1 Date: September 28, 2018 To: Derek Hackett, Public Information Officer From: Grant Goldader, Civil Engineering Specialist Re: Traffic Control Report for the week of 10/01/ Souris River Flood Plan (Phase MI-1) 4 th Avenue NW/NE Road Closure: Pedestrian Walkway Closure: Westbound and Eastbound lanes along 4 th Avenue NW/NE between N. Broadway and 5 th Street NE starting April 30th. Route will be clearly marked. Access to Sammy s Pizza and other businesses by way of the Walder s Street and 4th Avenue NW intersection will be temporarily unavailable. Drivers are encouraged to access these businesses by way of 5 th Avenue NW. Park Construction closed, to through traffic, two pedestrian bridges in Minot on Thursday, June 28, to maintain appropriate safety during the Phase MI-1 Fourth Avenue flood protection project. These bridges are the Anne Street Bridge (the bigger, wooden bridge that goes over the river and the railroad tracks) and the Victoria Pedestrian Bridge (the shorter bridge that was put back after being damaged during the 2011 flood). Pedestrians are encouraged to use the Broadway and 3 rd Street bridges to cross over the river/railroad tracks in this section of Minot. The pedestrian walkway underneath the railroad tracks just south of 4 th Avenue NE, near the 3 rd Street bridge underpass, is scheduled to be closed temporarily for three weeks. The contractor will be placing rip rap along the banks of the Souris River and needs to close this area for safety purposes 4 th Avenue NW Eastbound lanes - Uses N. Broadway to 6 th Avenue NW/NE to 3 rd Street NE to 5 th Avenue NE to reconnect with 4 th Avenue NE. 4 th Avenue NW Westbound lanes Uses 5 th Avenue NE to 3 rd Street NE to 6 th Avenue NE to N.
