2 slots open for volunteers. If interested need to let Dale Dawson know. He is going to Scott Ingram with a schedule of workers tonight. Car passes for the volunteers are available from Dale Dawson, if you are not traveling with the group leaving at 8:00 am Thursday (26th), from the Stripes on Loop 250 and Big Spring. Meet at the Stripes on Loop 250 & Big 8:00 am to caravan to Ft. Worth. Scott Ingram will be cooking at his house for club members on Friday night. Reminder: There will be an Elvis impersonator on June 1, Betty McCann has details. New Business: Jeanie Scott is planning the tour for June. Afton White is planning the July tour. It will be to Slaton, TX, at the Rock & Roll Downtown Square. There is a car show hosted by Caprock Car Club on July 20, The RSVP was started to encourage members to RSVP. It has never worked, there has never been more than 14 people respond. As a result, it is cancelled. 50:50 Shawn Freeman #456 Car of the month: Brought by Shawn Freeman Ford Grand Torino fastback. It was in North Carolina, has had only 2 owners previously. This car was manufactured for only one year. He has all the original stickers. Was garaged all it's life. It is known as a fish mouth car. 5 WEBSITE: FACEBOOK: Classic Memories Car Club APRIL 2018 May 5 th Next Meeting Sam s Place Our April meeting was the smallest of the year and everything up to the meeting seemed strange to me. We had the lowest number of RSVP'S and when I made my reminder phone calls I had eleven phones where I left a message about our meeting was not returned! In all the years this has never happened. Those eleven phone calls represented 19 members and they were members that usually attend except for one. I was in a position of not knowing how much to prepare for our meeting. I ended up cooking something that Donna could make a lot of different dishes for leftovers! The pulled pork turned out great for us! We have had sliders, tacos, burritos and stuffed potatoes. The potatoes have been stuffed, scalloped, mashed and fried. (actually we are now sick of potatoes) LOL The carrots have been great just to snack on. We had plenty of great desserts and I noticed that many of the desserts got taken back home. I usually make me a plate of desserts for my breakfast during the week but I forgot to do that. My Loss!!! A big THANK YOU for all those that brought desserts and helped to clean up. Shawn Freeman was Car of the Month and for those that did not attend you missed seeing a Great Car. The car was a 1972 Ford Gran Torino. A absolutely beautiful car!!!! Thank you Shawn for taking the time to show us your wonderful find!!!! RSVP I will no longer be doing the RSVP drawing because over the years it just has not helped reduce the phone calls that I make. If you find it in your heart to RSVP it would be greatly appreciated! We will now be leaving from Stripes at the corner of Loop 250 and Big Spring at 8:00am!!! When I announced it at the meeting I did not know that Jeanie Scott had us going to a Vintage Car Museum in Weatherford. We are still going to eat at Mary's in Strawn.
