2 In early August, CareFlite moved its Frisco helicopter base to the McKinney National Airport. Now called the McKinney base, it is housed in the hanger shown above. The facility houses the aircraft plus space for the on duty pilot, air clinical staff and the aircraft s mechanic. As a result of this move, the base s monthly flight volume increased by 33% versus the average number of flights per month for the prior year. The base utilizes a state of the art Bell 407GX equipped for medical transport transports. Service is available 24/7 from all of CareFlite s helicopter bases in support of First Responder agencies and hospitals. CareFlite appreciates the warm welcome and increased use of its air medical service since moving to McKinney National Airport. 3 SECOND BELL 429 ENTERS SERVICE ON AUGUST 5, 2016 CareFlite put its second Bell 429 helicopter into service on Friday, August 5 th. Ryan Oppel ATP took command of N429CF along with his medical crew and departed the Grand Prairie Airport (shown above) for the aircraft s new home at Methodist Dallas Medical Center. Within a few minutes after arriving there, they were launched on a scene flight. The medical crew on this inaugural flight consisted of Jonathan Swofford CFRN, EMT-P and Amber Chancellor RN, EMT-P. The crew reported that the helicopter handled extremely well into and out of the scene and the room in the back of the aircraft felt like the back of CareFlite s larger ground ambualnces. Also in the photo above is N428CF, the company s other new Bell 429. That aircraft was flown to Grand Prairie and subsequently baqck to its base in Fort Worth by Ulie Adrian ATP. 4 2016 GOLF TOURNAMENT ANOTHER SUCCESS CareFlite s 23rd Annual Golf Tournament was held on October 6, 2016 at Tour 18 in Flower Mound. The tournament is always held the first Thursday in October. The tournament is a thank you to our First Responder Partners and raises money for CareFlite s First Responder education programs. The scramble began at 8:30am after registration, which ran very smoothly, and breakfast.

7 The volunteers who made the 2016 Golf Tournament run so smoothly. Second from the left is Kurt Mays, Haslet Fire Chief. He founded the tournament when he was a CareFlite Flight Medic and continues to this day helping with the event each year. Kurt Mays, Laura Thompson and Doak Enabnit gave the door and raffle prizes away during the lunch that followed the 18 holes of golf. Most of all, we thank our Golf Tournament Sponsors.
